bacterial infections! So I started researching side effects to Adderall and after much digging around I finally came across a post in a woman's forum regarding a common STD which is a bacterial infection and the women were discussing Adderall. Sure enough, there were tons of ladies complaining that they have had an increase in all that is bacterial infections since taking the medicine. It seems to be linked, Bacterial Infections and Adderall.

I have recently been diagnosed with ADD and I'm currently taking Adderall (generic) 20mg twice a day. I've been taking this for about a month now with no unusual side effects except for one which has just recently developed... This is somewhat weird to describe but I keep getting a serious burning sensation on my skin around my inner thigh on my right leg.

I do smoke cigarettes and have coffee every day, which may also increase these side effects. I am nervous for my health, but do realize that for the most part I never get these tics or nervousness in my heart. My heart rate usually does not increase and I do not have shortness of breath.

I have asked my pychiatrist- she says any type of amphetamine drug can have this affect due to the effect on the central nervous system. My boyfriend is a surgeon he thinks I've been completely misdiagnosed & the drug is making my body go into over-drive- causing me to get 'high' from an over production of dopamine, rather than an increase in focus & attention. He's prob correct; but I am a writer & I get so much more work completed when I take the Adderall.

For the first few weeks I had no unpleasant side effects other than not wanting to eat and dry mouth. However, several days ago late at night (6 hours after taking my last dose) I experienced a rapid, pounding heartbeat which scared me. Why would I experience that 6 hours after taking a 10mg dose? And why would those side effects appear weeks after taking the medication with no problems?

Im 25 and i was diagnosed with Adult Adhd just over 2 years ago, i was put on to Ritalin right from the start, altho it has so many side effects, i get on with it pretty ok.

Definitely weird side effects. Adderall takes at least 20 to 30 min. to take effect and I assume the problems happen after this. Do talk with you doctor. You could try a regular adderall so it doesn't last as long and try only a small dose. There are meds for vertigo and even things like ginger hard candies which work for seasickness. Being bed ridden is the last thing you need. You need to be getting in good long walks, etc.

hi, concerta ,and stratara, and all the others my doc put me on didn't come close to adderall. focalin worked to but was costly. adderall leavels your brain, and lets you be yourself. the way your supose to be.

I take adderall (10mg) for focus management. However each time you up the dosage it seems to take about a year or so until my mind slows down again while on the medication. 3 weeks would not be long enough for prozac to start working properly, but it can still cause side effects in that time, and if the side effects are bad then it's not unusual for a doctor to take their patient straight off it as there wont be withdrawl symptoms unless the patient has been on it for quite a while.

Im a current addict (i abuse it) of this drug and Im struggling to get off it. Adderall can have many many side effects. If your son keeps having those symptoms try and talk to your doctor.

My daughter has been on Adderall imediate release twice a day for a year now for ADHD and has no side effects. She actually is a better eater and sleeps better with it. I am not sure why you take it but i do know that the XR did give her bad side effects. She was more hyper and was losing weight. Maybe you could try the 20 milligrams of the immediate release instead of the XR twice a day or even a lower dose. You maybe sensitive to the high of a dose.
