Avatar m tn Hi ! Although you don't have the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, you may want to consider seeing a physician who knows how to diagnose and treat CFS. I'm sure a knowledgeable physician who frequently sees CFS patients may be able to give you advice and/or treatment options. To find such a physician in your area, I would recommend googling, "Co-Cure's Good Physician List". Also, in Ft. Worth, Texas... there is a fibromyalgia and fatigue center. http://www.****.
Avatar n tn Is it possible that acyclovir might be the cause (side effect)? Can chronic fatigue cause neuropathy and/or neuralgia?
Avatar f tn Thank you for the response! I usually have acyclovir, but I went away for a week and of course I forgot it and that’s when I get this cold sore. It seems to be pretty mild and already gone down a lot. I’ll be home in a few days so I can take some acyclovir if it’s still there!
1816280 tn?1316893136 Has anyone found anything that helps them with the horrible fatigue? I am acyclovir and yesterday my doc. put me on trazodone to take in the morning. It has made me feel more tired than I normally do which I though was impossible. He has mentioned Ritalin has anyone been on this and had any luck? I am really sick of being sick and really tired of being tired. I also have chronic fatigue syndrome.
Avatar n tn The only treatment that has worked has been valtrex, if I feel one coming on and I take an acyclovir tablet it will retreat. I have been tested for celiac, and I was negative. Is it possible that it is some other virus that only responds to acyclovir? I still get heaps on the outside of my mouth, but they are only small. The trigger to this whole problem started the day after I kissed someone with a cold sore. Before that I had no mouth issues whatsoever.
Avatar f tn t have really any symptoms other than blood abnormalities and a few aches and pains and fatigue. But I do know my immune system is not up where it should be because of the lupus. I am wondering what I can do to boost my immune system, because I can't imagine going through these outbreaks continuously all the time. Anyone with any thoughts or ideas, I would greatly appreciate any input. So tired of suffering.... Thanks...
Avatar f tn I was experiencing a chronic type fatigue as well and my ANA(antinuclear antibodies) were extremely high. This in my case led my doctor to believe I have a rare autoimmune problem. I know how frustrating and scary it is to have health issues and know one can tell you what the exact cause is. Good luck and God bless.
Avatar f tn I can only tell you that patients with your signs/symptoms and breast implants that we tested all had chronic infections, such as Mycoplasma, Chlamydia pn. and other chronic bacterial and viral infections. Removal of the implants helped but did not solve the problem. You should consider having your blood tested (see our website, immed.org for more information on the types of tests that can be initiated).
Avatar f tn I ask because people I spoke with who had thyroid ca, did not have the fatigue symptoms I have, and they are much younger than I am.
Avatar n tn You probably have a thryroid problem and need a thyroid test. You sound hypothyroid. Go to the doctor. take care and write back and let us know how you got on. Good luck!
Avatar f tn d get burning lips and rash around lips which was treated with acyclovir (anti viral) and small pack prednisone. - after delivery of first baby and going back to work I developed burning lips with rash around lips and herpes outbreaks like crazy which doctors gave acyclovir only and no prednisone. It resolved the rash but I continued to have other symtpoms like left arm weakness, tiredness, low immunity catching colds easily and not being able to fight off herpes.
Avatar m tn It soulds like you could still have lyme disease. It can cause all your symptoms and chronic fatigue. Lyme can be misdiagnosed as chronic fatigue syndrome.
1683690 tn?1308353392 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia which is in many ways similar to chronic fatigue syndrome. Chronic fatigue is the unending fatigue. Fibromyalgia is more body pain and fatigue, but the fatigue isn't as severe as CFS. If you get sent to a rhuematologist you'll likely get checked for both (and probably lupus as well). Some days it is tough to make a meal. I can work part-time but it takes all my energy for a little three hour shift. I come home and fall into bed.
Avatar f tn I have genital herpes - confirmed by culture and blood test. After initial outbreak, I was prescribed Valtrex to use for a recurrence. Very bad headaches resulted. Was discontinued. With next occurrence, I asked for another anti-viral and was prescribed Acyclovir. This one caused headaches, backache, confusion and fatigue. Was stopped. I am now having a recurrence and didn't take anything. After about 7 days, I felt it was almost over, then wham....
Avatar m tn After his first follow-up BCG treatment course, he experienced more fatigue and flu-like symptoms than normal, and an low-grade fever. In the course of a few days he broke out in a large rash that was misdiagnosed as a fungal infection. After things got worse he was admitted to the ER the rash was easily recognized as a shingles outbreak on the S2-S3 dermatome area. He was then given a course of Acyclovir to take. Now he is having severe bladder spasms/pain, especially at night.
Avatar m tn For 8 weeks I have been feeling a sense of general discomfort and fatigue. Losing appetite and a feeling of a tight throat (does swollen lymph node cause you to feel that?). Also, just yesterday I had a very bad sore throat with yellow phlegm this morning. It seems to be getting better though so I'm not too worried about it. Are all these caused by herpes? Thank you very much.
Avatar m tn My daughter was diagnosed with Behcet's in 2008. Then in 2009 she contracted herpes (hsv2). She is now having an outbreak of herpes (starting to get under control after 2 rounds of valtrex, back on acyclovir for 2 days) and a flare of Behcet's. Prednisone will make the painful vaginal Behcet's lesions go away but will cause another outbreak of herpes. Does anyone have any suggestions? She's about to leave for a required college trip. Thanks.
Avatar f tn My doctor was referring to a study wehre Acyclovir slowed disease progression in HIV by reducing viral load. And so he thought Acyclovir might have a direct effect (even if it is low) on HIV. Maybe he thought that by decreasing viral load antybodies would show up later than in the absence of Acyclovir?
