//www.rxlist.com/adderall-xr-capsules-drug.htm. Adderall XR is normally used so that kids don't have to go to the nurse's office and take the short acting ritalin. Also as I first said it tends to soften the initial action. Heck, Ritalin could be taken 8 times a day - some people probably do. The question is what's best for your child and this is why you are going through a doctor. It will take a bit of trial and error to find what works the best.
Hi JoJo, I am a 30 yr old female and I take a combo of Adderall XR and regular Adderall Here is my schedule: 6am: 20mg xr 10am: 10mg regular 1pm: 20mg xr AND 10mg regular 4pm: 10mg regular So, it's by bodyweight 1mg per 1kg of weight: I weigh 70kg, so 70mg is just right for me, I find that it lasts through 8-9pm, then I take 1mg klonopin to help with the "drop off" and to help me fall asleep.
My stepson takes Adderall XR 20 mg for ADD. There is something about the medicine that I don't understand and I'm hoping that someone can clear it up for me. The information I have found on Adderall suggests that the medication last 6-8 hours for a regular pill and longer for the extended release tablets. However, the medication bottle says that my stepson should not miss a dose or discontinue without talking to the doctor.

Adderal is amphetamine. It's XR which will make it last longer. Can anyone bring you EmergenC and Muscle Milk? It doesn't sound like you can drive. How are you feeling now, do you think you are peaking now?
My son has just started Adderall XR, after several years of no meds. He is starting very low (5 mg.) and building up because he has had some bad reactions to other meds in the past. I am wondering f you have a teen on Adderall XR, what their dosage is....
About 2 1/2 years ago, I started taking Adderral XR 10 mg twice a day; I am currently taking 30 mg of Adderral XR 2 times a day. XR stands for Extended Release. Sometimes, if I have that paper that I have been putting off due tomorrow, I’ll pop an extra. But recently whether it’s a paper, late night of drinking, extra computer time, , I’ll take one before bed and 2 the next day, note that is 150 mg in my body on occasion…”Where is my doctor in this picture?” you ask.

I should also mention that I am on 30 mg of Adderall XR for ADD. My Dr. decided to switch me to Wellbutrin XR which would also help me quit smoking. He had me drop down to 75 mg of the Effexor for a few days, then to 37.5 for another 2-3 days. The first day off the Effexor, I experienced increasing nausea, vertigo and a "slushy" head. The next two days, the symptoms increased. There was some confusion as to whether it was the Wellbutrin or the Effexor that was causing the symptoms.
Im a current addict (i abuse it) of this drug and Im struggling to get off it. Adderall can have many many side effects. If your son keeps having those symptoms try and talk to your doctor.
I recently diagnosed myself with adhd, i load up on coffee all day too function, have no attention span, never finish tasks, all the symptoms of innatentive adhd. I tried adderall for the first time and all the symtoms went away. The adderall was from a friend. I felt like this was my answer in life. After the first time of trying it I went to my primary who said i might have it and reffered me to a psyciatrist. That appointment was in 2 weeks from talking to the primary.
Have a friend whos son is on Adderall and is going to try and 'wean' over the summer. She wants to know what might happen...I was of no help, then I thought of my friends here...so...I'm asking....what, if any, symptoms should he expect? I believe he's taken it for about two years. I don't know the frequency, probably once a day...he's 15...and, yes, he's one who truly did need something...since he was little...at any rate...
I took adderall with effexor xr for 5 years when I was in high school. However, adderall taken on its own is just like any stimulant. So it would depend on how you react to stimulants.
I'm 25 and prescribed Adderall XR 25 1 per day, for 3 years, and a 10 mg on occasion extra, ok'd be Dr. I recently got married and we want to start a family , so I've decided to quit the Adderall and with the guidance of the Dr I will be tapering off. Today is my first day tapering and I no longer am taking the XR's, today I'm going to start using the regular 10's: 1 per day for 5 days, then 1/2 per day for 5 days.
