Common Questions and Answers about Addiction rehab help

rehab

Avatar n tn t either before, but do now. Addiction *****, but we can break this cycle. There is help out there and rehab is not the only option. Have you ever thought about trying N/A or any other aftercare to stay clean. I think the fact you have told people and admitted your problem is a HUGE step and should be very proud of yourself for that. Keeping it a secret keeps us sick. Stick around this is a great support group. Look in the top right of this page.
Avatar n tn I needed to be there and needed the help, badly. I had lost almost everything when I entered that rehab and to leave early was the wrong choice. I eventually relapsed again about a month ago. This time to methadone. I am scared, have been thrown out of my home and am losing both my girls. Pregant, no home and need to get back into treatment asap. My question is, does anyone know what the process would be being as I am pregnant?
317822 tn?1223241475 Detox gets you off the drugs safely, and a little of what rehab does. Rehab deals with learning about your addiction and how to live life without drugs. Once you are done with detox, they will help set you up on some continuing aftercare activities. Like an inpatient rehab, or outpatient rehab, a psychiatrist to follow your meds etc. that kind stuff. Hope this helps?

Avatar n tn Has anyone every been to rehab for drug addiction? If so...I would like to chat with you about my nephew who had to be taken to rehab after an overdose of Xanax.
Avatar f tn So many of us have lost so much through our addictions and trying to stop can be so frightening and lonely. But you are not alone. There are a lot of people here who have been where you are and we can help you through this. You don't need to go to rehab. You can cut down on your pills and then stop. It seems awful at first but then you will start to feel better and better.
1511199 tn?1292701545 Hey Nicole theirs no shame in asking for help if you need it rehab will be good for you post back when you can I just want to wish you the best of luck doing this I will keep you in my prayers good luck and God bless.....
Avatar m tn Oh wow I can't imagine going back to everything after rehab. Addiction is a tricky thing, and you may find yourself thinking it's ok to do it one more time. Is there anyway the rehab could hook you up with a half way house? The longer you can stay in rehab the better. Addiction is more than just physical pain. It's also mental and spirtual. Give yourself time to heal. All the best. Please keep posting!
Avatar f tn i agree you need to go to rehab....it wll help you in court. but, more than that you can come out of rehab clean and continue to stay that way. there is great support here but i agree na meetings are good too. good luck and keep us posted.
1113973 tn?1258663021 Quality rehab facilities that are completely free are few and far between. Many have payment plans or will work with you with payments. Your best bet is to flip through the yellow pages, find the first rehab, and call them. Tell them what you need and ask for help. If they can't help, ask for a referral. Rehab centers know about each others terms and programs for miles. They are your best source of info. Outpatient rehab isn't nearly as pricey as inpatient programs.
Avatar m tn I do not know what TALWIN is...do you have any more information? Is it an opiate? I was on opiates and detoxed at home going cold turkey. Welcome to this site and we are here to support you. Please provide any additional info about dosage you are on...
Avatar f tn I'm not proud to say that I'm addicted to pain pills. And I want to quit. I can't afford rehab. I'm going to start today. I already know that the pain will start what I don't know is how long it will last. I'm taking 4 to 6 percocets a day. Can someone answer this question & help me to get through this?

Avatar n tn Thanks for the quick response. After 8 years of addiction i am tired. I have done everything I can to help her. I cant make her go again to rehab if she wont go. As i have heard they must hit rock bottom but i fear rock bottom here will be a stroke or heart attack. . I am tired of policing her and watching her every move. to make matters worse she is bipolar. I have told her phsychiatrist and all he did was tell her that is bad. no more.
Avatar m tn I have realized that he is an addict and screaming is not going to help him. This is a different situation than most because I have pills too. How should I be handeling him. He does have legitimate pain that's why the doctor did not take him off completely. But I am making half of every week miserable for both of us. He is a great husband in every other way. Any sujestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Are you addicted or just dependent? It will work well for addiction, but the rehab would be a waste of money for a dependency. For instance, my Mom had a Klonopin dependency. She tried to go to the same rehab I went to, but was turned away and told to see an addictionologist. He weened her down and she's never had a problem. I however was an addict, and the detox/rehab worked well for me. The induction process at the rehab should tell you whether detox or detox/rehab is warranted.
Avatar n tn My daughter is in rehab for pills addiction. I will be able to visit her in another month. She says she will be there for a total of 6 months. She has no money, no belongings, nothing. All was lost when she was forced to go to rehab. My question is: What can I expect when she is released? She says she will have to live on the streets if I don't help her. I tried to help her by paying her rent and giving her spending money but she spent it all on drugs was was evicted.
Avatar f tn i'm thankful i have a strong wife to help me help myself b/c i figured up how much money i've spent tha last 4 years.
Avatar m tn And I believe you are right. I understand addiction very well, have been through rehab, and i have been clean, but i went back to the lifestyle. I convinced myself that I truly needed the medications for anxiety and whatnot, of course us addicts will make up any excuse if we want our drugs. I guess the question I need to answer is, why did I go back to that lifestyle and where do I go from here. When I went to rehab i went CT off Lortab, Klonopin, Temezepam, Triazolam, and Tramadol.
Avatar f tn sometimes they need to hit bottom before they acknowledge their addiction or ask for help. i sent my son to a inpatient rehab. when he was 17. he went kicking and screaming and said he hated me and never wanted to see me again. he is now 25 and has been clean for 7 years. he thanks me for saving his life. he tells me because of my prayers, the LORD and me sending him away that he is still alive or not in jail. he has had quite a few friends die and some that are also in jail.
Avatar f tn Suffering from an addiction this site could be help you. They are providing treatment for those who are addicted to the drugs.
Avatar n tn I would start by telling him/her about her addiction so that s/he can refer her to an inpatient rehab center. When she is done with rehab, she can go to Narcotics Anon meetings, and see/do whatever else they recommend at the rehab center. Now, there are doctors that specialize in addiction and pain management, but it really seems like she needs to get into rehab...fast. Hopefully others with more experience will chime in.
Avatar n tn I am going to detox next week for norco/vicodin addiction. I dont want to go but know I must. I have no idea what to expect. I take 30-50 pills a day, part of me does not want stop but I must I just want to also get my mind to want to stop and get better.
Avatar m tn i am a skateboarder (i know not all skateboarders do drugs and drink but most of them do) so i am around it every day, not to mention my family. ive just seen how easily addiction can screw up peoples lives and i wanna help fight it. people seem to open up to me a lot and i love it, so i figure why not try rehab, where it will be a challenge to get people to open up and want to get better.
1814148 tn?1332485798 On Sunday night I will be leaving for a 3 month stay in rehab. I can't wait to get there as there is no peace to be found in the life that I'm living now. I wish everyone health and happiness! Take care and I will connect will you all when I get back!
Avatar n tn rehab is good though you do learn a ton about addiction and recovery and i think everytime i went to rehab i picked up a new peice of information that eventually helped me in the end. goog luck i really hope that he realizes what he is doing to himself and his life before it is too late.
