Actonel once a month side effects

Common Questions and Answers about Actonel once a month side effects

actonel

Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
Avatar f tn I had a Reclast infusion and within a month my blood pressure had gone from 120/60 to 216/112. I thought I was having a stroke. I am now taking a beta blocker to keep my bp in control. I would NEVER do Reclast again. I also tried Boniva for two months and got terrible vertigo. Since my T score is going down, I am going to try Evista.
720656 tn?1311040235 You might want to ask your pharmacist for more specific directions as far as the timing of your meds. I take Actonel once a month and my pharmacist said it was fine to take it at the same time as my levothyroxine since Actonel is also supposed to be taking first thing in the morning. Don't mix meds unless you get an all clear from a pharmacist.
Avatar m tn Hi guys. I started taking Lexapro for my depression/generalized anxiety disorder about two years ago. For the first year, I took the drug every day as prescribed by the doctor. I didn't get any side effects which I thought was great. The drug wasn't of much help, though. A year ago, I decided to stop taking Lexapro on my own. I tried quitting it cold turkey but I wasn't able to follow through with it because of the withdrawal effects.
730826 tn?1317943334 Im not vomiting any more but still am nausious. Its been a month since then. Can the side effects last this long or is there another reason for the nausea?
Avatar m tn Most of my side effects are gone, but I still have a few. I feel great, even with the few side effects I have left. What I noticed was they lessened in intensity as the days went by. Then at some point I would realize a certain side effect was gone. Then another and another. They just keep disappearing, but not all at once, and it is gradual. At least that is what I found. I also found that it is a little uneven, just like they are while on treatment.
Avatar f tn After about 3 months, was having bad low back pain and pain on the top of both thighs. I then had a left rib fracture of unknown cause. At that time, no side effects like this were published. I did find a small group with similar symptoms but my Doc said it was not the Nexium. I stopped it and within 4 days, the flank and thigh pain were gone. I was later put on Omeprazole, 40 mg 2x a day fir the past few months. Not sure yet, but my low back muscles are killing me.
Avatar f tn i have been taking armour throid for about 1 month......a couple of weeks ago i had an awful episode while driving like i was going to pass out....it happened twice within a few hours...ended up at emerg. room...they could find nothing wrong...since then it has happened again while at home and then while driving to a new dr. appt.....now i find i am extremely dizzy/disoriented.....i find that i guess i need to diagnose myself...could this be caused by this medication?
Avatar n tn Ibandronate (Boniva injection) is injected into your vein once every three months, and zoledronic acid (Reclast) is injected once a year. If approved by your physician these treatments do not cause stomach distress and you do not have to remember to take a tablet. If these are the injections or "shots for osteoporosis" that your mom's physician is discussing there are fairly well know and widely used.
Avatar f tn I had 4 sonograms by 20 weeks and I am now 38 weeks and 5 days and have had 6 sonograms a week for the past 10 weeks all doctor ordered and my baby is perfectly healthy. I had the same amount of sonograms with my now 6 year old son and he is smart and healthy!
1375380 tn?1278892326 He had started taking it, then we reduced him from 10mg to 5mg (3x per day) for a while-which he had no side effects on the lower dose. Once he went back up to 10 mg, it probably took about a month before he stopped complaining of the crawly tingly scalp and skin.
2044839 tn?1331255841 I was recently tried on Zoloft and I thought the side effects I was having were withdrawls from my Effexor and new side effects from the Zoloft ... but it turned out I am allergic to the Zoloft and was having a reaction to it!
Avatar f tn I do take Actonel once per month. It does not upset my stomach but I do hate that morning each month. I get up, take the pill with 8 oz of water and have to stay sitting up for 30 minutes. This is not easy for me without caffeine :) While I have had stomach problems off and on, because of the omniprazole, I seem to do ok. I understand the concern about the impact on your kidneys. For awhile I was on methotrexate and had to go in every month to have my liver checked.
Avatar n tn In the third month she complained of back pain, but that went away after a month or so. Her performance plummeted after about 3 months. Once we figured out that it was the accutane I asked around and found at least 2 other swimmers who had the same affect. There also was an article that talked about some cross country runners.
1508160 tn?1289920302 t know much about Rebif but I have been on Copaxone for over a year. The side effects are redness, itching, stinging, swelling at the injection site. There isn't any problems with the liver that I know of. There are some reactions for some that include tightness of the chest, flushing. I chose Copaxone over the other DMD's due to the lack of side effects such as flu symptoms, liver function.. Good Luck in your decision!
Avatar m tn Seizures had been every couple of years and by this summer were occurring about once every other month. A few weeks ago, he had four seizures in 2 days, which necessitated leaving him at the vet clinic for a couple of days for observation. Our vet had been reluctant to put dog on pb as he has had elevated liver enzymes for a couple years now and is taking denamarin. He did prescribe pb though and will monitor liver enzymes. Moe was initially put on 15mg twice a day.
Avatar n tn My doctor is putting me on Actonel but I am reluctant to start. Side effects are very worrisome... not sure what to do. I have started mega doses of supplements and calcium and D and excercise and I want someone to tell me that that has worked for them. Most comments I get is to take the drug because it's more effective. I can't believe everyone is taking bisphosphonates or other drugs like that. Please let me hear from you if you see this!,,, Thanks, and hope you are doing well!
Avatar f tn I just posted the other day that my doctor prescribed me methadone 5mg twice a day. I also have Norco 5-325 for breakthrough pain. I am allowed to take two Norcos. My question is, do you guys think this is a massive jump from taking hydrocodone-containing products on a daily basis? I just tried the medication and I have a fever of 101.4, feeling completely lethargic and falling asleep performing tasks.
Avatar f tn About two months ago, it got so bad, I had to buy a suppository laxative... It helps a lot, but it still is a pain. I also get diarrhea a couple of days later, but it's not as painful or as bad as the constipation. Outside of these times, I usually can go every day or every two days. I eat foods with lots of fiber, changing my diet, and I can never predict when this will happen.
Avatar n tn Withdrawal from such anti-depressants can be very hard, but eventually the side effects will pass.It may take a few weeks or a few months, depending on how long you have taken this medication. The drug has to get out of your system and your body has to adjust to function normally without it. If you symptoms are unbearable, maybe a different approach needs to be used with tapering off Effexor XR.
Avatar n tn I developed an allergy to certain things and one of them was a dental adhesive for a side molar and this adhesive caused me some discomfort and did my tongue exactly the way you describe your husbands.
147929 tn?1294851722 what do you think?? Progesterone side effects or could this be it? I was on progesterone w/DD but we got pg the first month trying (after 4 mc) so I don't have a reference point of progesterone w/o pregnancy.
551885 tn?1300383822 My baby has her 2 month appt tomorrow also and she has to have 3 shots :( I will give her tylenol before the appointment because I know she may be sore from some of the shots. Fortunately she is a chubby baby so I hope she won't be too uncomfortable. How is Colter sleeping?
Avatar f tn I was hyperthyroid for a week, more hypothyroid than I was for a month (natural production slowed down in response to medication and it took a month for the medication to build up in the blood) and my serious adrenal insufficiency worsened on thyroid medication.
