I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

Can the drug Actone (risedronate) be causing my vision problem? A week ago I was driving and I began to see the lane lines double and later they seem to be crossing each other. I have gone to an eye doctor a month before and my eyes were o.k. After this episode I once again had them checked and the doctor says my eyes are healthy. the eye doctor suggested I see a neurologist. I checked at the ER. Had MRI and scan done still no answer.

I am just tired of taking medicenes that seem to cause other problems. I think I have the GERD from taking Actonel even though I followed the instructions to the letter for taking the Actonel. No longer take it. Just take calcium.

so after she stopped taking them; the problems disappeared. but now the question is what other drugs can she take without affecting her jaw & teeth? in fact I've done some search; and found that most of the famous drugs for Osteoporosis like Actonel, Didronel, Fosamax, Boniva, Reclast & so on has bone loss in the jaw as of one their major side affects. so what she can take for her Osteoporosis without being afraid of bone loss in her jaw?

After eight months taking Levothyroxine 50ug and Fosamax - without any real problems - I have now discovered that although my TSH level has reduced (2.45) my Gamma levels (liver) have gone through the ceiling (Gamma G.T. before the medication was 19UI/l - normal range is from 0 - 36. now it's 183 UI/l. Has anybody else had any problems with liver blood work after taking this medication?

I have oesteosporosis and I binge eat. Binge eating has never been a problem in the past because I have always been very thin and never gained weight, until now. For years my weight has been between 102 & 106. I'm 5'3". Over the past few years I have gained 15 lbs. and it keeps adding on. I can't believe that at my age , this is a huge problem for me.

Check out "reclast".....it's a once a year infusion. I have taken actonel weekly for years without a problem. What else has the doc told you to do?

Can't find any info on this as a side effect. I also took my monthly Actonel pill 2 days after root canal. Is there any problem with taking both? Have 3 more days of amoxicillin. Any suggestions?

I am already showing signs that i will end up with osteoporosis in my hips and who knows where else. I have been put on on actonel to try to basically fool my bones into trying to regrow some of the bone density I lost from Depo. After coming off depo I tried the mirena (a newer plastic IUD), which expelled itself, painfully i might add, causing infection.

No sides from Actonel...I've been on it for two years. A little dental problem but okay. I have osterpro in my spine nowhere else.

Hi all, I've got a major problem with my right ear. I was diagnosed with an ear infection a few weeks ago. I was also having severe headaches. Almost the worst I've ever had. The pain spreads to the top front of my head, real stabbing pain. I've had 2 lots of antibiotics, the doc said the infection is gone but the pains are still there. Gave me Sudofed for the catarrh build up. That was a week ago.

I have -3T scores for osteoporosis and I'm looking for a safe medication to take. I have had a terrible reaction to Actonel and don't want to take Fosomax or similar drugs, but am considering Evista or Calcitonin. Any suggestions?

Also, her nose linings could be very dry, and I would suggest putting a dab of neosporin ointment up each one, this will keep them lubricated, also, have you tried a humidifier in her room? Wow, the actonel really has a lot of side-effects, this could be part of the problem as I noted it mentioned the sinuses and related problems. I wish I knew more, hopefully a doctor in the "expert" forum will be able to give you more insight on all this.

I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain. My doctor wants me to try actonel for 3 months. My thyroid test were as followed--Tsh .606-Free t4-1.30/total t3 146. I am on estrogen 1mg per day and take synthryoid .112 mg. MY muscles ache/my epigastric area hurts/and I find I am having some type of extra heart beats and occ. tachycardia. My blood pressure is up and I take cozaar. Are these problems related to this condition? I feel like a hypochondriac, but, I just want to be me again. With the muscle aches I also get so tired.

If you are taking pain reliever and have taken antibiotics and you are having a reoccuring fever of 99.9 F or more, then this could indeed be a problem. The only way to know if it is viral or you need an antibiotic is for the doctor to run some blood tests to see if your body is fighting off any illnesses. But also if you are on osteoporosis medications currently, the medication you are taking could be causing your symptoms.

Can any body suggest me some natural therapy for curing GERD? I have a reflux problem. If i am on medication I am fine but once I stop them it reoccurs back.

I have never had cold sores and am very healthy. Three years ago, I had a similar problem (not as bad) and I eliminated whitening toothpastes (I use baking soda or natural toothpastes) and it has been gone since, but got bad three months ago. Now I have eliminated almost every possibility and nothing works. I don't lick my lips. My top lip feels slightly inflamed but has no sores on it. My mom is 89 and having problems with her muscles to the left of her spine and she has stenosis , osteoporosis and arthritis. The back specialists think she should have a shot. Mentioned epideral but mom does not want anything injected in her spine. Does anyone have news on having shots in the muscles that could help her. What side effects has anyone noticed if she were to have the shot in the spinal area?
