My lymph nodes in the groin were now tender. The doctor said he thought it was a bacterial infection and gave me Cephalexin and Acyclovir, just in case. A few days ago noticed scratch on bottom side shaft but went away in about 72 hours. During most of this time I have been at the hospital staying bedside with a family member whose ill, sometimes 24+ straight hours so I've been exposed to more bacterias and such than usual.
I've seen 3 different doctors about this issue. The first time I was told I had herpes and given acyclovir. My swab & blood test came back negative and the acyclovir did nothing for my symptoms. They simply went away on their own after about a week. A few days later I developed the exact same issue and was once again told I had herpes & given acyclovir.
Next I experienced a pins and needles feeling in my groin this lasted for about 2 weeks and never came back. This was accompanied with a rash on my penis head and the shaft redness would come and go. I have had tiny bumps on my penis shaft but that was in the very beginning and they usually cleared up in a couple days. I then started to have tingling in my testicals many every once in a while it would run up my penis to the shaft.
I went to the doctor and she briefly looked at it and said that it was herpes. There were no tests done, no blood taken. She prescribed acyclovir, cephalexin and ibuprofen along with an antibiotic ointment. Since the first day it hasn't hurt at all, in fact it looks like its healing quite well and normative of other skin conditions. Today I've noticed an extreme fatigue. Additionally my father has had shingles when he was younger.
They gave me a prescription for Cephalexin, Acyclovir, and Metronidazole.I dont have a OB-GYN at the moment but I looked at my medical records and I cant find anything that says I have herpes. This is what it says, "Trichmonas Antigen Results: Negative for Trichmonas antigen. Gram Stain: No intracellular Gram negative diplococci seen. Many Gram variable coccobacilli consistent with Gardnerella seen. No yeast seen. Few neutrophils seen.
After 36 hours it was purplish and his face swollen and lymph sore and swollen. After visiting the doctor and receiving oral antibiotics and a topical antibiotic and corticosteroid, the lesion was quickly not painful, reduced swelling and seems to be pink and healing. The doctor diagnosed as a herpes simplex 1. When I asked what else it could be she said herpes. I was not happy with the diagnosis and so am asking your opinion.
5 days later I begin to have the tingling sensation in my penis and then 2 days later I still had some of it and my doctor gave me Cephalexin 500 MG 3x a day and Acyclovir 800 MG 3x a day. I noticed the testicles to be hanging for past few says and a bit red. Today is a bit less in them hanging. I've also taken some leaf extract pills and some other herbal pills. On penis or anywhere on it, I have not seen any sores so far or any blisters.
yes he was put on acyclovir and cephalexin,i have not had a outbreak of any type of sores, but it has only been roughly 3 weeks since his first came about,i am having him and i both tested for herpes.how are the ways of coming into contact with it,does it mean you actually have to have some sort of sexual encounter with someone?
My doctor said it was just straia that everyone had in the area between their genitals and thighs, and didn't think it was herpes. He did not swab the cracks in the skin. He did put me on Acyclovir for 10 days as a precaution. For the last 3 months I've had tingling, itching, prickly feelings in that area, and on my scrotum, and penis as well. I've seen 5 doctors, all who have said it doesn't look like herpes.
i recently found out that im 2 weeks pregnant and iwas on antibiotics(doxyclyn and metrronidazole) for bacterial infection before i took the test ,i want to know if this has affected the baby or me.
said it's not Bartholin's cyst or Herpes and sent me to a gynecologist the same day. The gyno Dr. diagnosed it as Herpes as well and prescribed 1-Gen-Acyclovir 200 mg 5x/day for 5 days and 1-Novo-Cloxin 250 mg 4x/day for 7.5 days. I have finished the Gen-Acyclovir for Herpes Zoster and have finished over half the Novo-Cloxin. The hard, red bumps under my skin are still there. The swelling in the left labia is still incredibly large throughout and painful at times.

4 or 5 different doctors have put me on nystantin, fluconozal? bactraban, cephalexin (keflex?), and acyclovir for 10 days, and generic valtrex for 10 days. I recently had another IGG HSV2 test at 15 weeks, and it came back negative. SInce I have tested negative for bacteria and fungal infections, I'm just wondering if the herpes select tests that seem most commonly used by doctors are fairly accurate at 15 weeks. The companies admistering the tests say they are conclusive.
You can also call your pcp and explain that the valtrex isn't cheap on your insurance and ask them to phone in acyclovir for you too and start that now. Hopefully you get to the bottom of what's going on soon!!
Eat foods high in calcium, magnesium and flaxseed oil. If a week of compresses and emollients don't do the trick, you can add over-the-counter 1 percent hydrocortisone ointment to your regimen. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Warm regards.
My labia gets sore from the scratching and I break skin often from scratching. I have tried everthing, but it doesn't go away. I know it's not an STD because I went to the doctor's and have been tested. However they haven't helped me none. The labia skin is thickened from the scratching, is very dry (white-like) and flaky (at times). So are my inner thighs at the crease yet they do not itch that often. There are no bumps but my skin is raised, and I don't know what it is.
Yeah. Well that's what I hope-related to some kind of yeast thing, and not HPV-which would mean I have to wait until it runs it's course with me. My doctor actually told me to stick with the gold bond if it works, but that's treating the symptoms...sigh. I just had a run of anti biotics after a surgery, wouldn't that take care of any kind of BI/yeast/uti??
Unfortunately, that did not last. I started having the same signs again, and when I tested it was positive again. And ever since I can't get it to be negative again, meaning the candida if that is what I have has become resistant to the supplements that I was using. As I started a new treatment, I will take the test this week-end to see if there is any progress.
