Common Questions and Answers about Adderall dangers

adderall

I was prescribed Adderall for ADD and Prozac for depression a few months ago. I am doing well on both. I recently started binge drinking sometimes with my husband. We have 4 or 5 beers 3 or 4 times a week. Now I feel less able to concentrate than ever. I have a lot of trouble remembering things, and feel "spacey" alot. Can Anyone please tell me exactly what the consequences of drinking alcohol and taking Adderall & Prozac. Answers will be greatly appreciated!

My questions is, is there any significant side effects or dangers between the Concerta and Adderall? My husband is very reluctant to switch is medication and we are just trying to get some help with the questions we have.
I crushed and snorted 6 - 30mg Adderall XR's in about an hour. I had no effects at all then suddenly they hit when I was walking to my bedroom and I got really light-headed and dizzy and my heart was beating really fast. I had to run to the couch cause I felt like I was gonna black-out. It went away as soon as I sat down. Its been over 12 hours since I've taken them but I still get the same effects when I stand up and my BP a few minutes ago was 75/51, im scared, what should I do?
at night when the Adderall wears off....and prior to Adderall (and still but to a lesser degree) I had terrible sleep problems...the typical "can't shut my brain off" kind of nights. I can also relate on how the school records change, and not wanting to risk that. That being said... Medications work best when they are taken as prescribed...in this I'm referring not only to your Adderall, but also to the Clonazapam...the ups and downs from the meds can be really hard on the system.
I have been abusing adderall for ten years now, & have recently been experiencing pain & numbness in my left hand for days after use. Could you tell me the cause & the dangers of this phenomenon?
Does anyone know what the dangers of hand numbness and pain in the left hand are & what the cause is after using adderal in excess over several years?
About 4 years ago me and a bunch of my friends tried adderall (a drug used to treat add) for recreational purposes, basically to be able to stay up all night and party. It was a great time and everyone loved it, back then i was kind of shy and this little pill really gave me the personality i've always wanted, all of a sudden i would get WAY more girls at bars, etc. Since then we have all continued to take it on a regular basis.
It goes without saying that misuse of any prescription drug is a problem. These days, many teens abuse stimulant medications, such Adderall, that are prescribed for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Sometimes the teens crush these pills and inhale the resulting powder, to provide a temporary 'high'. Heart rate and blood pressure can increase, taxing the cardipulmonary system. Adderall is a central nervous system stimulant when used in this fashion.
The issue is really one of using the medication in a manner that is most likely to provide the best benefit. Using stimulant medications, like Adderall, on a prn or inconsistent basis is not helpful. If execssive amounts of the medicine are not administered, there really is no danger, but he will not benefit from such irregular use of the prescription. And it certainly is not beneficial from a physical perspective, with his body unable to acclimate to a regular regimen.
I know speeding my heart up and slowing it down is absolutely not good for it... But it's not very high doses of either drug. I have done adderall with the suboxone before and I felt weird towards the end of the effects of the adderall. No major complications though. I took a heavier dose, as well.
I did plenty of snorting. Methadone, adderall, morphine, oxys, all of them I guess. It's just like taking them orally. You will need more and more, or stronger meds. You are walking on a path that will lead you into much more pain than physical, trust me. Opiates only work for a while, then it's time to find another answer. I don't know what will work for you, but snorting opiates is not it. What's the plan when the snorting doesn't work, iv? There's no end to the game you are playing.
I just stopped using Adderall.. I was taking anywhere between 120-240mg's a day (orange caps-XR). Mainly for the stay up. I loved staying up for days on end.. I would usually eat 3 (90 mg's) to start off and several more to keep it up. I did this for a while- and I usually ended up staying awake for at least 3 days.. and after about day 3 my mind was warn. The delusion is awful. And when day 4 or 5 came around I was seeing things.. Not solid figures or anything..
Hello, I have a 12 year old son that has been on 10mg Adderall lx for @ 8 weeks now. For the first six weeks or so his teachers we amazed at the difference it has made however, I just talked with his teacher and she said that the week before Thanksgiving and this last week that Logan has been blurting out more and not as focused. The thought of increasing his dosage scares me but at the same time I want him to have the success. I made a call into his doctor but would appreciate your input.
I would also like to add that I take adderall for ADD and I started off with Ritalin. I have more acid then I used to have without so, it could also be a side effect of the Ritalin as well.
I abuse pain medicine, benzos and adderall. A while back I began to inject pills. I was foolish and uneducated when I started and after learning how dangerous injecting pills can be, I stopped. I decided it wasn't worth the risk. I did stop completely until 3 days ago. I came across some adderall and I injected. I am very upset with myself for doing it. I was in a bad place and made a very bad decision. To make everything worse, I am pretty sure I blew a vein.
I have enrolled him in school, and got him an Rx for Adderall XR 15 mg for ADD. We keep the bottle hidden in my room, and watch him take his pill every day. Today while my husband was looking for a book in my brother's room, he found a baggy with 26 of his Adderall pills in it. He had been saving them in his mouth, and then stashing them in his room. Some of the outer capsules were partially disolved.
Hon, I hope you are doing OK. Been worried. If you are checking the board please let us know!
Took MRI to spine specialist and he highly recommended epidural steroid injections and aquatic therapy. What are the dangers of steriods (effects on the heart, blood pressure, weight, other)? I am a healthy 47 year old female who has always had an active lifestyle. Ex smoker for the last 7 years. I am very apprehensive of these epidural injections but need to do something and prefer not to do surgery unless it is absolutely necessary and the doctor agrees.
Just some food for thought. Seems EVERYTHING comes with its own set of dangers attached. Much love MH, RB (Christina) Popular 'Smart Drug' Prescription May Carry Addiction Risk Wednesday, March 18, 2009 A so-called "smart drug" popular with young people may carry more of an addiction risk than thought, a small government study suggests.
I have mood swings, have had them my whole life, but I think I fit the profile of someone cyclothemic. I took Adderall for a year and quickly started having rapid mood swings..elation on the drug and crippling depression when I was "coming down" from my daily dose. It was horrible. I considered suicide a few times a week at least. I've been off adderall for 5 months now and my mood has improved a thousand percent, no crippling lows and estatic highs.
) So for all of you parents out there reading this talk to your doctors about tweeking your childs meds if you think that their sideaffects are too rash from this. And about the original topic of adderall. I was on Adderall for a short period of time and i HATED it. I had censitivity to light, headaches, and my concentration was horrible. however, there may be family history or medical history that we aren't aware of as to why he was put on that. Usually they try Concerta or Strattera first or even Adderall/Adderall XR. My son is 17 y/o and is on 10 mg of Adderall XR and she is about to put him on a booster dose in the afternoon because he metabolizes so fast.
It not about who likes what, it's life's experiences that have shown us the dangers that lie in using these things. If one needs marijuana to get motivated something is very wrong. People will find every excuse as to why it is okay to to these things, and they are merely excuses as they don't have the courage to say NO! Some people need help with depression and/or anxiety and need professional help.
Estacy was made and used for counseling patients in marriage counseling. It allowed them to open up and have no inhibitions. Then it made its way to the bars and clubs people started to abuse it of course. Estacy will make you very depressed the day or two after you use it. It has been linked to suicides and is very addictive. I believe the governement stopped making it many years ago. I know it is illegal and there are some bad mixes of it out there.
