Go to sleep with migraine and wake up with one. Since I tried adderall, I can hardly remember those heavy duty migraines! It works great for my hypertensives. But I just moved to a different state, and doctor doesn't believe that adderall can be helping. How can I be tested for ADHD and get the prescription that works for me? Thanks for help.
I am very concerned because between the time of the first ocular migraine i had months ago and today I have started taking Adderall for my ADD. Ive read adderall gives you a risk for stroke. Is it likely that this was just a migraine and not TIA or a stroke?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I have no insurance and it would be very costly go to the ER...
Ended day one with another two just to stop the pain. Unreal pain. Hugh migraine. Sleep finally. Woke up. Had protein drink, 12.5 mg Adderall and here it is almost 11:00 PST and all I needed was my klonopin for sleep, 2 mg. am I kidding myself? I don't feel detox.............why not? These pills must have a hell of a half life. I hope to duplicate today, tomorrow. Headache, headache stay away. Head is still sore to the touch, almost like a scalp bruise. Wierd.
I just got over a 72 hour migraine and have the typical migraine hang over which consists of being tired and minor throbbing pains in my head. My neck still cracks a LOT, like rice crispies so now I'm afraid to move it which will compound the problem according to my old pain management doctor. My neck is popping today and I am keeping it as straight as possible for fear of triggering another one.

my doctors have tried a lot of meds. i am scared to ask them about adderall because i really do not want them to just try anything..because t hey have tried so much already and i feel like i am getting worse.
So I am suffering a great deal with this ongoing persistent ailment every day and i have been taking amphetamines(adderall) to curb the sensations and have taken pain killers in the past. Both have worked, but once a tolerance is built up, I am left with these excrusiatingly agitating syptoms. I Need ANSWERS. Has anyone experienced this..and if so what meds have helped or what kind of doctor have you seen?
I do see a neurologist, and my psychiatrist. My psychiatrist not only prescribes all my meds except for the migraine meds but I see her weekly for therapy too. For a month now she first suggested a stimulant to help with the daytime fatigue and overwhelming depressive behaviors I am having with starting me on Adderall 10mg twice a day before 4:00pm.
I'm in my mid 30's, and a new friend that I met several months ago is always sneaking off to pop various pills - mostly she's got Adderall, Xanax, Alprazolam, Suboxone 8mg, lexapro, roxicet, and a few others that aren't in any packaging.
What would be signs of abuse? Sometimes she seems very out of it altogether, and it can take her a long time to put her thoughts together & spit the words out, and other times she acts very normal. She drinks alcohol daily.
One seems to cause the other. Either I have a severe nosebleed which triggers a migraine, or vice versa. I am currently using a triptan to treat my migraines, and I use a humidifier plus a simple saline spray to alleviate nasal dryness, but the nosebleeds seem to happen anyway. My doctor also does not seem to think that the nosebleeds or headaches are a side effect of any of my medications (I do not take any blood thinners or aspirin, but I DO take Adderall and Synthroid.) Please help!!!
So your son has been on Concerta for 2 years? What other medications did you try? My son has been taking Adderall for 3 years. All the other medications caused him to have headaches. One in particular gave him a migraine that landed us at the ER and him getting an MRI. The adderall, at 25 mg, has not affected him at all with adverse symptoms. He sleeps well, eats well, etc.

Hello, my name is Justin and I was curious about the effects of taking adderall had on motor neuron and glutamate function. I am currently in medical school and have been taking adderall for some time now and notice that when I am taking in caffeine along with adderall I experience muscle twitching within my arms, legs, and fingers. Previously to my arrival at school, I was checked out by a neurologist who performed a NVC/EMG and said everything was fine.
I have been taking 10/325 Norco 4x per day as well as Adderall, Celexa, Lisinopril, and Topamax. Today, I went to the doctor to have my prescriptions refilled, and I was administered a urine drug screen. I didn't think anything of it until the doctor came back in and told me that my results were COMPLETELY negative for all medications, and that I was going to be discharged. I am FURIOUS!!!
He put her on a low dosage of Straterra at first but after 2 weeks the side effects required a change in medication. He put her on a low dosage of Adderall (18mgs per day). She also takes 450 mgs of Wellbutrin a day for depression and 100 mgs of Topamax for migraines. Add to that the fact that she drinks a few glasses of wine every night and you have quite a cocktail. Since being put on Adderall her behavior has really changed.
Vyvanse is metabolized differently, so could last longer in your system. It was done so you could not snort it like you can with Adderall. Adderall gives a stronger first "hit". V is smoother and takes longer to take effect so may not be as noticeable. Also the Dose of V should be 30mg compared to 10mgs of adderall XR to be somewhat equal.
I don't put a lot of stuff in my coffee though, so I'm curious why coffee would make me shaky but Adderall wouldn't. I know they work differently, but I just assumed that Adderall was stronger and would have more negative side effects.
I am mentally and physically spent. I am now on adderall to help me wake and stay awake so I can perform tasks during the day but I always am in pain!
I also take adderall for add and xanax for anxiety. The reason that you are experiencing anxiety like symptoms from the adderall is because adderall is a stimulant. It is a mix of amphetamine and dextoamphetamine salts. It is a schedule II drug. Schedule I drugs are the worst classification and it goes down to schedule V. This is not uncommon, I have this problem as well. The question is can you live with the extra anxiety if the adderall is really helping you?
My college aged daughter has been on Adderall 3 days a week since Nov 2007. I noticed over spring break a small amount of acne (she had been acne free for years). Then when she came home in May the acne started getting worse. She upped her adderall because of training/games and a new job. So she was basically taking it almost every day. Her face broke out horribly. Worse it has ever been. I took her to two dermatologists. Nothing was helping. It was steadily getting worse.
I used to use caffine to pick me up when the adderall was wearing off but I notice this always ended up in a downward spiral until I stop the caffine for about a week and felt good again. Instead of using caffine to pick me up once the adderall wears off I just take more adderall now but not enough to get that PEP feeling. If you take enough adderall to get the pepped up feeling every day your tolerance will increase quickly.
Birth control can cause this, but you started that after this began. Excedrin could be making the Adderall more potent, as Excedrin contains caffeine -- it's kind of a mild migraine remedy -- so that's also a possibility. Obviously, a doctor would be a better source of info as they can examine you and do tests.
After partying to hard (only drinking & smoking cig) one weekend this past summer, I developed a case of Shingles on the side of my chest. I'm mid 20s in age. Additionally, my Dermatologist prescribed Acyclovir 800mg x5 Daily for 1 week.
When I began taking the medication is when things got a little weird.
The first 48 hours, I felt amazing !
