Many times depression has been caused by ADHD. Plus, the stim meds can be taken on an as needed basis and some have only about a 3 to 4 hour effect so can be taken just in the afternoon or morning (as needed).

ve looked at several medication blog sites and have seen numerous posts of women reporting hair loss from anti-depressants including Wellbutrin so I was really questioning the validity of the "less than 1%" finding from the Wellbutrin trials.

And its, "not just in your head".... well, ya in a way it is.
First, any company that does not give their prices and wants you to call in for that - bothers me. That speaks of an expensive product and a hard sell. But whatever. I also don't like their promise (with no research sited), of a " If you are looking for a permanent, drug-free solution to your child's ADHD, Learning Technics offers a revolutionary and proven program with an astounding 93% success rate." I have never seen any research that shows a permanent solution.
when should tell the child about adhd & odd, it been 3 months that child been told have adhd & odd, father wont agree with the dr recommending. want know when should i tell my child have adhd & odd? i know for years that child have it but father never beleive me then he finally admit he have adhd too and that he knew his child would have it before he met me.. what i am suppose to do? as single parent. a should i tell my child have adhd & odd?

And check with your doc about the more natural sleep aids like melatonin or even Benadryl. And there are always the teas by Yogi, Like "BedTime" which I think would be safe to take.
Concerta is a amphetamine based drug, basically speed. I adopted a boy, where his bio-logical father was labeled Schizophrenic, and his bio had alcohol and pharmaceutical drug dependencies. The Pediatrician issued a prescription of Concerta to him, and it has a "black box" warning by the FDA, specifically stating do not administer this to patients with alcohol or drug abuse history, and it is "not" a cure for ADHD.
My 15 yr old son was recently diagnosed with ADHD using 3 surveys. I really wanted him to be tested using WISC since he is also gifted (140 OLsaT 3 years ago). It seems like our current psychiatrist allows us to decide our own course with medication to see what would work best. He is currently on 25 mg Vyvance and the last month he has said it made a world of difference with his attention in school.
Hi--I am new to this blog. My 8yr old son has ADHD and mild delayed development. I tried not to medicate. As a nurse I do realize that stimulants can be addictive etc..Well, he was just unable to cope in Kindergarten--the teacher told me that he just wasn't retaining anything and I agreed. Despite counseling and behavior mod therapy etc..he wasn't learning. His self esteem was taking a hit and we started to see alot of anxiety. SO we did adderal.
