adderall and melatonin

Something that will help sleep patterns get back to normal without a prescription and all the terrible side effects that clonidine will cause is MELATONIN. My son has been taking melatonin for 3 years now and sleeps much much better. I give him 3mg 1 hour before bed and in about 20-30 mins. he goes in and goes to sleep and sleeps all night. He wakes up without that groggy feeling like sleep aids cause. They also make this in 5 mg doses for older children.

I have tried klonopin, ativan, ambien cr, tonight for instance i took 1 ambien 4 1/2 mg of ativan and 1 1/2 mg of klonopin and i am wide awake. Not quit sure the difference between adderall and benzo's. I used to be on ridilin and now am on dexedrin which are both uppers but have sleep side affects that are supposed to make you sleepy . I am at my whits end. sorry not really much of an advice more than a comment and trying to learn what other people are trying.

Question- has anyone else had problems with Lunesta and Adderall? or heard of anyone having issues with these meds? Or a reliable study showing these results or similar.

Maybe you should take a small amount of it at night for the next week or so. I took 1/2 Xanax and melatonin and slept quite well. After that, then you can slowly stop the Xanax.

Not sure you're right about taking two or more of these can cause it. Two of the drugs affect serotonin, but only trazadone does this primarily. However, any of these drugs by themselves (not including melatonin, which is not a drug and is one of the safest supplements ever studied) could cause all of your side effects and the combination wouldn't be appealing to me.

my son was on adderall and then concerta and they both have the side effect that can cause seizures. and now he has seizures and the medicine is not working. I give him Vitamin B6 and Omega 3-6-9 every day and it has helped him with his learning ,beside him having great teachers.

I would say most probably not - it would probably leave you wide awake and very numb, only to have the withdrawal effect from two medications instead of one. Adderall is a mixture of Amphetamine salts, people that are accustom to taking this medication can sometimes fall asleep just as the medication reach's it's peak. Being that this is not something that you take regularly, it's going to have more of a narcotic effect.

My son is not overweight at all (average). We have tried Adderall, Concerta, Straterra, and now Dexadrine. We have finally found a medication that allows my boy to have success in school, but the negative side effects are outweighing the postive response to the meds. Has anyone heard of the appetite returning after a time?

Concerta has really helped my son, but he has lost his appetite and it causes him to lose weight periodically. I like the idea of Melatonin and will try that for both him and myself. Thanks for the info.

My Doctor is working with me and helping me in any way he can. I have ADHA and use to take Adderall daily. I asked my doc if I could get back on it while taking Suboxone and he said yes and perscribed it to me again. My question is if I should be taking these two meds together or not? I know my doc perscribed them to me but I can't help but question if it's ok. Does anyone have any takes on this? I am taking 8mg Sub 2x daily and 30mg Adderall 2x daily right now.

I have been depressed the entire time because I knew I was in deep and dont know how to ever get off both without losing a 6 figure job and letting down my family and friends. Although I have pretty much recloused myself to the point where my friends dont bother to ask to do things because they know I wont. I have a work from home job which makes things worse really, I dont have a routine or structure and there are days I cant get out of bed until noon (even if the adderall has kicked in).

i am on adderall xr and zoloft 50mg and it is makin me very sick.i am starving every 2 hrs my moods have me very angry..i have diarea and nasea....i have just switched from celea and adderall to the zoloft...what can i take for depression with my adderall that wnt make me sick?

ve been on since January and I stopped it 3-4weeks ago and there is still some tenderness. But in addition I was put on adderall about 1-1.5 months before that. Is it possible that the culprit is really the amphetamine and not the propecia ?? Thanks for your help.

I did do some research on forums and by talking to other patients and some have said taking something like adderall or something similar to that could possibly help. Which I dont want to go into the drs office and say Hey what about some adderall? lol. Seeing as I am truly trying to do the best thing here for my situation, that might not be the answer but maybe that's a step in the right direction.

She had been on Adderall for ADHD, went into a hypermanic event and was involuntarily committed for treatment. After her release she went back to her original Psychiatrist who again prescribed Adderall for her. Is Adderall ever used for bipoplar disorder. Everything I have read says no. How can I convince her Dr. to not prescribe it anymore? Please help us.

So, talk to your pediatrician about using 3 mg of this in the evening to help her calm down and fall asleep. Also, make sure she is taking her meds early in the morning or it will affect her sleep. My son takes adderall xr. He uses the melatonin every evening to help calm him down.

I've been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. I currently take 60mg Adderall XR once a day and recently my Dr. added Celexa 20mg once a day..Anyone have any experience with that combination?I noticed yesterday for about five minutes my hearing wasnt as good..then that went back to normal..this is after adding the celexa..Adderall never did this..I also now have diarrhea where with only the Adderall I only went once a week...but Adderall makes me not hungry at all...not till after 6 pm..
