Adult acne on forehead

Common Questions and Answers about Adult acne on forehead

acne

Avatar m tn When my daughter turned 6 last June, she developed acne on her forehead. Mistakenly we thought it was molluscum (which she had on other body parts). The dermatologist recommended a salicylic based acne medication. After a few days of not working, I am trying Clearasil with a 3% sulfur base. I don't even know if this is for sure safe for children.
Avatar n tn Approximately 3 months ago I was in Asia and had sex (vaginal, no oral) with a girl there. On my way home I developed an acne like rash on my forehead which I ignored for a few weeks thinking it would go away. When it didn't, I started to worry that it is herpes. I made an appointment with my doctor but got impatient waiting a week to see him and went to urgent care. The nurse practitioner there insisted that it isn't herpes, told me I have acne and gave me antibiotics.
Avatar m tn I have tiny blisters that form a line on my forehead. It looks like a scratch but when I look close theres like 5,6 little blisters. Its not very painful I just assumed it was just a scratch then went to bed thinking itd go away but it looked worse in the morning. I got the same lesion on my chin a few weeks ago and dismissed it thinking it was razor burn but now I'm worried...could this be shingles?
Avatar f tn return to your dermatologist for further evaluation. this isn't herpes .
Avatar n tn He started me with acanya and then gave epiduo a try (acne became bad on my forehead). Went back to him and he prescribed me epiduo with solodyn. After a few weeks i had tiny red spots on my face and huge pimples. I tried proactive as well and that didnt work. After that i told him the situation over the phone and he said to continue the solodyn with epiduo. i did for another month and nothing happened. He now switced me to cephalaxin and i have been on it for about three days.
Avatar n tn sounds like an adult version of acne known as acne rosacea- google it or check google images - it is completely different to the teenage form of acne vulgaris
Avatar f tn Sorry grace, but that was my whole reason for asking b/c it looks nothing like the acne he has on his face at all! A nurse stated that it may be a spider bite which is possible as well. I will just take him to the doctor, but thanks for trying... If you research you will find out that herpes will come in the form of an "acne '' like blister, and rashes as well.
Avatar n tn When I suffer from these breakouts, I mostly get VERY itchy red bumps on my forehead, my cheeks and whiteheads on the sides of my nose. I try not to touch them other than when I am cleansing (mild facial cleanser [Kiehls' brand]), or applying moisturizer (Nivea for men). I am not doing anything new in terms of grooming habits or using new products, and these outbreaks remain a mystery. I tried applying OTC benzoyle peroxide the last time I had an outbreak, but it did no good.
Avatar f tn Not only do I have deep wrinkles beneath my eyes, on my forehead, and around my mouth, but as of the last year I have developed adult onset acne as well. I don't understand, while my girlfriends are slathering themselves with baby oil and roasting in the sun, I'm the one with premature wrinkles that make most people think I'm closer to 30 than 20. I come to this forum begging for any advice someone may have about my condition.
Avatar n tn I have had the diagnosis of seb derm for about two years now and have mild to moderate acne, mainly on the forehead region. I have had problems from impetigo to oozing sores on my forehead. Dermatologist I have been seeing ( I switched to a new dermatologist thinking there would be a difference) have given me several facial washes and ointments. This has given me more relief for the seb derm that covered all my t-zone and nose to small little manageable patches.
Avatar n tn Mostly my cheeks though, and it extends to my neck and ears. I do have a history of mild acne which has occurred on my forehead and chin but nothing to this extent. I'm dark skinned, or more like tanned so when i get acne i do have hyperpigmentation. Would cortisone help? If not is there any medication you could suggest.
428506 tn?1296557399 wonko- I am also on Mino and have recently had more breakouts, especially on my forehead! I thought it odd to get more zits on an abx usually used for acne! I also relate this type of breakout to a higher TSH for me. I am hypothyroid as well. I have a phone consult this week with my doctor and a follow up appt 2 weeks after that. I will ask at one or the other what is up with this.
Avatar m tn I am 25 years old, have suffered form adult acne since i was about 14 and had been experiencing lower abdominal pain on my left side for several years. In the last couple of years, I started experiencing hot flashes accompanied by moderate-severe anxiety and depression. Just as an aside, I studied psychology for several years and have earned, not only my bachelors in psych, but also several certifications and honors surrounding my degree ( I start my masters in a couple of months!).
Avatar n tn Oh, I'm sorry to hear about this. Skin problems are so emotional in nature too because of how we all are about our appearance. But you are not alone. When the health crisis blows over, seeing a dermatologist may be of benefit to you. They do have things they can prescribe. Retin-A is one of them. Some women also have success going on birth control pills when they have adult acne. Make sure your make up isn't contributing to the issue as well.
Avatar f tn I have had for the past 2 years small red bumps on my face in top of my nose, cheeks, around the nose, forehead, etc...I get red but not as much like other people. I used Elidel for 11/2 years and it worked great now I had to stop because of fear that it causes cancer. I have been using metrogel for 8 days but at first it was great and now my pimples are starting to come out again is that part of the process???
Avatar m tn Over the past 2-3 years, I’ve been getting these extremely itchy pimples randomly on my forehead and, on rare occasions, other t-zone areas. The areas start out very much like a hive (red, blotchy, extremely itchy skin), but, unlike hives, end up leaving a red papule with the occasional white center that stick around for days to weeks. To provide some context, this all started after seeking treatment for mild acne (whiteheads on my forehead and extremely oily skin) about 3 years ago.
Avatar f tn These bumps have since started to spread up my neck and across my chin and now up the sides of my face and onto my forehead -- all the places I applied the sun screen, but I also applied it on other exposed areas that didn't get the rash. It seems to spread quicker if the heads pop, but spreads regardless. I have had this before. I use to get it regularly and believed I had adult acne.
Avatar m tn I always had very clear skin even during teenage years, but all of a sudden in past year I just started breaking out on my forehead, chin, cheeks...really bad breakouts starting red, some have white heads that pop eventually...first I thought that waxing causes it and stopped, but nothing helps...no systems, nothing....I haven't had any amounts of stress, no real change in diet, I do take birthcontrol pills every couple of months, but break outs started before i started on them...
Avatar m tn hello. i'm 19 years old girl.. 4-5 years i have an acne, rash.. firstly, i had it only on forehead, but now it is appearing on a cheek, above the lip.. what can i do? and also i should mention that i have tender, capricious skin. i would like to get your help.
Avatar f tn I never had acne prior to my pregnancy except for a few bumps here and there along my forehead. But In the beggining I had it on my face and got pimples on my back. the olay clay mask worked wonders before I got pregnant and even now. I think the product name changed to olay shine control, its like 7 dollars and some change in Wal mart. Its a great product.
