Avatar f tn I am going to discuss with my Dr. about getting ADD/ADHD medication, how do I ensure him that it is for the right reasons and not to abuse it like a lot of people do these days. I am not on any other medications and only go to the Dr. if I desperatly need too. I hate to take pills but I am trying to be the best person that I can, which means medication. I am a mother, a wife and a co-worker. I have a lot on my plates as many of us do.
443100 tn?1210621862 But she did have early intervention services. At 6 we took a slight ADD/ADHD detour (the school took us down that 1 month nightmare). Then we got the PDD nos at the state university clinic center for children. The universiy clinic did the kinda stuff I just described. That's about all I remember for now.
Avatar n tn Ive recently came across hyperthyroidism while on google and i am not trying to self diagnose but i filled out the checklist and i have just about every symptom but hair thinning. My resting pulse is at about 85-90 and i am a constantly anxious person to the point to where my sleep suffers hugely. Even when i am well rested i cant get a grasp on this. My dad has a history of atrial flutter but no history of hyperthyroidism although we both share diagnosed ADHD and anxiety.
1763947 tn?1334055319 During the past two weeks my hearing is getting worse and worse. I was getting more and more anxious for the reason behind it. I don't remember hearing loss being a symptom on the checklist for Lyme, Bart's or Babs. A friend of mine , who is the moderator in another support group for FL, said it is a side effect (she didn't specify from which one) She has had it and she sees Dr James Schaller, a supposed big wig here in FL that has written many books on Lyme and its co-infections.
Avatar f tn //www.medhelp.org/forums/ADD---ADHD/show/175. This is very difficult to deal with and ALL parents have trouble doing so. And it kind of sounds like you are going through this alone (?) which makes it even tougher. By the way, what kind of doctors are involved in the diagnosis/treatment and did they discuss ADHD? Best wishes!
Avatar f tn An interviewer assed their behavior at the age of 3 years, and then again when they were 5, by examining a caregiver-reported Child Behavior checklist. The interviewer taught the caregivers how to complete the checklist. The researchers found that the exposed children had a higher risk of developing some behavior problems. They factored out potential confounders, such as exposure to marijuana, alcohol, and tobacco, as well as a number of environmental risks.
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms in an adult to look for ADD/ADHD? I think my husband may have this.
Avatar f tn I am a worried mum of 4, my 3 year old is so angry all the time, i am unsure of the symptoms of adhd but wondered if anyone could help me find a cause and a solution.....one example is every day when i pick him up from nursery he kicks and screams especially if they have changed the routine and this leaves both him and myself very upset.
Avatar m tn m drawing a blank when thinking of suggestions, especially since each kid is so different. perhaps she needs something concrete, like a checklist, to remind her that she has to listen as well? to strengthen her listening skills, maybe play some listening games. for example, give a series of silly instructions and have her try to remember and follow them. then give her a series of instructions but give your husband or another family member a different series.
Avatar f tn I am trying to find everything second hand so that's why I haven't done the baby registry and got a full list.
Avatar f tn My 15 yr old son was recently diagnosed with ADHD using 3 surveys. I really wanted him to be tested using WISC since he is also gifted (140 OLsaT 3 years ago). It seems like our current psychiatrist allows us to decide our own course with medication to see what would work best. He is currently on 25 mg Vyvance and the last month he has said it made a world of difference with his attention in school.

5868480 tn?1376152611 Well id wait till after your shower then go nonlinear and find a 'what you need for baby' checklist and it will help if your not satisfied with a checklist use did ones :) hope that helps
Avatar f tn I honestly need a good checklist of everything we could possibly need.If anyone has a good website or place to start post it here!
Avatar f tn I have ADHD and my son has ADHD. It runs in my family from way back before ADHD became rampant and misdiagnosed. My son also has a very high IQ - and had the same difficulties as your son. I also work in the school as a speech pathologist. Request an obsevation by either the School Psychologist or a Teacher Consultant, if they have one. They can also give you a checklist that can be filled out by you, the teacher and your son.
Avatar f tn I agree, I would have your pediatrician assess him for ADHD, but I would also consider Sensory Disintegration Disorder. This behavior is not so different from a child who has suffered a trauma or loss (been hurt, loss in the family, parents separated).
