adderall

1616953 tn?1443835511 I've been just konking out in the middle of the day. I wake up sometimes with my head on the table other times just leaning back (Ouch btw) Its a pain in the ass. If I wasn't working for myself I'm sure I would be fired. My doctor has me taking a low dose of Adderall in the morning and if I feel like I'm going to konk out a second (10mg) anytime before 2 PM. Does anyone else here have anything like this?
Avatar f tn I am a 48 yr old woman recently diagnosed with ADD. My doc prescribed 10 mg Adderall qd. Since starting it I have gained 2 pounds. My ADD symptoms seem very slightly improved, except brain fog/chatter, and sleep habits which are greatly improved. Why would it cause weight gain and sleepiness? Does my dose need changed or should I ask to try diff medication? Could my response be somewhat diagnostic in nature?
Avatar m tn Thank you for the response! I don't have the results of my polysomnogram yet so I don't know if my doctor will feel an MSLT is necessary. Right now I think she's leaning toward a diagnosis of idiopathic hypersomnia, but is that a real diagnosis or just a label to explain unexplainable symptoms? I don't want to have to take a stimulant for the rest of my life; the thought of doing so makes me nervous.
Avatar f tn So, I’m supposed to get better from sleeping all day and having no motivation with medication that has these side effects? It makes no sense! They should prescribe Adderall for people who are depressed...
Avatar f tn I've been taking adderall for about 10 years now, and I've always had problems with my voice, specifically the volume of my voice. Especially when I take an extra tablet, the next day my voice is breathy and hoarse. Do you think this has to do with adrenal burnout? Or could it be LPR (silent reflux)? I worry the Adderall is altering stomach acid PH? which might be causing my lower esophageal sphincter to get stuck open, causing pepsin leakage into throat?
Avatar f tn I’ve recently (about 4-5 months ago) started ADHD meds after being off for about 8 years. I suffer from EDS (excessive daytime sleepiness) in addition to ADHD of the primarily inattentive type. I find vyvanse and/or Ritalin to be helpful in terms of making me alert and functional which of course has the secondary benefit of improving my executive function issues.
Avatar f tn this dr wants me to go up 10 mg a week till i reach 60...i dont know about that..he switched my adderall to ritalin for my refractory depression and i toook 2nd pill thsi morning but im afraif im gonna be allegic to it,u all know my fears..i alos haved somazation syndrome and hyperchrodriac..which this dr told me are 2 differnet things..he said to still enjoy my 2 or 3 beers,,he has been a pshychtrist for over 50 years..i read some good reviews on people using ritalin for depression...
871962 tn?1244730028 Thanks for the suggestion. If you tell us what medications, treatments, and events you would like to track relating to narcolepsy, we'd be happy to add them for you.
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Adderall to help with the daytime sleepiness. I recently experimented by not taking any medication during the day. Without the aid of a stimulant I can stay awake approximately 4 hours before the overpowering urge to nap strikes. If I can fight this urge off I do, but I can never go any longer than 7 hours before I really do need to lie down and nap. With Adderall I can go through a day without a nap, but I still feel excessively tired.
Avatar f tn I've been suffering from very severe day-time sleepiness for years and doctors have not been able to figure out why. I currently take stimulants (Adderall and Vyvanse) because that is the only thing that can keep me awake. If I do not take those meds, I sleep for about 15-20 hours per day.
Avatar n tn For 5 years have suffered excessive daytime sleepiness. Was previously very active, have a masters degree, now cannot stay awake for more than 4 hours without the aid of a prescription stimulant, cannot come up with appropriate words to use in conversation, fighting off sleep or excess fatigue all day but often takes longer than normal to fall asleep and sometimes can't stay asleep, wake up feeling exhausted.
1660929 tn?1319758789 ve been having a light-headed dizzy feeling that has me off balance and stumbling, and I am always sleepy/sleeping at any chance. This has been going on for the last 4-6weeks, feeling would last about 2-5 seconds and happen 3-5 times within an hour, but in the last week or so, it's not going away, I feel it all day, and would sleep for hours on end during the day an still be very sleepy by 7-8pm at night .
