Actonel once a month dose

Common Questions and Answers about Actonel once a month dose

actonel

Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
Avatar n tn I would suggest that you proceed with the calcium supplementation and talk to your doctor about retesting the levels of calcium after about a month to see if this would come up. After that, then you may already have no contraindications is using Actonel. All of these drugs and supplements may aid in preventing side effects of aromasin such as that of further lowering of bone mineral density and bone pains.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, I suffered some of the side effects, fever, and severe bone pain to the point of not being able to take in a full breath. My doctor was so concerned he put me on a steroid dose pack to reduce the reaction. My body doesn't seem very tolerant of any drugs, couldn't take anything other than extra strength Tylenol for a foot surgery. I will have to figure out something else with an endocronologist?
720656 tn?1311040235 You might want to ask your pharmacist for more specific directions as far as the timing of your meds. I take Actonel once a month and my pharmacist said it was fine to take it at the same time as my levothyroxine since Actonel is also supposed to be taking first thing in the morning. Don't mix meds unless you get an all clear from a pharmacist.
Avatar n tn The pulmonologist test that was done with the mevacor to induce asthma - the pulmonologist said they had to give me a pretty strong dose to induce any kind of affect so he thought if I had asthma it was a slight case. None of the medications really work except the prednisone, albuterol and singular. I have stopped taking everything else. I am also going to stop taking Nexium because I have been taking it since last May and I don't think it is good to keep taking it.
Avatar f tn About two months ago, it got so bad, I had to buy a suppository laxative... It helps a lot, but it still is a pain. I also get diarrhea a couple of days later, but it's not as painful or as bad as the constipation. Outside of these times, I usually can go every day or every two days. I eat foods with lots of fiber, changing my diet, and I can never predict when this will happen.
Avatar m tn I wondered because they only ever had me take the antipsychotics I've taken once a day and I always heard everyone else talk about taking them twice a day. I'm only awake 12 hours or less a day and the current one I'm on has a half life of 3 days so I guess it's kind of pointless for me to take it twice a day.
Avatar f tn m high risk so I get them once a month
Avatar f tn I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?

Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. 363243 tn?1331033850 No... HC has a short life so normally one divides the dose into two with the bulk in the morning and then a small amount in the afternoon - for example 15/5. Usually the afternoon dose is not taken after 3 or 4pm. This can vary with people though - some people need 2.5mg at bedtime to sleep! Other people cannot sleep if they have any near bedtime...
Avatar n tn My eyelid swells up for a whole day every month. It happens only once a month and graduallt it comes back to normal size. What is the cause for this illness ?
Avatar f tn Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for a once-daily fixed-dose combination of the NS5A inhibitor ledipasvir (LDV) 90 mg and the nucleotide analog polymerase inhibitor sofosbuvir (SOF) 400 mg for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C genotype 1 infection in adults.
306867 tn?1299249709 As I have mentioned before, I do use Suboxone to treat chronic pain-- I have had more and more area pain clinics refer patients to me, asking that I help convert the patients who are struggling with opiates to Suboxone (i.e. the patients who run out early every month; who are always 'losing' their meds and asking for more, etc).
Avatar n tn Right hip replacement. I'm on requip, lyrica, cymbalta, celebrex, just starting actonel plus vitamins & calcium. thank you. I'm 76, female. I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar f tn Does Solu-Medrol cause bone aching to be worse and what do you find can ease this awful symptom? All of my MRI's have shown only tiny lesions that are in my subcortical white matter and my doctor has attributed those to my migraines that I suffered in my mid-twenties. I am now 38 years old. But my doc does beleive that I am presenting with "clinical MS".
683167 tn?1302879300 Has anyone tried LDN for their neuro symptoms? Two of the alternative MDs I went to prescribed it for me. I have taken it off and on for two years (mostly off). I have found it to make me feel worse for awhile but then when I stop it I feel a big improvement. So I don't take it until I have a really bad flare. It is supposed to be an immune system modulator.
Avatar f tn I'm just curious. My boyfriend detoxed off percocets a few weeks ago and it was pretty bad. He missed two days of work, and truthfully, I don't know how he managed working the other days (he's a mailman.) Can't imagine delivering mail with all the symptoms withdrawal brings. He is on them for a medical condition. but he overuses them and runs out.
Avatar m tn If a slow release is available (affordable, usually cost more for the meds I have taken) trying 50 mg once a day, or normal release 25 mg twice a day seems like a reasonable discussion to have with your EP. I was taking Propafenone (generic Rnythmol) 225 mg every 8 hours (yes, three times a day) to keep me in normal sinus rhythm following a successful electrocardioversion.
Avatar f tn My whole weekend is going of like this since a month. It is making me weak. Doctor gave me an antibiotic but again next week it recurs. Body aches mostly knees and ankles [ i suffer through osteoporosis and joint pains too but the pains were not troublesome earlier] Can anyone tell is it viral or anything else.
Avatar f tn I have IBS> I started to take fosamax once a week (for osteo). did so for 4 weeks. it seemed to bother my esophagus (bumping, reflux) so my doctor suggested actonel. i took one pill a week ago and since have had increasing sensation of a lump in my throat, and like I'm full of phlegm that I can't ever swallow down. I can eat so of course I am swallowing. I'm off all drug right now but throat/phlegm sensations feel settled in, especailly bad at night, and are anxiety provoking.

10175413 tn?1427170251 Your good Hun ... I took a double dose by accident and then had to skip a day and a half. Still cleared no prob. The meds accumulate in your system especially since your so far into it, I'm sure it won't matter. BTW I still felt the effects of my Riba for almost 6 month after stopping Tx. All of the meds are so super strong and even tho you've missed a dosage your body is still saturated with them.
Avatar m tn s 10/325 a day, everyday for over a month (50+ a day for a while before that). 15-18 of them at once as soon as I woke up in the morning. I thought it was coming to a matter of life or death so I jumped on the Sub train, and glad I did. It is still not been easy, but knowing how c/t feels, it is a lot easier then that (for me). And I also know that when I come off the Sub, that is going to be another battle all its own. I am trying the 21 day Sub plan that I read about online here.
Avatar f tn Lets say the binge went on for a year and happened on a frequency of around once a month. Every binge consisted over 10 units in 1 night. If this was cut down to the recommended 2-3 units on social occasions about once every few months only. Is this likely to have any effect?
Avatar f tn s definitely strange, i normally go 30-40 days between periods with no spotting ever. So to spot twice in a month is strange, and i had some back pain and a bit of cramping with this second string of spotting. Wish i never went on birth control Thanks for the thought!
Avatar f tn My periods are coming once a month and there are making me poorly when they come a month later
