The medication is very beneficial, but I am worried about long term damage and was wondering if adderall causes or can cause glutamate toxicity within the motor cells. I know muscle twitching is usually benign, but I am concerned about the effects adderall has on motor neuron activity possible MND. I know this is kind of an off the wall question, but I would really appreciate any input you or your colleagues have on this issue and if I should continue taking adderall?

I was just diagnosed with ADHD today and my doctor prescribed me Adderall. I took 20 mg about 5 hours ago and I feel absolutely NOTHING. Is it because I donated Red Blood Cells yesterday??? I am worried as to why I feel ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, I feel disappointed in this medication and it has been only 1 day. I really need this medication to work for my ADHD. Thank you for your time!

My father almost completed his ECT treatment, but stopped because he couldn't handle the nausea-- something he and my family regretted for a long time. I think you really need to weigh the pros and cons. Things must be pretty serious if you are getting this treatment, so maybe you want to stick it out? Do you know the predicted trajectory of your treatment (for example, I was only about eleven at the time, but I think my father had two weeks left...
not personal experience with adderall....but it is normal to feel fatigue with adderall wd...it is not life threatening and for the most part it is a mental wd vs narcotics being both/mental and physical...the fatigue is common among narc wds as both drugs supply extra endorphins to the brain//many feel fatigue after narcotic cessation to be a physical symptom like the runs...but it is a result of taking endorphins away and waiting on the brain to "catch up" on endorphin production....
So, I’m supposed to get better from sleeping all day and having no motivation with medication that has these side effects? It makes no sense! They should prescribe Adderall for people who are depressed...
Can it (my body/brain) not adjust? Antidepressants DO NOT WORK. They don’t. Period. I am to the point where I take the ADHD stimulants, (VYVANSE - 70 mgX1 or 2, or 3 during the day) and/or Adderall. This is obvious signs of drug addiction/dependency/abuse. I know. Again - Without ADHD medications or antidepressants I still feel as terrible as I do while taking the ADHD medications.

I'm diagnosed with ADHD and depression at 25mg amphetamine tab daily (15 morning, 10 lunch), and 15mg Sertraline every breakfast, respectively. Regarding the ADHD, my psychiatrist told me I should probably take a "pill holiday" with the Adderall every once in a while when I don't study or when I am not doing much work. I tried that once, but I think it somewhat threw off my treatment for depression.
Now my question is how does a 16 year old (or others of any age) abuse adderall? How exactly do they abuse adderall? How is it done? Im asking because I have high position that my daighter is not only "trying" to abuse her vyvanse but I think she also doing adderall and getting it off the streets (from friends she may know or known drug dealers). I can just see a big difference in her behavior.
