your son has apparently experienced positive results with Concerta which is a form of methylphenidate, while Adderall is a form of dextroamphetamine (Ritalin and Dexedrine). Frequently the forms of methylphenidate work better for ADHD Hyperactive while the dextroamphetamines work better for the Inattentive. Which is your son? To compound matters further if he is an "active" young man, is his activity "motor" or "distractablitIy" driven?

Both Dexedrine and Adderall work great for me.

I was able to get the 120 mg of Adderall xr , and I was feeling better. I wanted to give Dexedrine a chance so as to take a break from Adderall, I was given Dexedrine spansules 90 mg. It is smoother compared to the Adderall, but it doesn't last long as the 120 of Adderall. Dexedrine did bring hope to me as in being another choice other than Adderall, but the 90 mg is not doing it. I was thinking about increasing that dose, and my doctor said that there was a possibility of it.

hi. i have been prescribed adderall before, but the only downfall for me is the comedown. I get all jittery and generally just feel bad.. my friend who is prescribed recommended me dexedrine, he says because it is pure dextroamphetamine and that there are no salts that the comedown isn't as harsh, is this true? i really wanna try this stuff out for my adhd, so how would i go about telling my doctor i would like to try it so i dont end up sounding like i just want drugs?

This makes those with sinus issues breath easier. Another drug , called Dexedrine which is almost exactly the same as Adderall was previously in the past prescribed for this very reason, among other medical reasons. The over the counter Sudafed which contains Pseudoephedrine do the same thing and are marketed for congested nose. If you're looking for relief from this I suggest the Sudafed.

While I ran out of my regular capsules, a friend of mine offered to share a DEXEDRINE 10mg. After having used the DEXEDRINE just once I have had an amplified effects of the adderall and even two days after, I find it difficult to get an erection though I am usually an extremely driven (horny) sexual individual who is also sexually active.

So that must be a new one as well? Also I used to take Adderall XR and that is a great medicine as well. I just took it for so long that it started to not work and help me the same way anymore.

t have to taper off adderall. Pentermine side effects say to not drink coffee, Adderall does not. You may have felt like crap because you stopped the pentermine. You need to talk to your doc. The problem quite possible could be the interactions of what you are taking. You really sound like you were over dosing and I think that could have been the drug combo.

I'm on Dexedrine Spansules for ADD this is the same as Adderall except its a tad stronger. Your Addderall is formulated to be taken as one dose in the morning the peak plasma half life is 8 to 9 hours oppsed to 2 to 3 with immediate release formulations. So take full dose at 8 am and your sleeping pills will then work better.

I've been taking regular adderall (non xr) for 10t years for ADHD. The medicine does help with the ADHD but I'm concerned with the long term effects. I know Adderall can cause weight loss /decrease appetite as a side effect. With the exception of the past couple of years I was able to keep my wieight down partly due to the drug. However the past 2 years or so I seem to be gaining wieight.

Hello I'm 29 years old and have been taking adderall for several months and have also found it not as effective. I have (rather my doctor has) upped my dose twice and now take 30 mg twice a day. i have read that if you take tums or a teaspoon of baking soda 45 min before dose that it will make it more potent and last longer so I'm willing to try. Basically if ur stomach is too acidic it will eat up the adderall which is a salt. My medicine not working as well frustrates me bad!

I have recently been prescribed Adderall XR 20 mg for adult ADHD. I have been diagnosed with mild COPD. I am currently on an Albuterol Inhaler as needed, which luckily isn't very often. There definately is a difference between Ritalin and Adderall. Adderall is stronger. For instance, if a person is on 30mg of Adderall and wants to switch to Ritalin,..you will need aprox. 50 to 60mg of Ritalin to be equivelant to the 30mg of Adderall. I am on 60mg of Adderall daily. I wanted to try Ritalin again just for the heck of it. I have shown proof from reliable sources, to my Doc that he needs to give me MORE than 60mg Ritalin for it to be effective as 60mg Adderrall.

t have tried it on his own but I figure as long as he actually does have a prescription for both, the vyvanse works late into the afternoon anyways, and the adderall in the afternoon vs in the morning is still taking it as prescribed, as long as he doesn't abuse his max dose . I mean I have SO many extra pills and every now and then I take 40 adderall instead of the vyvanse all together.

I have been on stimulant medications since I was in the 2nd grade for my diagnosis of ADD. I am now a college freshman. A good 5 years ago, I began taking adderall, deciding it would be most effective in treating my tendency towards distraction (According to the doctor, there is no hyperactivity).
