Common Questions and Answers about Adhd natural medicine

adhd

Avatar f tn I was browsing around looking for non pill ways of curing ADHD and I came across a book called How to Cure ADHD. Has any one heard about it? On some other discussion forums some one had mentioned that they had used it and it really improved their child’s behavior. The website http://www.tocureadhd.com/ looked really promising. Has anyone else used it? I would like to finally have a non medical way of dealing with ADHD and this seems like the best option.
Avatar f tn Basically this is physical activity, muscle work, sensory experiences, and deep pressure that provides a calming affect to the nervous system. Many kids with add/adhd have comorbid sensory issues as well as add/adhd can sometimes be confused for sensory because the symptoms can be similar. My son has sensory integration disorder and we've found the 'heavy work' to be essential to his staying calm and foucused and organized.
Avatar f tn I was wondering can ADD be treated using natural remedies? If so can you give me some suggestions? I have been reading alot on the internet and I don't want to waste my money on something that will not work.

Avatar f tn Kapvay is the only drug which is approved by FDA for the treatment of ADHD in children of age 6-18 .This comes in a non stimulant extensive release tablet form and is always recommended by doctors for children. Kapvay has some other off label uses as well like treating insomnia, in treatment of menopausal symptoms. Sometimes it is also used in treatment of conditions like psychiatric disorders like hyperarousal, sleeping disorder. It can also be used as a mild sedative.
Avatar f tn It worked great for a short while. It is supposed to be what people use to naturally cure ADD/ADHD symptoms too, the natural way with no side effects. I just wish it lasted longer.

Avatar n tn Adderall is the most commonly prescribed ADHD medicine for adults. I think most insurance companies cover it until a person is 25. Some will cover it for longer. I had to start paying out of pocket on my 26th birthday. Some versions of extend release Ritalin are also FDA approved for adults and there are also non stimulant alternatives.
Avatar f tn I think that you would do a lot more good for her by learning more about things like ADD or ADHD. If she does have this problem, there is a lot that can be done for her at school and home. I suggest you buy the book, "The ADD/ ADHD Answer book," by Susan Ashley. It will give you a lot of good information. Best wishes!
Avatar f tn Today JAMA pediatrics online published an article saying there was a connection between children born with ADHD and HKD and prenatal exposure to acetamenophin. I tend to avoid medicine in general, and with only 45 days til my due date, they had enough evidence to convince me I can suffer through the next month and 13 days.

7552207 tn?1427020403 So I have sever depression and ADHD. I stopped all my medication during my pregnancy just because there is no 100% safe medicine to take while pregnant. And for the most part I can cope with my ADHD, but my depression is absolutely terrible...so my question: After baby is here, will I be able to take my depression medicine and breast feed? I have my heart set on breast feeding and I feel selfish if I cant just because of my own reasons...
Avatar m tn Please tell your expieriences with ADHD and the medicine so that they can see that the disease and the medicinal affects are real and positive.
Avatar n tn My son was diagnosed 4 mos. ago with ADHD and Oppositional Defiance Disorder. I tried all natural and homeopathic treatments first, but none worked consistently. However, we did find that a wheat intolerance was making his symptoms much worse. We are now deciding to start him on meds. His pediatrician thought that Adderall XR was the best one to try first. He started him at 5 mg this past Saturday.

Avatar m tn Have your children check with a physician skilled and knowledgeable in natural and nutritional medicine for help in these areas. A different meaning for “planned parenthood” Of course, if a young woman can follow a healthy diet for a few years before beginning her family, she’s much more likely to have very healthy babies who will grow into healthy children who don’t suffer from attention deficit disorder or learning disabilities in the first place.
