There definately is a difference between Ritalin and Adderall. Adderall is stronger. For instance, if a person is on 30mg of Adderall and wants to switch to Ritalin,..you will need aprox. 50 to 60mg of Ritalin to be equivelant to the 30mg of Adderall. I am on 60mg of Adderall daily. I wanted to try Ritalin again just for the heck of it. I have shown proof from reliable sources, to my Doc that he needs to give me MORE than 60mg Ritalin for it to be effective as 60mg Adderrall.
was on adderall for 4 months 10 mg a day and now have switched to ritalin (its a long story) and 5mg not enough so i went up to another 5 a day. Seems to help but i feel abit impatient, given to impatience and easily annoyed lately is anyone experiencing these as sdie effects? I also take celexa and wellbutrin for depression and adderal was introduced because i was becoming depressed again feeling unmotivated and frankly lethargic....i worry i am doing a "bad" thing to my head....
your son has apparently experienced positive results with Concerta which is a form of methylphenidate, while Adderall is a form of dextroamphetamine (Ritalin and Dexedrine). Frequently the forms of methylphenidate work better for ADHD Hyperactive while the dextroamphetamines work better for the Inattentive.

how long does ritalin take to work im on 10 mg but could take another 10 in the afternoon i was on 30 mg adderall i heard ritalin is stronger..im scared i will be allegic to ritalin as im afraid i will allergic to all new meds..and it is deiffernt than adderall pharmist said she has rarely heard of anyone being alletgic to these kinds of drugs but i thought i was having hard time breathing yesterday..does anyone else drink a couple beers with their ritalin.....
Maybe the drop in BP is related to the switch from Adderall to Ritalin. Adderall is known to increases blood pressure by a lot so stopping it will of course drop your BP.
I would continue to monitor your BP and see. If the blood pressure keeps getting lower then I would report back to your doctor but I'm pretty sure it is due to no more Adderall and new Ritalin.
Today I did not take the Ritalin and felt no spasms. On the other hand, my doc told me to take the Ritalin constantly. I tried to take it only when I needed to concentrate at work and not on days I don´t have to work. He told me it is not good to interrupt intake like that.
I am very interested in knowing your experience with Adderal and Wellbutrin. Did your doctor check your clinical history to be sure that there is no high risk of seizures?

I have ADD, though some have said ADHD. It's been since I was a child that I tried medicines. I was on Ritalin, Dexadrine, Adderall, and I'm not sure what else. Now years later my new doctor is suggesting Concerta as the best to try.
What have you tried? How have they all worked for you? Which do you prefer and why?
i do not know if you are still trying to stop with an aide but my frind has tried with adderall and suboxone or whatever it is called and this ruined his ability to get a high while on it which is a good thing and did help him to stop mostly even when he relapsed but he was pissed he didnt get high b ut that was the point to stop and i dont know if that helps.
I am a 48 year old male business person. I have been on Adderall for about one year. I have been able to focus much better (and not lose my keys), but my mind is shackled to"just the facts". My creative thinking ability has nearly dissappeared and I seem to be slow to respond to any question requiring more than a simple answer. Additionally, my positive attitude had departed also.
For the past three weeks I have been trying Ritalin.
i find i can concentrate much better now and get on with alot of things i couldnt before, however, i get side effects from taking it, i lose my appeitie alot of the time so therefore i have very little control over my weight lose/gain, I also take Temazepam at night to try and help me sleep as that can sometimes be rather hard to wind down. this is also a side effect of Ritalin. i take a form of Ritalin called Concerta which is a 12 hour slow release.
But I really feel that Ritalin or adderall will really help me. There were a lot of people I knew in high school that used adderall to help them with school that didn't really need it, but it really helped them they said, but I really honestly feel that I need it. What do you guys think? Do you think that this will help? Do you think that having anxiety and a prescription to Xanax will make it so I will be unable to have a prescription of adderall or Ritalin?
I wasn't sure where to ask this question so if it's in the wrong forum I apologize, but I have a question reguarding adderall. I don't have add or adhd, and i understand the problems doctors have had with adderall abuse. Despite this fact, I have used another person's perscribed adderall a few times. What im wondering is if adderall is only used to treat adhd and narcolepsy. I have always had low self confidence, so low that I would barely talk to anyone.
