Adderall side effects anger

Common Questions and Answers about Adderall side effects anger

adderall

my adult son takes adderall xr daily with no anger problems. his doctor said anger problems are very common with adderall use and should be reported to doctor. if anger is an issue adderall should not be used.
Not to mention, I was never told of any potential dependencies or addictions, I was never told of potentially hazardous side effects. I was told this when I asked "Is there anything good or bad I should know about when I take this? What side effects, if any should be normal or abnormal?" Psychiatrist response was this word for word "No, no side effects, it can keep you awake. Adderall is a great new medicine that will work well for you, it is getting great response.
I don't have any children, so I can't relate to the taking a child off and how that works, but I do want to point out that anger is one of the side effects listed for Adderall under the category "contact your physician" section. I can imagine how frustrating this is for you as a parent, but I can also relate with your son in that at that age I didn't like the way the medicine made me feel, and the trial/error of this med and that med made it even more frustrating.
well heres my babble your right I was the one who took extra not the doctor but doctors should be informed on side effects and limitations of medication. If were a anti depressant we were talking about the doctor who of been sympthtic to the signs of withdrawl and supported it.I also question why so many people on this board think there addicts when they have REAL medical conditions that require pain control for qualty of life.
I have been reading about the effects of Adderall. I have noticed in my son and step-son both that they have dispayed some signs of Autism. I was wondering if it was a possibility that it could be another long term adverse effect of the Adderall? They have become very nervous and fidgety, neither were before taking this medication. My step-son has the most severe sypmtoms.
He has only seen his prescribing Dr. twice even though youre suppose to go in once a month so they can monitor your side effects. He has been on all kinds of meds to help with severe anxiety, depression, anger, mood swings and then the latest was the ADD he was told he has. This medication is not working for him. He is very thin to start with but was able to go from 140 and 6ft with my help 5 years ago and now after adderall he is actually down to 135.
On the first day he took it he had what i would call quite bad side effects........ 1)mouth moving constantly 2)eyebrows up and down 3)fingers in mouth and chewing on fingers. 4)crying all day since then i have noticed a reduction in side effects but i would like to know 1)He already presented with fingers in mouth and chewing nails and skin, and also eyebrow raising, this has become worse on concerta, why would a child do this in any case and why would it become worse on CONCERTA?
Since you are taking xanax and possibly other meds that increase serotonin, dopamine and/or norepinephrine you are at a much higher risk of developing the more rare side effects of adderall like serotonin syndrome (very rare but can be fatal), a dangerous rise in blood pressure, seizures, convulsions, and coma. Adderall is a stimulant, a mixture of amphetamine salts that increases serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine.
If you know adderall is the problem tell the doctor, they will most likely tell you to not take it or reduce the dosage until they see you to adjust the dosage to what you need or to give you further instructions on how to take the medication so the side effects are reduced. Taking adderall on an empty stomach increases side effects of this type. Having caffiene like coffee is a huge mistake. This can definetly cause paranoia issues. I hope this helps anyone having these problems.
Hi I would tell your friend that adderall is just like speed. And it has very bad side effects ,one of the side effects is Seizures and she is also on wellbutrin and that has a warning all of it that it can cause Seizures also. So she shouldn't be on Adderall . Have they ever done a EEG on your friend .is see she is on topomax and that is used for seizures also. she should get an EEG done on her. It may be that she is having Seizures and not ADD because ADD can look like Seizures.
I started at 19, but about one year ago at 25 I started noticing some new side effects from the adderall. Some days it worked, some days it didn't. My tolerance continued to go up, but I refused to take more than 20mg in one day. Exercising became frustrating and scary because my heart rate would race to 200+ in about 10 minutes, and I would consider myself to be quite fit.
Is it like saying just taking longer birth control pills? What are the side effects? What are the benefits? Has FDA approved? Where i can search more about Yaz? Will it affect my future plan of having a healthy pregnancy? Also, i was told if i do want to get pregnant, i should wait 6 months after taking the birth control pills. is that true?
But he takes it because he says it makes him feel better and he can get going for a while until side effects kick in like terrible fatigue . He describes it as 100% at one point of the day down to 0% at it's low point. My son is sweet and soft and fun but on this his personality changes. Please let me know if any of you have experienced the same effect.
