If you do not have ADHD, then this causes emotional and cognitive effects such as euphoria, change in libido, increased arousal, and improved cognitive control. Similarly, it induces physical effects such as decreased reaction time, fatigue resistance, and increased muscle strength. In short, a stimulant. Hope this helps.
If any of us dares to say that she may be overmedicated - she gets angry and defensive. She said the Adderall has killed her appetite and her libido but because she likes how it makes her feel and how much she is able to accomplish - she will live with those side effects. She has lost weight in the 2 months that she has been taking Adderall. She is 5'3" and has gone from 125 lbs to 119 lbs.
I have been experiencing menopause-like symptoms such as night sweats and hot flashes for years and decreased libido and vaginal dryness for the last year. That last one is what brought me in to my gynecologist two and a half weeks ago. He said that my symptoms sounded like those you would see in a woman with estrogen and testosterone imbalances BUT based on his physical exam, it looked like my estrogen level (at least) was just fine. (Apparently my labia look like I have plenty of estrogen.
About four years ago, I started meds for depression, anxiety, and ADD. (I should have started long before this.) I take Adderall XR for my ADD, and tried a few antidepressants before settling on Zoloft. After about six months, my doctor added Wellbutrin XL because I felt really apathetic. (She wanted to keep me on the Zoloft because it helps more with anxiety, though I'm not 100% sure this was necessary.) I have to say that I really like Wellbutrin.
Usually it is found in many later in life - but I think testing for thyroid issues have increased and that is why so many people including men are being diagnosed. It was thought in the past it was more of a "later in life" disease a few decades ago - but seeing this forum - there are more people my age and younger talking about it.
2006 - Went on Yasmin but changed a year later due to an insane amount of bleeding. 2007 - Went on Yaz instead and bleeding was much better but libido decreased tremendously and seven months later, had a HUGE anxiety attack while out of town for a conference. My GP put me on Lexapro, felt good for about 3 months, and then we stepped me off of it because I assumed it was ennvironmental stressors and not linked to Yaz. Two months later, another huge anxiety attack.
He also mentioned testing for increased prolactin levels for kids on risperdal and said that if levels were elevated that the child should be taken off the medication. I went back to his psychiatrist and asked for this test;the result was a level of 27. I cant remember the first norm, but the cut off was 17. He had only been taking it for 9 months. I have now tapered his dosage with reluctant aggreement from this Doctor down to 1 mg dly and hope to soon wean him off completely.
I was diagnosed with depression in January 1999 and started taking Effexor XR. Eventually my dose was increased to 225mg, and I continued on this dose until recently. During these years my depression was under control, however my weight steadily increased and I gained about 45lbs. While I recognize that taking any medication impacts your body, I don't believe that Effexor was to blame for my weight gain. I have bad habits and I'm not as active as I used to be.
I was curious about the effects of taking adderall had on motor neuron and glutamate function. I am currently in medical school and have been taking adderall for some time now and notice that when I am taking in caffeine along with adderall I experience muscle twitching within my arms, legs, and fingers. Previously to my arrival at school, I was checked out by a neurologist who performed a NVC/EMG and said everything was fine.
Last night, I searched again after hearing about a research study being reported in the newspapers about menopause and libido. Apparently this study found that cramping after orgasm was common in menopausal women! Hearing about this caused me to do a more aggressive Google search and here I am. I'm healthy -- I have had an ultrasound in the last two years as well as a colonoscopy, with normal results. I'm post-menopausal now and have found my symptoms have gotten worse through the years.
No libido and shrinkage of my penis, a lot of dribbling after urinating.Dosage of Adderall increased at this time. Attributed it to Adderall. 2 weeks later while away on business I had unprotected (condom broke) vaginal intercourse with a married 36 yr old white woman I had talked to for several months via email. She has been married for 15 years and had only 1 other affair about a year prior. She assures me she has never had any issues or irregular pap smears in her life.
-hypersomnia -drowsiness/sedation -severe constipation -vivid dreams -lethargy Side-effects I get from Wellbutrin -Increased libido -increased energy I am stopping mirtazapine. Withdrawal is very smooth, nothing nothing compared with Cymbalta (personal experience), Effexor (other people reports) or Paxil (other people reports).

I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.

0 I guess since I don't have the energy or libido to do much, my mind likes to play! I took wellbutrin years ago for ADD and depression. It didn't help. If it works for ADD maybe it will help you focus and remember better. My problem with the depression is that I am not sad, but have no motivation and am not interested in the fun things I used to do. It is a bummer. I take prozac and am thinking of switching to something that gets me motivated again.
Welcome ....
The ssri's like paxil, zoloft, celexa and lexapro tend to negatively affect libido and ability to perform sexually in males and females. Wellbutrin tends to be neutral in regards to sexual issues, and tends to improve sexual drive.

Can't hold my temper , fuse very quickly and very low sex drive and low libido. LEVELS NORMAL, NOT MUCH MORE TO DO W/ THYROID HORMONE TREATMENT. Some more data about my hormone which is tested pretty recently Total Testosterone 300 (300-1090) LH 1.67 (1.5-9.0) FSH 3.2 (3.0-10) Free testosterone level is also in low side. My question is , do you think those hormones are responsible for my symptoms as my thyroid numbers are fine ?.
The effects of the Wellbutrin seemed to kick in almost immediately. My libido jumped way up, and just like that I quit smoking cold turkey. I couldn't stand the smell or taste of cigarettes all of the sudden. Now without the smoking, I also found that my morning coffee was nearly forgotten. (I'm sure that withdrawal from nicotine and caffeine added to my symptoms.
I am on 225 mg since Aug 2005 and have gained at least 20 lbs and gone up 2 sizes, I am sick about this and am tapering down as we speak!!
It could possibly be slipping over the pubic bone and into the inguinal canal just under the skin. Also, do the testicles go with the penis? And lastly, are you serious or are you joking?
I'd lie on the floor and rock for between a few minutes up to 6 hours or more. I'd rock on the floor and day dream and it seems that the rocking motion would help me day dream and I'd end up in almost in a trance. It completly messed up my education... instead of studying I'd body rock and dream whenever possible.... I mean I was totaly addicted to it, it may seam strange but it got worse from childhood.
, random deep body aches, deep, black depression and shortness of breath. I can't determine what is withdrawal and what is some other weird thing. Yesterday, I started getting headaches. I have tried to cut the 20 mg. dose to 15 mg. and I go nuts. So now I'm trying to cut it by 2.5 mg. decreases. I have done this the last couple of days with very little symptom...except headache and dry eyes. Are these all normal...is there no end to the list of stuff this methadone can trigger?
