Adderall weight loss stories

Common Questions and Answers about Adderall weight loss stories

adderall

I am familiar with some of the side effects as far as nausea, suppressed appetite, weight loss, headaches, and most of all insomnia. Would you say that insomnia is an idicator of to much or too little a dose? Insomnia would seem to be a negative side affect, considering that sleep, and restful sleep, is most crucial to ones health and well being. This is very much a concern I have in regards to using adderol as a treatment for ADHD.
It should take about 2 months to get to that dosage but I'm getting kinda excited hearing about the benefit of weight loss especially since it was weight loss pills (metabolife and xenedrine) that caused me to find out that I was epileptic in the first place! The doctor told me that i might get tingling in my fingers and i might feel a little dopy but happy dopy he described it as, so I figure i can deal with that! If I start losing weight at a rapid pace i'll definitely post again!
I would say that it is a 50/50 chance whether you would lose weight in the long run as the product wasn't designed as a weight loss product. (but I'm not a doctor so your dr. might be able to tell you what to expect).
using pot and adderall doesn't seem like a good combo..i'd like to hear other's stories who use adderall atleast every other day and smoke pot like 2-10 times a day. lol..
I have started taking Effexor a few months back and started a diet also (Weight Watchers). I have managed to loss 19 lbs but did hit a plateau for about 3 weeks. The Effexor did wonders for me mentally and so far I have managed to stay on the diet. I hope that I can continue.
I've done some research and it seems some of the newer drugs (Effexor and Cymbalta) don't cause weight gain for as many people. In fact some cause weight loss. Has anyone had a good experience with Effexor/Effexor XR or Cymbalta?

