adderall and coffee

About a few years ago, I had a really bad reaction to caffeine--heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure--over drinking a 20oz of Mountain Dew. I recently started taking Adderall for ADHD (was diagnosed since I was a child but could never swallow medication until early adulthood), and I thought it was really going to mess with my heart. Funny enough, I tolerate Adderall very well with a nominal increase in BP every so often.

i have an upcoming test and was maybe going to take some adderall to help me study. i do not have ADD and am not prescribed adderall. i know it may be harmful but i have done it in the past and i seemed to be fine. i was wondering if maybe taking the adderall while on the antibiotic would be a problem? what health risks would this pose?

oh honey, get him off that stuff! my son has adhd and bipolar, and they tried to treat both, but adderall is a definite no-no. it increases aggressive behavior and raging. you will have to teach him to deal with paying attention, but you can't treat bipolar using any other technique than drugs and therapy. take him off soon, and let usknow how it goes. good luck to you!

I stopped taking my perscription to adderall xr 30mg two weeks ago since my semester at college was over. I was taking this dosage for almost three months. Since I have stopped, I have noticed fatigue in the morning along with a foggy thought process through out the day. Is this normal? And how long does this withdrawl last for?

Everything was fine until thursday night when the adderall crashed and i decided to drink a couple cups of coffee to pick me up. I had a panic attack that night, gave the pills to my mother cause i didnt want anything to do with them anymore. The next day i had another panic attack, and had to take a xanax from a friend. Today i went to my primary who prescribed xanax for me, but i feel so out of it.

what would happen if you never have taken adderall and someone gives it to you while you were drinking jager bombs someone slipped me something and i blacked out and was extermly sick for a week went to hospital and it was still in my system

She had been on Adderall for ADHD, went into a hypermanic event and was involuntarily committed for treatment. After her release she went back to her original Psychiatrist who again prescribed Adderall for her. Is Adderall ever used for bipoplar disorder. Everything I have read says no. How can I convince her Dr. to not prescribe it anymore? Please help us.

Has anyone ever tried taking adderall for fatigue while on tx. Is it bad for your liver or does it mess with your tx. I know my GI dr wouldn't prescribe it but my primary care dr might. I asked because I have needed to take care of my daughter lately who is having mental health issues and I'm on tx and exhausted. I realize that it is a highly addictive drug but I have never been addicted to anything. I have a very non addictive personality.

i started taking the generic for adderall 3 d/ ago and i have a sore throat and my tongue is a bit swollen and i developed these lesions.. one on each side of my tongue and its very irritating and a little painful. at the dentist yesterday they told me its wasn't an infection but they thought it was a side effect from unknowingly clenching my teeth, and rubbing against my tongue due to the adderall.

Thanks Dennis! My pharmacist said that I am one of the unlucky 1-10% with the nausea. Not sure how I can be exhausted during the day if the stimulant can keep me from napping (nighttime sleep is unaffected). I gave decided to drop this one and hope to try another med over the summer. I had my fill of nausea (albeit on a more disruptive level) with Tecfidera. C.

I suffer from bipolar and used to be a drug addict , I'm 27 weeks clean off drugs but was wondering if anyone bipolar gets hypomania or even manic when consuming caffene?

You are only taking a 10 mg dose. This (in my experience) is comperable to a large cup of coffee. Ritilin is an amphetamine so no one is unaffected by it - a placebo effect is unlikely. Many doctors are more wary of prescribing these drugs after the HUGE outpouring of public criticism these last 10 years (which you will encounter here). When you're diagnosed with BP it becomes even more difficult to get treated for the ADD as stimulants are known to trigger manic phases.

Though maintaining well above average grades, before my senior year of high school I was prescribed a daily dose of Adderall Extended Release (XR) and Adderall Instant Release (IR). From an early age I was identified as gifted, but I sought the prescription because concentration was getting in the way of performance as classes became more involved and I felt as though I suffered certain social problems associated with ADHD.

I know no one here is really qualified to answer this, but how would you think a low dose (10mg) of adderalls stimulating effects, compare to drinking energy drinks, and using nicotine several times a day (I chew, about 3 times per day). I am on a low dose of adderall, 5mg twice per day, it should probably be more but it has a positive effect and im comfortable with it right now.

Hey. Keep your head up, there's a lot you can do to work with this. Feeling defeated and depressed comes along with a sleep disorder, I know. I'm just a couple years younger than you. The same things happened to me. I was so smart but all my grades started falling because I could never get anything done. Everyone thought I was just lazy- I thought I was just lazy. But I was tired all the time and unmotivated. See a sleep specialist.

I am on Adderall and was on effexor. I have tried every depression and anxiety med that there is out there. I finally figured out that I do not need the depression meds since I am no longer depressed. He originally gave me the depression med for post partum which was 11 years ago. None of the meds worked. I was more tired and moody and gained too much weight. I have tried many different ADD meds as well. What kind of Adderall are you on (adderall or adderall xr)?

Thanks for the input! I'm dealing pretty well with the constipation most of the time, but when I do, I'm a little beyond prunes. I don't really drink soda or coffee (I never liked coffee and I try to avoid caffeine since I'm on adderall) so mostly I drink water, and I should probably drink more. I stopped taking the psyllium.

Then I was put on Adderall and from the start my heart went insane. Heart rate in the 160s for a two or three days just from one small dose and would have chest pain and shortness of breath. For the past 50 days I have been experimenting with adderall I saw the side effects of withdrawal and noticed that it made me lose an unattractive amount of weight as well as me not feeling like me anymore since I’m not a drug user.

My doctor prescribed me 10 mg of Adderall XR (the capsule form) and I have been taking it in the morning before breakfast. I'm not sure how long it's supposed to take for it to work, but I honestly haven't felt any different. My mind is still fuzzy and wanders constantly, I can't sit still. Does anyone know if its normal for it to not work for the first few days? Also, does anyone know if drinking caffeine is bad while on Adderall?

t have to taper off adderall. Pentermine side effects say to not drink coffee, Adderall does not. You may have felt like crap because you stopped the pentermine. You need to talk to your doc. The problem quite possible could be the interactions of what you are taking. You really sound like you were over dosing and I think that could have been the drug combo.

I have seen reputable psychologists and physicians and am certain that I have depression and symptoms of ADD based on my own self-awareness, professional advice, and research that I have reviewed. (I'm a lawyer w/a science background - endless speculating without research is not my thing :)) To ascertain the cause of my ADD symptoms, I will maintain all current treatment/behaviors, etc. ...