My opinion is that you get the meds changed it is well catalogued that adderal can, cause anger and the behaviors you describe here, some other parents have put up posts about the effects of these drugs on children, if you scroll down on the ADD and the ADHD forum you will see for your self, now I do know that there are times when meds do work, so I say to you that in my opinion you ask your Doctor about the dosage and about a change, also do some googling, for side effects of Adderal ..
I would really encourage you to complain about any possible side effects especially since usual side effects like dry mouth go away within a few months, sometimes other more serious side effects take longer to occur. For example, I've taken adderall for about 5 years. I need to take a break from it every so often because it affects my quality of sleep and it begins to wear on me.
- on the contrary he seems more hyper and easily angered(pacing a lot and saying he is bored--pushing his 2 yr old sister when she doesnt want to play with him)-- and he still jumps from one activity to the next. Also, when should I see the side effects dissipate(the weepiness, sleeplessness, quick to anger...) P.S.-- he is also on 100 mgs of Topamax for seizures(he has only had one seizure)-- I don't know if the mixing of meds might be an issue-- but Peditrician- said no.
I know someone that I care about dearly who takes 25 mg of Adderall a day for ADD. The other night she was taking pills like candy and going insane with them and just swallowing them. She took about 280 -300 mg of adderall all in less than a couple of hours was basically like on speed. She is 120 pounds, 16 years old and is about 5'4''. She couldnt eat and was having panic attacks, and puked, but refused to get help. She wouldnt let me help her and i was afraid of her.
wondering if a different anti depressant could counteract this? also i fear the longterm side effects, as ive seen someone close to me experience them and it was traumatic to say the least. psychosis, paranoia, hallucinations, violent anger, etc. i dont want this to happen to me. im smart enough to know the facts, but not strong enough to kick the pills. they keep me company though..
obviously Glinda the good witch has not been on my side at all..all the way through those blue ridge mountains I kept saying there's no place like home but it didn't work..the only thing that happened is the damn trucks and other cars kept beeping and yelling at me to go...lOL oh well, it's over, now, on to my next adventure.....SCUBA DIVING Yah right!!!! i think i need an extra dose of wizard dust.
If my ADHD son was on Tenex and now we've taken him off of it because of side effects; but we see mood swings, anger, depression, jealousy, angry words coming back once he was off of it, what would the next medication suggestion possibility be to replace it. He's on Adderall for ADHD but the above came back when he was on nothing, between Tenex and Adderall. He is five which complicates things.
If it was me I would change meds which is probably the cause of those serious side effects. I tried her once on Adderall and it made her depressed, angry and emotionally a wreck. Don't let them pop more drugs on her when it is probably due to the meds she is on. Thyroid patients metabolize drugs differently than others to begin with. I am now very sensitive to meds.
Paranoia Depression Anger Insomnia Lethargy Appetite changes Mood swings How to Manage Withdrawal Symptoms While there is no medication that is approved to mitigate Adderall withdrawal specifically, some doctors may prescribe medications to counteract some of the side effects of withdrawal. Many doctors prescribe antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications to deal with the sadness, hopelessness and worry that addicts often experience during withdrawal.
Yes so really you could look up the side effects of Adderall as I think you will find this is possibly the cause of his extreme behavior, perhaps you need to address this with the Doctor prescribing Adderall. If you look at other Parents Posts you will see they are experiencing the same Problems,it is not your Sons Fault he is acting this way .
He has been put on adderall then taken off due to it not helping him. Was put on Vyvanse and was having severe side effects from that. So he was placed on the same dosage of Adderall that he was on previously. 20 mg 2 times a day, and was also put on Zoloft. I was wondering what other medications would help with mood problems and anger issues? And what would be the fastest acting medication he could take?
I am interested in knowing which medication your son is on for anger/aggression, for how long, how effective it is, any side effects, etc. If you care to send separate email, you can use ***@****. Thanks.
If this is the case the amino acids tyrosine and phenylalanine help restore the body's natural supply of dopamine without the side effects that drugs give you. Besides, drugs NEVER restore the brain back to normal... even scientists know this. But the good news is that so many people who suffer from major mental illnesses (e.g. schizophrenia) turn out to have major vitamin and neurotransmitter deficiencies and imbalances.
I first took lexapro which zombified me and had a bunch of other side effects too. The zombie effect is horrible though, I wouldnt wish that crap on anyone. Second antidepressant was wellbutrin and it helped for one week and then had no effect even with dosage increase and made my adderall ineffective.
He has also been put on intuniv which caused a few really bad side effects and Strattera which didn't do anything at all for him. I have researched ADHD signs and symptoms and I do not believe he has this condition. I've voiced my concern to the pediatrician but he doesn't seem like he wants to listen to me. I have located another ADHD doctor and intend to get a second opinion soon.