I have been on Welbutrin for almost 4 months now and have noticed weight gain of about 8-10 pounds and I'm not eating anymore than I use to. I'm wondering if the 'weight-gain'/'weight-loss' issue is affected by whether or not people 'need' to lose weight before they start taking it. I consider myself to have a fairly high metabolism and I can maintain my weight quite easily. I know what causes me to gain weight and what I need to do to lose it.
I have been reading about the effects of Adderall. I have noticed in my son and step-son both that they have dispayed some signs of Autism. I was wondering if it was a possibility that it could be another long term adverse effect of the Adderall? They have become very nervous and fidgety, neither were before taking this medication. My step-son has the most severe sypmtoms.
I'm not sure that Wellbutrin is a weight loss miracle. For me, I've noticed that it curbs my appetite tremendously. I forget that I'm even hungry. I see that others feel the opposite, so it depends on the person. But I did switch drugs because I was on Zoloft for a year and a half and gained 30 lbs. and could not, for the life of me, lose any of it. I could eat 700 calories a day and exercise 30 minutes a day and still not lose one pound.
I understand that it takes a long time to get this drug out of your system and the weight loss is very slow. I think that most of the 4 pound weight loss is because I fasted for a few days and took UltraClear which is a powdered "metabolic detoxification" product you mix with water. I used to only be able to get it through a doctor but now it is avaibale on the internet. It is a de-tox flush that I thought would help get Lexapro out of my system. I think it has helped.
boosting his self-confidence and assuring him he is loved and safe in his home (there has never been any type of incident that would justify his fear/behavior, and he had these night fears prior to being put on the Adderall XR); limiting caffeine intake; increasing daily activity, reading bedtime stories together, and he even has a consistent bedtime of 9:30 p.m. He has woken as early as 2:30 to 4:30 a.m.
Rashes any time i'm exposed to heat, not related to dehydration Excessive body hair growth (following the removal of adrenal gland) Weight gain/loss without change in lifestyle or eating habbits With these symptoms doctors have been checking one at a time, which is how each one of my prior diagnoses had been found. My most recent symptoms (The past 6 months-1 year) are what scare me, these include: Lymph nodes as well as glands swollen (for about 3 months now without catching a cold/virus..
a few instances of scalp hair loss. In children, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, weight loss during prolonged therapy, insomnia, and tachycardia may occur more frequently; however, any of the other adverse reactions listed above may also occur. Not so harmless is it? BTW despite what anyone tells you Ritalin is not approved for under 6 year olds, any doctor prescribing to this age group is taking a dangerous step as it has not been tested or monitored.
First of all I am not a nurse ot doctor but I wanted to comment on the hair loss. I have also been prescribed topamax for pain, mood stabilizer and weight loss so I have been looking a lot on the net. I have seen a few things about hair loss. I wanted to comment on that. I have been a hairstylist for 24 years and one thing that I have noticed without doubt is that when one of my customers loses a significant amount of weight (25 lbs or more) they always have a loss of hair.
Dear Bo, Wellbutrin SR (Bupropion) is an antidepressant that was shown not to have any sexual side effects. About 25% of the patients who were taking this medication showed some weight loss . It is preferred to gradually taper Effexor over a few weeks in order to prevent any withdrawal symptoms. Abrupt discontinuation of Effexor can lead to withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, insomnia, lightheadedness etc. These symptoms may last for a period of few days to a week.
you should look at some of the other post on this forum about the hair loss ! the migraine loss and weight is great but the hair loss is not! good luck !
It's main use is for weight loss. Therefore necessitating a visit for new perscrip every month. My insurance pays for it with no questions.......this from a company who will not authorize a MRI on my lumbar spine. My old one is over a year old, and am having great deal of pain walking. Said I hadn't tried conservative measures, such as PT, anti-inflammatories, etc. My PCP didn't want me doing PT until we found out if bulging disc was worse. I ended up doing 24 sessions, with no change in sx.
The headaches have improved and I can't wait until the FDA officially approves it for weight loss. So what if the soda tastes bad. Who needs it.
My 10 year son has been on Adderall for a little over 2 months now. He was moody, distant, and very emotional. The doctor is now switching him to Concerta. Any thought son this medication? I am new at trying to deal with ADHA, my son is diagnosed with the concentration protion of ADHA. He can not focus for the life of him!
I eat very healthy and well balanced, and exercise daily, though find having to eat ice cream and more carbs to gain weight as I am constantly cold, prior to Xanax when I was anxious I would break a sweat and completly go mind blank. I have pretty bad night sweats now though, and I sweat heavily under my armpits and drink about 4 gallons of water or gatorade a day as I am constantly thirsty. Though I think this has to do with the Pritiq. I read through this woman's manual: http://www.benzo.
The topamax is still working great for me and I am unsure if the weight loss is attributed to the levels of cortisol dropping in my body or the topamax but either way i will take it and I have only had less than a dozen moderate headaches,,,,headaches!!! not even a migraine since I started the stuff. I'd take 3 migraines a week frankly and be happy with that!! I'm hoping after my B12 goes up, maybe I won't need the topamax anymore or maybe even my anti depressant too.
I have learned how to eat healthy from Weightwatchers, and have maintained my 44lb weight loss for 2 years now. I eat protein, take vitamins, etc. I have tried the no sugar, yeast, tomato, dairy, etc diet: all together, just missing one at a time, etc, but it did not help. I am tested every year for thyroid problems, have been tested for Lymes disease, and the inability to absorb Vitamin B- All normal. The energy level has not been as bad as it currently is.
2010 - Phentermine 30mg/day (took only 15mg though, didn’t need full dose) to lose weight – found it helped with ADHD (later discovered it is an ADHD med, although not a very effective one so they use it for weight loss now…). The dry mouth and extreme irritability (low blood sugar?) were causing problems with life relationships so I stopped. 2011 (July) – Adipex 37.5mg – went to family dr to get help again (problems at work). 2nd evaluation.
with adderall cause it will cause problems. also i don't want to gain any weight.

She had me stand on a box, put my weight on one leg, and reach behind me with my other leg, tap the floor, bring the foot up without touching the box, and repeating 10 times. By #9 on the second leg, I totally lost my balance, fell sideways off the box, landed on my left leg (tweaked my bad knee), stumbled across the gym sidestepping until I wrapped both arms around the front of an exercise bicycle.
Lamictal - (from same Internist for Bipolar) Headache and nausea, dizziness Zyprexa - (from same Internist for Bipolar, no clue why he gave me this) Only taken once, incredibly frightening experience, disorientation, blurred vision, hallucinations, loss of motor functions Adderall XR - Eliminated anxiety by helping me focus, however anxiety increased as medication wore off which I could not tolerate. The depression began when I loss the ability to concentrate on even simple things. I couldn't think like I used to, my mind was blurry all the time, and this led to extreme frustration with lowering grades and the inability to even do the most simple assignment or exam. This is 5 years later, at age 23, and I am in my 6th year of undergraduate schooling with no plans, no drive, no ambition, no major!!!