Avatar f tn I took the Nuvigil for just over year and then my doctor changed the medication to monitor if the symptoms were being caused by the Nuvigil. I have been taking Adderall for approximately 2 1/2 months. Many people blame all of this on stress and Anxiety attacks, but I am adamant that I am not stressed out more than what is typical among nearly all people. I actually feel that I am much less stressed than the normal person and have never had an Anxiety/Panic Attack.
Avatar n tn I have been suffering from severe daytime sleepiness and fogginess for about five years now. I also had a variety of other symptoms that were first diagnosed as fibromyalgia and then chronic lyme disease. The other symptoms have gotten better but the fatigue and focus problems persist.
Avatar f tn This has been going on for years, but seems to be getting worse. I also have had resless leg syndrome for 46 years. I recently discovered that if I omitted dairy from my diet, the symptoms don't appear as often or as severe. I looked up narcolepsy, and it said that they sleep about 15 minutes and awake refreshed. I usually wake myself after a few seconds and never feel refreshed. I have very little energy and have tried changing my diet, drugs, and I have low thyroid which is well managed.
Avatar f tn I have friends who are RN's and that is one tough, stressful job. I can't imagine what it would be like without RNs around. I am probably off beat here, but I would be remiss if I didn't throw this out. You were diagnosed at 19. Were you in college then? Sometimes, the college doctors since they can't do the normal surveys of teachers, go more on the need of the patient and maybe don't follow the actual guidelines.
Avatar n tn When I do wake up I want to go back to bed an hour or so later. I am treated for depression, and I do not feel depressed. When I wake up I cannot focus properly, and feel like I am in a haze. I was having horrible problems trying to stay focused at work. I am not working right now so I am really fighting to stay awake. I fall asleep instantly. I can sleep anytime, anywhere, yet I am always still tired. When I try to wake up I feel as though I can't. It seems to be getting worse and worse.
Avatar f tn is adderall being used for manic depressive/ bipolar disorder, especially when all other treatments have been ineffective even ect the persons mind is racing, foot is shaking, but body cannot get in action., like add of the mind.

1636858 tn?1307458394 As you have LBBB and this is a heart condition, that could be what is causing you to feel tired. Have you had your heart checked out for any damage? In my opinion, you definitely need to pace your self and not do too much and rush around in the day.
Avatar f tn For the past three months, I have been falling asleep in the car (as a passenger) or while reading the morning paper(basically any time I sit down). If I drive, I have to stop after 20 minutes and take a nap. I'm wondering if it is connected with any medication I am taking. It seems as if "sleepiness" is mentioned in the literature of any prescribed medication. I am on L-thyroxine (should I return to Synthroid?) The medication has been decreased after my last blood test.
648439 tn?1225058862 d love to know if the sleepiness thing improves for you as I have found one of the sxs from the riba for me is getting really sleepy about an half an hour after taking it and having to sleep for an hour or so, it almost feels like I'm passing out or going unconscious as you say. I'm curious to know if others have this response as well. It all seems to depend on how much sleep I am managing to get and it seems I need HEAPS of sleep at the moment.
1439353 tn?1309288364 has anyone had experience with feeling extreme tiredness/sleepiness where you fight to keep your eyes open? I am just so tired. Tonight is my last pill but I know it stays in your system for a while. Sigh. Any advice would be MOST appreciated! Thanks!
Avatar f tn Yes it's normal for u to sleep a lot at this stage when I was in my first trimester I slept a lot everyone taught something was wrong with me.
Avatar n tn What do I do about having sleepiness while I am in my 12th week of pregnancy first trimester?
Avatar f tn Hey. Keep your head up, there's a lot you can do to work with this. Feeling defeated and depressed comes along with a sleep disorder, I know. I'm just a couple years younger than you. The same things happened to me. I was so smart but all my grades started falling because I could never get anything done. Everyone thought I was just lazy- I thought I was just lazy. But I was tired all the time and unmotivated. See a sleep specialist.