Hamilton score last Thursday, 38. GAF 50. My P Doc discussed that I might also be displaying some symptoms of ADD, that Adderall XR would be worth a try. My possible ADD symptoms are: a) Lose my keys every single day. Always find them in a new, unique location. b) Often have a hard time talking. My mind is racing on multiple tasks at any given time. c) If I am talking, and someone interrupts me, it is almost as if I am startled.
Hey all, The Psychiatrist said he was willing to treat the symptoms that I'm experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?
Would it be better to just increase the Effexor XR for my body weight? Or is too early to do that? Does the generic Adderall have the same effect as dexedrine? I felt nothing the day I took the Adderall, so did not take it again. The rest of the week I was really snapping at my students. Is there a rebound effect from the generic Adderall? My other choice is Wellbutrin for the Limbic ADD.
I stopped drinking caffeine for a couple of months while taking the wellbutrin and I felt lousey I would hardly smile or cared to do anything, My psychologist said that it seems that I need stimulation so it should help to be on a higher dose of adderall XR, I am wondering if the celexa is to high of a doseage?
I took a break for about 6 months, and now, going back to school I have started back up on Adderall 20 mg XR capsule. I see more side effects with this med than I ever did with the IR- Headaches, "lump in throat" 5 hrs in, severe appitite suppresion, and nausea to the point that I have to lay down for up to 2 hours.
Im an adult ADD who has successfully treated with Dexadrine XR spanules for 5 years or so, until this past summer when my employer changed insurance plans to some new insurance plan that does not at all cover Dexadrine Spanules. So unless I want to pay $350+ per prescription for a month, its a non-option. So, my Dr. prescribed me adderal 10mg XR instead, since its covered at an intermediate level by my insurance plan, only a $30 a month co-pay. (Old plan used to be $10 a month).
' When I started to develop a slight apathy, and weight gain related to that apathy, I was reduced to 50mg zoloft. About a year later I was prescribed adderall (10mg XR) and noticed it had a tremendous effect on my attention and concentration. I've been taking Effexor XR for at least five years, and before that I was on another brand of anti-depressant. I have tried to wean myself off this medication before, as I hope to become pregnant, and it's effects on the unborn child were/are still unknown. I decreased from 150 mg to 75 mg, then spent about two weeks on 37 mg then stopped, but terrible withdrawl symptoms forced me to take it again 150 mg. I also kept taking the contraceptive pill.
Are you taking Adderall XR or Adderall? Is it a capsule or a tablet?
I noticed I was particularly cold this winter. I am 34 and was officially diagnosed and started on adderall xr in Sept. My feet in particular have been freezing! Not numb or blue, just cold. I thought I might have become anemic due to the weight loss since the meds, so I saw the doctor. Blood tests are fine. I had a blood flow study on my legs yesterday and will be having a muscle nerve conduction test next week. It was just last week, though, that I noticed that my feet are sweating.
My 12 yr old son has been on adderall for the last several years. We started on concerta but he was loosing weight on those but he also had a rotovirus right after he was put on them. Then we went to straterra (non stimulant) but we didnt see much of a difference then went on to adderall. Recently I have been wanting to take him off the meds if possible... we tried it, tapered him down off of them over a 3 wk period but it doesnt seem to be time for him.
I understand where you are coming from. I take Adderall XR 30mg twice a day, and Adderall 30mg tablets, I usually break the tablet into four, and only take 1/4 as needed. I am really paranoid all the time, about everything. I also get really nervous when i am in social situations. I have bitten my nails to the point where they actually hurt and look awful.
I was diagnosed with MS about 6 months ago. I was prescribed Adderall by my nerologist to help me with my fatigue. Before I started taking the med I couldn't function after being awake for 8 hours and I was missing 2 to 3 days of work a week. Since I started taking it my productivity at work has increased, and I haven't missed any days. I also can have a social life now because I don't want to just go home and go to bed after work.
