acne

Avatar m tn I had an acne spot under my chin that took a while to go down, it was under he skin so I couldn't pop it....anyway it eventually subsided but now I'm left with a tiny lump under the skin where the spot used to be...it's difficult to feel most of the time, I have to stretch my neck to feel it and it not visible on the surface at all. I am concerned about it now as its not gone and is still there 8 months or so on from the acne...what could this be?
Avatar f tn That would be a lymph node. Probably a local infection or virus can do it. I had a swollen lymph node in my neck and it turned out to be something viral.
Avatar m tn Hello, For premature acne, if the acne is protected from the sunlight and sometimes an antioxidant treatment if applied in the initial stage to cure the lesions of acne then it can be cured at the beginning. Then medical treatment is the same as adult acne i.e initially benzoyl peroxide and topical antibiotics are used. But they are to be used under medical supervision and not one one’s own.
Avatar m tn With serious acne I found that I would get these nasty lumps that took forever to reach the surface and erupt. This may be the caae with you. I never found a cure and the condition did not die away until my 50's. Sad news. What did help was not stimulating the skin of my face in anyway. In fact all I did was rinse it in lukewarm water - no soap - no astringents - no facials - no sunbathing. Following that routine I prevented serious flareups.
Avatar n tn I have a area of what looks like a large area of sun spots right under my jaw and on some area of neck. I heard this could be related to hormones, is that right? I don't have sun spots on my face. I am 48 years old...if that makes a difference.
Avatar n tn I have no clue where to put this, but I need help. I'm a 19 year old female, I haven't had any medical problems except a couple years ago I had gallstones and had my gallbladder removed. Quite a while ago I discovered a small lump on my neck, the lump cannot be seen, it can only be felt, it does not hurt, and it's maybe the size of a BB.
Avatar m tn I am 25 years old, have suffered form adult acne since i was about 14 and had been experiencing lower abdominal pain on my left side for several years. In the last couple of years, I started experiencing hot flashes accompanied by moderate-severe anxiety and depression. Just as an aside, I studied psychology for several years and have earned, not only my bachelors in psych, but also several certifications and honors surrounding my degree ( I start my masters in a couple of months!).
Avatar m tn The title of your post is "lumps under the jaw line," but you don't really explain that, so I'm afraid I'm a little confused. I'm also a bit confused about the time line. You said you HAD been feeling dizzy and weak for about 4 months, you went to your doctor who decided you were depressed and "could" have acne. Did he send you to a dermatologist? This doctor would have ruled out your cancer and virus fears. Are you still on the antidepressants?
Avatar m tn exactly after 4 weeks I suddenly got stiff jaw and swollen lymphnode under my jaw so I decided to go to a doctor and he said the pain is from a joint called TMJ and the lymphnode was related to your salivary gland.but still couldnt locate the exact problem.my freinds around that time also developed similar symptoms but they took antibiotic and got relief.but for me it has been over 1year and am still living with the swollen lymphnode.after 3 mo.
Avatar n tn over that time i have been experiencing acne on my face and developed cysts under the jaw bone on both sides of my mouth. The dermatologist gave me amoxicilliyn for about 2 years which cleared up the cysts and acne. I stopped taking amoxicil. for 7 months and went to another dermatologist who put me on minocycline. but i feel that the cysts are coming back.
Avatar n tn It was under one of my incisors and my adult tooth was impacted into the odontoma so they removed my odontoma, my permanent tooth and left my baby tooth - which today is still working fine. I'm now 41. It took oral surgery to have it removed, and I was in the Army at the time so I don't know if it's a "dental" problem or a medical issue. Definitely benign or mine was at any rate.
Avatar m tn Hi I am a 16 year old white male. About 2-3 weeks ago I discovered a lymph node under my jaw. It seemed quite small (about 1cm). It is non-tender, firm and movable. Being a Hypochondriac I made an appoitment the next day and the doctor had a look at it. He said it was probably just caused by the combination of having severe acne and sinus infection.
Avatar n tn Now I have persistant and large acne on my cheeks and jawline, including cystic acne. The acne is ever present and not just once a month. My current dermo (not the one who proscribed Accutane) tells me that it's hormonal (I believe this) and that I will just have to deal with it for the rest of my life (I don't want to accept this). She does Cortosone injections on occasion for the cysts because I cannot, for the life of me, leave my face alone.
Avatar f tn I am experiencing a severe breakout. I have larger nodules under the skin around my chin, jaw bone, and neck. They last for two weeks before they become painful and eventually come to a head. An esthetician recommended taking probiotics with a digestive enzyme, but that seemed to make it worse. I have tried medication, facials, microderms, etc... They only seem to make it better temporarily. What could be causing this and how do I fix it?
Avatar f tn I have long curly hair. I n 62 and I have had breakouts like on one side of my face for about 2 years on the side that my hair hangs on. I could not get this acne to complete go away. It would almost be give and back again. I could actually see a line that went from one spot to another. It's hair! My hair. Ever chance I could even see a hair close to the surface I pulled, and it was under the skin and the breakout would but break until that hair was gone.
Avatar f tn Can anyone recommend an acne treatment for those cystic acne bumps that take forever to go away? I'm 46 and did Accutane in my 20s with pretty good results until the last several years. I've had the most success with Pro Active, but my skin got really itchy when I wore mineral powder makeup and I kept ruining towels, pillowcases and shirts. I've also tried Acne Free, Murad and Dermatologic plus prescription cream with no luck.

Avatar n tn For the last year my pores have enlarged and I have many white bumps under the skin on my right side of my face around the chin, jaw and top of the cheek bone down to the jaw with a few a couple in the middle of my right cheek. They arent hard bumps and most if squeezed while produce a white string substance and it never goes away. I wash my face morninng & night and have tried every type of face wash hoping to find my cure. Can you please tell me what this is and how do I get rid of them.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am 29 yr old gay male and always practice safe penetration (top if that matters) but much for oral since I read in many forums that oral is not so risky. In mid August, I had a pea sized small swollen lymph under my left jaw. I didn't know it was a lymph, and since it didn't hurt, I didn't care much. It stayed there for like a month and then second one of similar size came up close to it in mid Sept. Slowly they started going down, but then a third one popped up above them.
Avatar n tn Basically I have a long list of symptoms and to make a long story short , I have a goiter and the Endocrinologist says I have classic Hashimotos but since my thyroid hasn't quit working and my TSH is very normal at .9, then.5. and last check .3 that there is nothing he can do to help me. But I am 31 and my acne seems to be worsening. It's very bad on my chin and jaw line along with what seems to be more hair growth in the same area. Have any of you experienced this?
Avatar n tn There is a connection with taking Abilify and acne .
Avatar n tn Oh, I'm sorry to hear about this. Skin problems are so emotional in nature too because of how we all are about our appearance. But you are not alone. When the health crisis blows over, seeing a dermatologist may be of benefit to you. They do have things they can prescribe. Retin-A is one of them. Some women also have success going on birth control pills when they have adult acne. Make sure your make up isn't contributing to the issue as well.
427801 tn?1203844562 Since the day I started shaving Ive always developed what appears to be a rash (possibly acne) on my neck under the far ends of my jaw bone. I have tried every shaving cream under the sun, and none of them do anything to help the issue. I've also tried only shaving in the direction of hair growth so as to eliminate/minimize the possibility of it being ingrown hairs. Again, that doesn't help. So I've been wondering if maybe I'm allergic to the metal in the razors or something.
