Avatar m tn Many times depression has been caused by ADHD. It is possible that the proper treatment of ADHD with medication (and therapy to help you understand how ADHD has affected your life) will allow the antidepressants to be slowly tapered off. Plus, the stim meds can be taken on an as needed basis and some have only about a 3 to 4 hour effect so can be taken just in the afternoon or morning (as needed). Anyway, hope this helps. Please post if you have any more questions.
Avatar n tn ve looked at several medication blog sites and have seen numerous posts of women reporting hair loss from anti-depressants including Wellbutrin so I was really questioning the validity of the "less than 1%" finding from the Wellbutrin trials.

Avatar m tn First, any company that does not give their prices and wants you to call in for that - bothers me. That speaks of an expensive product and a hard sell. But whatever. I also don't like their promise (with no research sited), of a " If you are looking for a permanent, drug-free solution to your child's ADHD, Learning Technics offers a revolutionary and proven program with an astounding 93% success rate." I have never seen any research that shows a permanent solution.
4489852 tn?1375753951 This is not a question, but I wanted to post my blog on here for other people to read if they wanted to. I had a hard time finding a chiari blog that was kept up to date and was current, so I wanted to start one not only so that i could have record of everything, but also so that other people could read my story and see that they are not alone in this fight. This is the blog I started in April.

Any feedback from users of Adderall or Adderall XR would be greatly appreciated. Topics to be added this week on http://Adderall.org How is Adderall XR different from Adderall? [Adderall vs. Adderall XR] What is Adderall? How to Make Adderall: [Adderall Background Information] What are the best Adderall and ADHD books?
665851 tn?1225826009 No drug is a perfect fit for everyone. Many people with ADHD derive life-changing benefit from taking Vyvanse, and other stimulant medications. You're certainly welcome to have your opinion - that nobody should take these drugs - but please keep in mind, the uphill battle that we with ADHD have to fight, to have ADHD recognized as "real" and to be allowed to take medication for it without harassment.

Avatar m tn Concerta is a amphetamine based drug, basically speed. I adopted a boy, where his bio-logical father was labeled Schizophrenic, and his bio had alcohol and pharmaceutical drug dependencies. The Pediatrician issued a prescription of Concerta to him, and it has a "black box" warning by the FDA, specifically stating do not administer this to patients with alcohol or drug abuse history, and it is "not" a cure for ADHD.
Avatar f tn My 15 yr old son was recently diagnosed with ADHD using 3 surveys. I really wanted him to be tested using WISC since he is also gifted (140 OLsaT 3 years ago). It seems like our current psychiatrist allows us to decide our own course with medication to see what would work best. He is currently on 25 mg Vyvance and the last month he has said it made a world of difference with his attention in school.

Avatar f tn Hi--I am new to this blog. My 8yr old son has ADHD and mild delayed development. I tried not to medicate. As a nurse I do realize that stimulants can be addictive etc..Well, he was just unable to cope in Kindergarten--the teacher told me that he just wasn't retaining anything and I agreed. Despite counseling and behavior mod therapy etc..he wasn't learning. His self esteem was taking a hit and we started to see alot of anxiety. SO we did adderal.

574118 tn?1305135284 I take a medication named Modafinil for Adhd , I am unable to use the first line medications like Ritalin that are often prescribed for the treatment of Adhd. I'm reliably informed this would put me either into a manic from hell or what my Pdoc fears most in my case a severe mixed state episodes that can be dangerous in my case they make me very unwell anyway..
