Common Questions and Answers about Adderall zombie

adderall

Avatar m tn I was on Ritalin as a child, and put on Adderall when I was around 15. It gave me the zombie effect, but people say that means the drug was meant for people like me. (ADD) Smoking pot may in fact increase the feeling the Adderall gives him, but it will also help him eat and sleep if he's having trouble with either. The biggest problem with these 2 together are the long term effects.
Avatar n tn I also fear drugs because I was incorrectly put on Zoloft as a teenager for depression when in fact it was PCOS, and it put giant gaps in my memory while on it. I have heard that Adderall helps, but that it will turn you into a zombie, and my line of work requires thinking outside the box and being quick on your feet. Who should I talk to for help?
Avatar m tn I'm a lot older than you but I've taken adderall for about 5/6 years. I am able to concentrate and focus better than before....I've never felt like a zombie (at least not from the adderall....but I digress). It will cause insomnia if you take it too late in the day.
Avatar n tn I have had a problem for years now that causes me to have no energy, no motivation, loss of interest, no desire to do much of anything/never leave the house, cant focus, anxious, depressed, and my head just feels fogged and messed up. Anyway, I have taken adderall for 6 months which has helped a little with the energy and focus but not much with anything else. I have been to many doctors and now a psychiatrist and they keep prescribing antidepressants.
Avatar m tn 00pm. 70mgs of Adderall total a day.
Avatar f tn Hello, As a parent of a child that was on Adderall, as well as myself, I would never recommend Adderall, Ritalin, or any ADHD med that are in the controlled substance catagory. I had the same syptoms as your daughter, along with rapid heart rate, weight loss, and loss of interest in things that I enjoyed prior to starting Adderall. It made my son a zombie, his personality was different, he didn't laugh anymore.
Avatar m tn Please do not think this is the adderall alone, I have just recently started taking the adderall again in the last 3 days and I have noticed before that I forget to breathe when I was not on the adderall. I do however think what happened to me in the car is because the adderall is making my sleep worse.
1744544 tn?1311299862 So, for over 2 years, I have consistently taken 60mg of Adderall. Once I was finally stable on my Adderall, he then took me off of my Xanax (did not WEEN me off, but TOOK me off) stating that 'Florida Law-He can not prescribe 2 Narcotics'.. I went for my regular, I voiced that after a year and a half of being off of Xanax, I'm now experiencing Anxiety more and more severe.. I understood that he couldnt prescribe another Narcotic, but I felt anything to subside my Anxiety would help.

