I've been off of adderall for about 6 days now. I've been very depressed (literally lying on the floor, staring at the ceiling) and somewhat nauseated that entire time. However, I am also 6 weeks pregnant, and I have chronic mild depression anyway. I was using 10-20 mg per day (more than it sounds like, for someone my size) , for about a year. So, how long can I expect the withdrawal symptoms to last, and how much of what I'm experiencing do you think is from withdrawal?
and a short acting adderall at noon also 30mg. Since back on adderall ...very motivated at times but moody , not sleeping , and so many mood swings and side effects. It makes him very tired at times and lay in bed all day. Could some of what he is dealing with be a side effects from coming off the prozac? How do you know what is what? Since back on adderall he's a rollercoaster of side effects.
OK..what is my point.....I would like him to go off all the meds for a while to see....

Are there other people out there that are prescribed Adderall for depression? Also how many MG do you take? I am curious to see if I'm prescribed a "normal" amount. I currently take 2, 30mg Adderall XR daily (morning, afternoon) and 1, 10mg Instant Release Adderall around 7:00pm. 70mgs of Adderall total a day.

My dose and dependency level are both higher than they have been in the past, and I'm planning to start a family, so I need to quit, and I've scheduled winter vacation to do that.
I took a pill holiday, and for several days afterwards while on my regular regimen again, I experienced my depression symptoms. Does the lack of Adderall somehow affect the chemical balance, or does it make the affects of Sertraline less effective? I read that Sertraline amplifies the effects of Adderall, but I'm wondering if the negative inverse is true - does lack of Adderall impede Sertraline in any way?

Ok here goes. I have been abusing adderall xr with high doses for a while and need to quit cold turkey. I can't go to anyone for help in fear of losing my great job and family. I take seizure medication and want to know if withdrawal will cause a seizure? HELP ME PLEASE!
Then the following day is marked by apathy and irritability. Symptoms improve after one day of no Adderall (and a break helps prevent tolerance). Taking Adderall also increases my heart rate, and I feel physically more nervous, despite anxious thoughts not being present. I would like to remain on Adderall, as the treatment for my ADHD has given me a substantial boost in confidence and learning, which has been invaluable and overshadows its negatives.
Adderall is a cakewalk compared to opiates. You will be just fine. Kids stay on adderall and still get into Harvard--in fact, kids are purposefully getting on adderall to improve their grades.
Coming off something like adderall is in no way, shape or form as hard as painkillers so I know you can do it. Just drink lots of juice, have some tylenol just in case.

That being said I think your anxiety must be to the roof and I would gradually reduce the Prozac like you are doing and maybe halting the tapering the week before and during your vacations to avoid severe withdrawal symptoms but you may still get withdrawal symptoms. Does the withdrawal symptoms are worse than the adverse-effects you were getting on a full dose? Wellbutrin and Adderall is really not helping your anxiety and you should consider that.
I know no one here is really qualified to answer this, but how would you think a low dose (10mg) of adderalls stimulating effects, compare to drinking energy drinks, and using nicotine several times a day (I chew, about 3 times per day). I am on a low dose of adderall, 5mg twice per day, it should probably be more but it has a positive effect and im comfortable with it right now.
I don't know if I can ever get my **** together. It has been six years of nothing but addiction and chaos now. I once went to college and earned a B.A. I once was a writer at a paper, I once worked at a TV news station, I had a license, my own apartment, you name it. I think my head is so messed up I will never be the same. Basically detox even on a taper (I'm addicted to Adderall and Ativan) will be painful and maybe not even realistic.
You should discuss it with your doctor. Adderall withdrawal can cause major depression, which can last a long time..
My dr added adderal to my prozac and xanx he says i have refractory depression or something like that,i felt better yesterday after taking the adderall...but i hear im at higher risk for serotoyin syndrome....any others on these meds..
will clonazepam help with withdrawal from adderall? i know that the withdrawal will make me sleepy and tired, but will using the clonazepam img make it worse?
I have been taking Celexa and adderall together for about a year now and things have been working great.
My only problem has been the sexual side-effects which have made my sex drive almost nothing. Because I entered into a serious relationship within these past couple months my doctor and I started discussing potential drugs that would increase my libido. She suggested Buspar. However, I have only been taking Buspar for two days and feel like it is having a counteractive affect on my adderall.
Withdrawal from adderall would be much like that of cocaine..not alot of physical symptoms like narcotis..but mental wds..depression and anxiety and such...if you have a doctor to talk with about it perhaps he can prescribe something to help you cope with quitting...a friend quit amphetamines and she had a sleep med, and anti-dep, and an anti-anxiety med prescribed for detox which they told her was not life threatening to cold turkey so she did...
im also on wellbutrin,well weight gain and other problems dr said to cut back on prozac 10 mg a week,been doing that im down to 30 mg but i have bad depression like when i first began prozac,i was added a estrogen patch this past friday,i have no energy and im tired all the time..
not personal experience with adderall....but it is normal to feel fatigue with adderall wd...it is not life threatening and for the most part it is a mental wd vs narcotics being both/mental and physical...the fatigue is common among narc wds as both drugs supply extra endorphins to the brain//many feel fatigue after narcotic cessation to be a physical symptom like the runs...but it is a result of taking endorphins away and waiting on the brain to "catch up" on endorphin production....
The doc prescribed me Adderall 20mg XR. One per day. At first my life simply put, turned around overnight. I just had a bad break-up with my long-term girlfriend but instead of sitting at home watching ESPN; I was out and about! Exercising, lifting weights, making new friends, reading a lot more (mostly self-help books) and overall feeling like this life of mine is now mine to live for the first time!
does anyone know how long it will take the adderall to help my depression,,,he is usinfg it off label....
I have been on stimulant medications since I was in the 2nd grade for my diagnosis of ADD. I am now a college freshman. A good 5 years ago, I began taking adderall, deciding it would be most effective in treating my tendency towards distraction (According to the doctor, there is no hyperactivity). My dosage is currently 90 mg, and has been such for approximately 1 1/2 years. I am instructed to take 60 mg in the morning, and another 30 in the evening.
