I am also taking Adderall 20mg, once when I wake up, and 10mg about 4 hours later, and another 10 mg later, if needed, but seldom take the last one. After talking with doc briefly, he decided to let me swap over to Temazepam from Trazodone. I know I shouldn't just stop trazodone, but I did, which of course is making it worse when I am trying to sleep. First, about 5 days ago, doc had me double my trazodone, took 100mg.
Not sure you're right about taking two or more of these can cause it. Two of the drugs affect serotonin, but only trazadone does this primarily. However, any of these drugs by themselves (not including melatonin, which is not a drug and is one of the safest supplements ever studied) could cause all of your side effects and the combination wouldn't be appealing to me.
My Doctor is working with me and helping me in any way he can. I have ADHA and use to take Adderall daily. I asked my doc if I could get back on it while taking Suboxone and he said yes and perscribed it to me again. My question is if I should be taking these two meds together or not? I know my doc perscribed them to me but I can't help but question if it's ok. Does anyone have any takes on this? I am taking 8mg Sub 2x daily and 30mg Adderall 2x daily right now.

She had been on Adderall for ADHD, went into a hypermanic event and was involuntarily committed for treatment. After her release she went back to her original Psychiatrist who again prescribed Adderall for her. Is Adderall ever used for bipoplar disorder. Everything I have read says no. How can I convince her Dr. to not prescribe it anymore? Please help us.

that's a really low dose of Ativan and Ativan generally takes quite awhile to take effect, possibly an hour or two. I've tried trazodone too and that doesn't do much either - it's an antidepressant with sedation as a side effect, so they figure it will work but a lot of times it doesn't. If the trazodone doesn't work don't bother with it.
I've been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy.

My psychiatrist prescribed Trazodone to help me sleep. I was on it for one week and started having chest pains, tachycardia and dizziness. I went to the ER because I was concerned. The said nothing was wrong with my heart. So I tried to find the answer elsewhere. I looked up the side effects of Trazodone. All my syptoms and more are listed. I went back to the doctor yesterday. I tried trazodone when I first started detoxing........it actually made me wired and kept me awake. I take Melatonin and Valerian at night....it really helps. I also read at night...it gets my mind off of things and relaxes me enough to fall asleep. I don't sleep a lot..usually about 4-5 hours a night...but it seems to be all I need anymore. When I was taking pills, I would sleep 10 hours a night!
I still get real bad RLS at night and the Valerian seems to help that.
He had a thorough checkup today at the hospital and the attending physician agreed it probably was the Trazodone so told my husband to stop taking it (which he already had done) but to continue with the beta blockers until he saw the specialist again. Apparently it takes about a week to get the Trazodone out of a person's system so now it's a waiting game. Yes, we were scared. We were also surprised the heart specialist didn't make the connection; however, it is rare.
My wife took 100 mg Trazadone every night before bed as a sleeping aid, an off label use. I tried it myself and it didn't work as a sleep aid. I was also looking form help with stress caused depression, it didn't seem to help me in that area either. I switched to Sertraline (Zoloft) not sure if that will help with depression or not.
I find the generic Ambien doesn't help me sleep either.
After having total knee replacement 2 months ago, I was given hydrocodone 10-325, Tramadol 50mg and then eventually Trazodone 100mg (for sleep).