Avatar f tn I was taking 20mg of adderall xr and went to 60mg of vyvanse which i was told was like taking 25 to 30mg of adderall but i feel like im in some sort of withdrawal from adderall. am i the only one this has happened to?
Avatar m tn not personal experience with adderall....but it is normal to feel fatigue with adderall wd...it is not life threatening and for the most part it is a mental wd vs narcotics being both/mental and physical...the fatigue is common among narc wds as both drugs supply extra endorphins to the brain//many feel fatigue after narcotic cessation to be a physical symptom like the runs...but it is a result of taking endorphins away and waiting on the brain to "catch up" on endorphin production....
Avatar f tn I did do some research on forums and by talking to other patients and some have said taking something like adderall or something similar to that could possibly help. Which I dont want to go into the drs office and say Hey what about some adderall? lol. Seeing as I am truly trying to do the best thing here for my situation, that might not be the answer but maybe that's a step in the right direction.
Avatar m tn The last thing that normally happens is the zombie effect. So I have always heard that the zombie effect happening to one with ADHD is due to an overdose and a pretty good sign that you have ADHD. This kind of adds a different dimension to it.
Avatar f tn I have been recently diagnosed with ADHD, I have been on a myriad of meds for bipolar which have never worked. I have been given Adderall the first day 5 mg had put in a chair eyes closed calm as a cucumber, I don't think I have ever not been on edge in my life. Taking 5mg twice a day the first day I was surprised at my focus and my racing obsessive thoughts were gone, yeah! Problem, simple everyday tasks, chores are impossible. I could sit all day.
Avatar m tn Im 26 and have been taking adderall for a couple years. I get 60 pills a month. Im suppose to take 2 10mg pills a day every month I get my prescription and I take them all over a course of 1 week. Ive always had depression problems and major anxiety. I dont have adhd problems, I think its a combo of depression and anxiety. When I take them for that week it seems to get rid of my problems, but also kills my senses and emotions. It puts my mind into zombie mode and I feel like a ghost.
Avatar n tn I was on this site before when I was trying to get off vicodin and tramadol and I managed a month before I relapsed. I meet alot of nice and helpful people on this site that helped me alot. Once I relapsed things just started to get worse and deleted my account here cause I felt there was no hope for me. In that time I've been using tramadol, percocets and now my latest addiction adderall. I tried it the first time last week and since then I can't stop.
Avatar f tn Cannabilistic Zombie?
Avatar f tn I've been taking this drug for two years now, but I think I want off. It really did change my life initially; gave me the confidence to drop out of school, transfer to more prestigious school, and change my major to the sciences where before I was a liberal arts major. During my time off I taught myself math and discovered that I am far more capable than I ever imagined. For the first time I had the attention span and the drive to figure out what I wanted out of life.
Avatar n tn Well, you lasted longer than I did. This particular med made me like a zombie, still couldn't sleep, had really strange nightmares, and the creepy crawlies all over me. I stopped on day 13. I'm back to the Adderall when I have to be in town or around people. Other than that I just stay home. At least I'm able to get into working again as it was as if someone had stolen my creative spirit away from me. That's the thing with us ADHD'rs.
636964 tn?1222990085 My husband recently decided that he had ADD so he went to his doctor and got prescribed Ritalin. Ever since he's been on it, he's been a zombie and emotionless. We barely make love anymore and he's also very sensative about things. Now I've heard that sometimes if you really don't have ADD, the medication will affect you different then for someone who really has it. I've discussed this problem several times with my husband but nothing has changed.
Avatar f tn Hello I'm 29 years old and have been taking adderall for several months and have also found it not as effective. I have (rather my doctor has) upped my dose twice and now take 30 mg twice a day. i have read that if you take tums or a teaspoon of baking soda 45 min before dose that it will make it more potent and last longer so I'm willing to try. Basically if ur stomach is too acidic it will eat up the adderall which is a salt. My medicine not working as well frustrates me bad!
Avatar n tn Well, I would recommend not taking zoloft if you are going to take adderall. Apparently, for some people, there could be a drug interaction between the two causing something called Seratonin Surge or seratonin storm. This happened to me and it was pretty scary (you can do a google search on it to find out more), but I didn't find out what it was until after the episode, as none of the doctors or pharmacists apparently knew of this possibility.
Avatar f tn CAn I be denied medication for being bipolar if I admit to using more adderall than was prescribed? Adderall is ruining my life. Im having terrible mood swings, and im sure the mania isn't helping with my depression/anxiety that I have. Im afraid to admitting to needing help I don't want to lose custody of my son? I want to stop cold turkey but I go through terrible withdrawls and I can not afford to miss any work or school?
1240654 tn?1268317515 It basically turned me into a zombie. I went off of it and switched to seroquel, which I prefered. Seroquel causes weight gain and drowsiness, though. I gained about 20 lbs on it. I would take the dose at night but it was so drowsy that I would be hung over in the morning so I started splitting the dose and taking it 3 times a day which meant that I was drowsy all the time but functioning. They recently developed an XR form of Seroquel. I've been on it for 8ish (?) months.
Avatar f tn After partying to hard (only drinking & smoking cig) one weekend this past summer, I developed a case of Shingles on the side of my chest. I'm mid 20s in age. Additionally, my Dermatologist prescribed Acyclovir 800mg x5 Daily for 1 week. When I began taking the medication is when things got a little weird. The first 48 hours, I felt amazing !
Avatar m tn s regiment that works for me...adderall ir 15 mg a.m...then....adderall 15 mg afternoon...then...1 mg Ativan when the afternoon stimulant dose is wearing off for the day. I take the pm adderall does 4 hours after the am dose to "overlap" so no comedown from first does...then when I get the big comedown on its way after the pm does is adderall...
1950374 tn?1332384136 Its just a name, yes its cannabilism but its being called "zombie" because of their.behavior, they are so.out of it not really knowing what's going on, showing absolutely no fear and the growling.
