Common Adderall side effect indeed include constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, nervousness, restlessness, stomach pain or upset, trouble sleeping, weight loss, weakness and the unpleasant taste you mentioned. You could discuss this with your attending physician for possible dose adjustment or shift to other medication. Take care and best regards.
Last year I stopped taking my 30mg XR adderall because of weight-loss problems. Now i am a generally healthy boy and the only condition I have is asthma, which I out-grew years ago. Last night around eight o'clock I took one of my old 30mg XR capsules to see if it would help me with a big homework assignment. Now it is 8 o'clock the next morning and I haven't slept, there is a tightness around my heart/chest, and I feel like my body really wants to move.
Over the past 6 months I have gained 30 pounds. I have OCD and was put on Lexapro along with other meds which really put the weight on fast. My doctor swithced my meds to Zoloft, Serequel, Anfranil, Klonopin, and Proprnolol for my anxiety and OCD. My OCD is finally under control but now all I do is obsess about my weight. It is really impacting my social life. I currently take 25mg of topamax in the morning and 50mg at night.
My 11 year old son is currently taking Dexadrine. He has slowly increased to 20 mg in the morning. His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite.
I remember being a puffy mute on lexapro and zyprexa. Not only was my usual 130 pound jewish frame elevated to 170 within months I felt suicidal for the first time in my life. I found a combo of wellbutrin/zoloft that seems to serve me well. After hearing my complaints of fatigue he added adderall. It does help but it's but you can develop tolerance fairly quickly and it's drawing on your body's essential vitality (chi) to do this.

I know that a side effect of Adderall is increased anxiety, and in turn high blood pressure, which in some people can lead to nosebleeds. I also wonder whether rapid weight loss (BMI 21.1 to 19.4 in 2 months) and increased blood pressure (from 119/80 to 146/96 in 2 months) together might make nosebleeds more likely.
I've been taking regular adderall (non xr) for 10t years for ADHD. The medicine does help with the ADHD but I'm concerned with the long term effects. I know Adderall can cause weight loss /decrease appetite as a side effect. With the exception of the past couple of years I was able to keep my wieight down partly due to the drug. However the past 2 years or so I seem to be gaining wieight.
t really mind (dry mouth, loss of appetite, more outgoing/energy, weight loss) but I do have one strange one that I'm not too sure about.
I take my adderall after I eat a full breakfast, which is normally my only meal of the day (adderall dismisses my appetite). After about an hour of taking my medication, I have to go to the bathroom. I don't have an upset stomach, nausea, or anything like that, I just feel that pressure you get when you know you have to make a bowel movement.
My doctor also prescribed Phenteramine 37.5 mg for weight loss. I take both together in the morning. I do go to him every month and have a check up so he can check my blood pressure...it is always low anyways. But he does keep a close eye on me. Also, if I have something stressfull happen in my life, I drop the phenterimine for a couple of days to prevent an anxidy attack. Phenteramine does make you anxious,,, more so than the adderall or Concerta.
She called the DEA and then called the weight loss doctor. The weight loss doc is the one that called me. Told me what the pharmacist said. I am fine with quitting the subox, i might need one more month to do it. And I'm fine with quitting the other. But...could i be in trouble with the DEA? I know i can't go back to the weight loss clinic. But I'm supposed to see the subox doc tomorrow. Should i call the DEA myself,explain? I didn't realize it was a problem....

Concerta is the same drug as Ritalin, I believe, and could well be the cause of your wakefulness and loss of appetite. I take Adderall, a similar drug, to cope with fatigue, and it does dampen my hunger, for sure. It's a good consequence for me, if unintended. I take 20mg of the extended release type each morning, and can feel it wearing off by mid-afternoon. It doesn't affect my sleep.
It's possible your dosage is too high, so a consultation with your doctor is order.
Main one is sleep, I think I slept 3 hours last night and thats turning into the normal. Also weight loss is great but I want it to be safe and so far it's been 9lbs in a week. Advice on eating? Food just doesn't sound good and literally have to choke it down when I do eat. Right now I'm averaging about 400 calories a day and I know that's not healthy. Thanks everyone.
My Dr prescribed me Adderall for managing cognitive symptoms and processing speed deficits from my TBI. It fairly common. I can multitask and have much less nuerofatigue.

youngest is 11 and was on adderall for two years and I put him a natural supplement of vitamins this year. so far so good. he's skinny and I didn't like the weight loss issues.
I know the dosages go by weight and both drugs are different.
I was on Adderall for a very short period in 2003. I lost a great deal of weight. I tapered off of it only to find the massive weight loss was due to my malfunctioning gall bladder. It was then that my life changed drastically!! I suffered complications after the surgery to remove my gallbladder, spleen and appendix. I was on narcotic meds for almost 2 years. It didnt take long for me to become powerless to opiates.

Adderall can cause anorexia,weight loss and abdominal pain but it causing taste of blood in mouth is not documented.You are having dysguesia i.e bitter or bad taste in mouth. It can be due to dental caries, gastro-esophageal reflux disease,sinusitis causing post nasal drip,salivary glands infection,pharyngitis or strep infection, medications like antibiotics, vitamins and antidepressants, poor oral hygiene, copper or lead toxicity and Sjogren’s syndrome.Can you identify any of these?
i'm a 24 year old male, don't know if this is the right place to be but i'm looking for some different opinions for a situation that i'm having. I've been on Adderall for about 6 months now and everything has been going fine, until now.
Before getting on the drug, I've been warned about the Appetite sepressant that it is. Although, the medicine was great in that area, i went from 283 lbs in May 08 to 209 lbs Nov.
