Hi,
I had unprotected oral sex but protected vaginal sex (male condom) with a woman. 2-3 days after I had a lesion/pimple of the shaft of penis under head (right side).It didn't hurt (pain/itch noticeably) so didn't go to hospital for another 3-4 days. It was a single lesion and on the 4th or 5th day of lesion started, when it had not broken yet, i got HSV swab culture (negative) and another doctor told it was Herpes (gave Acyclovir 400mg-3times-7 days).
I developed a scar on the cornea of my right eye which was getting worse and growing in size. So I was put on a course of Acyclovir which I have been taking for the last 2 months. Since then the infection seems to have cleared up but the scar has not progressed further which the doctors told me is not reversible. Last week, I happened to take an accidental blow to my right eye (the same that has the scar) which resulted in inflammation and traumatic cataract formation.
Went home and used hand sanitizer on my junk I left emidetly showered went to DEFCON 5 mode with sanitizer. Im verry scard im so stupid I will defantily get tested. She told me after... drunk and srupid. I took a flashlight and looked for cuts pimples or breaks in the skin. I didnt see any. Im freeking out. From looking at the internet I will be infected 100% for shure. Is there a chance I wont be ?
No, having an outbreak on antivirals isn't all that unusual. It does stop them entirely for some people, and in others, it just reduces them. It's still possible to get outbreaks while on them.
I wouldn't worry about resistance, or the medication not working any longer. Maybe you have a trigger that you don't know about? Is it cold where you are, or maybe you're eating something that's triggering it? Have you been sick - the flu or a cold? Really stressed or fatigued?

However, if you've had a pneumatic retinopexy recently w/ SF6 or C3F8 you are not able to go to high altitudes or travel via plane as this will cause an increase in IOP.
I still have this burning worse at night and am concerned it could be dangerous sometimes hard to sleep. I am on 500mg of acyclovir. The burning started on June 13 and has not subsided and seems to be getting worse hands arms, chest and underarms but no where else at this time. Any ideas where to start on diagnosis and treatment? Is this related to hsv2 or another problem?
Taking acyclovir on a few occasions would not affect a negative test result would it? I took a course of them when I had an outbreak about 2 weeks prior to taking my 6 month test.

My daughter has been HSV2 positive for appx three years but has not had any outbreaks since the first year. She is in her last five weeks of pregnancy and her doctor has prescribed acyclovir 400mg once a day. My understanding has been that acyclovir is a twice a day medication. Is the medication going to benefit her at this dosage or does it need to be changed? Thank you!
Yes he's sure. Oral sex of any type is not a risk of contracting HIV.
t had any symptoms as of yet. I only had a bit of a scratch in my throat on the 24th and the 25th day after the encounter, but that could have been due to too much cold pop and ice cream.
Please give me your opinion as to how risky this encounter was. Should I be worried? He kept on telling me he was 'clean' and didn't have any diseases.

L-lysine is VERY effective, I've been using it for years. You need more l-lysine with Vit C, like 3000-4000 mg every 3 or 4 hours on a full stomach. (If you're having an outbreak or about to have one) if you're just trying to suppress it take about 1000 mg per day. & then after a month or two, you can give your body a break for a few days or a week. Also you can't take it with milk or it's ineffective.
i started taking acyclovir a few days ago for the first time for a mild cold sore breakout. 2 days after i started, the cold sores got more intense, and 2 new huge cold sores came up out of nowhere. i have 3 more days left of the medication, and i'm going to keep taking it, but what should i do? these cold sores are not going away, and it seems like its getting worse! so done with these friggin things...
I am taking L-Lysene as a suppressor and only take the Acyclovir at the first sign of an outbreak. I was taking 1000mg Valtrex at onset and then 500mg twice a day and everything was clear in 3 days. To get the same effectiveness from Acyclovir how much should I be taking daily during out breaks? I have tried 600mg Acyc 3 times a day but it takes 7 days to clear up. Please advise.
