Actonel and teeth problems

Common Questions and Answers about Actonel and teeth problems

actonel

Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
Avatar f tn I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. Avatar m tn The last thing the periodontist said to us was if we had to choose between the periodontal and orthodontist was to get the teeth straightened and if there was problem we could then address that problem. The last thing the orthodontist said to us was we should have a strong foundation to start the straightening process. We are now so confused we do not know which way to proceed. Should the periodontal work be completed prior to the braces or what???????

Avatar n tn Every doctor seems to think it is allergies. I have also recently been to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. Shows chronic sinus problems but no current infection and no need for surgery at the present time. I also do the sinus rinse and have veramyst spray. Ear, nose, and throat specialist said to keep doing what I am doing and contact him in 2 months. I also have GERD and am currently taking Nexium since last May 2007.
Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I have had several root canals and all have failed- except one. I had two bridges break off. I wanted to get implants but read that it's not advisable for Lyme patients. I used to have a horrible crawling and tingling sensation on and around my left ear. I also had what I called "Picasso Vision" where my vision would fragment into three or four sections with strobing wavy lines and flashing lights. The ear and eye problems would come and go for no particular reason. My D.O.
Avatar m tn Yes, my teeth and gums were damaged from GERD. I noticed the enamel on my teeth was eroding and quickly forming black spots, a very upsetting thing. I went to my dentist and he and his staff eliminated the possibility of having an eating disorder (people who force themselves to vomit get bad teeth and gums) and GERD was the primary suspect of my issues.
Avatar f tn When the baby is born they should start to calm down. Floss regually and use mouth wash before u brush your teeth with a medium size brush.
Avatar f tn A bunch of my back teeth are broke off to the gum and my front teeth look so awful. My babies has took all the calcium out of them.
Avatar f tn Because my Dentist would rather wait till after because of the medication
Avatar n tn Up till now I have always passed some tissue paper over my teeth between moments to keep the acid off and then brushed my teeth after each session, but have recently read that this makes matters worse! Is this true? How can I tell if there has been any damage? What can I do to limit the damage, to keep the enamel safe? Is there anything I can put on my teeth to strengthen it? any medicine or something? Is it true that once the enamel is gone it can NEVER be restored?
Avatar n tn I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
785277 tn?1244324809 How long would someone have Bulimarexia (cycles of anorexia followed by cycles of bulimia) until they start to have teeth problems? What kind of teeth problems happen other than decay, and is there anything I can do to lessen the strain on the teeth?
Avatar n tn Then this morning I went for two fillings and was told he saw one more filling and I should get two wisdom teeth out. This is also six months from my original visit (I was away on holidays for 2months), and according to my first visit he said my teeth would be agony by now. A few days ago I also found out that my friend, who goes to the same private dentist as myself was told they needed eight fillings. Coincidence? I'm worried now that the dentist may possibly be doing it for the money?
Avatar n tn still i am having the same problem like my gums were gone below the teeth and I am having pain in taking too cold and too hot foods. I was told by my dentist that a severe bone loss was found in my case that too horizontal bone loss and the reasons are not specific. he advised me to continue the medicines and he advised me to take ayurvedic 'Gum Tone Powder'. Friends I request you to give me some suggestions in keeping my teeth normal.
1763947 tn?1334055319 But then I had some of the most infected teeth cleaned out and capped and I started rigorous flossing, brushing, and faithful use of Listerine at bedtime. Because my CPAP machine causes a great influx of air into my mouth at night which was drying out my teeth, I also started wearing toothguards to keep my teeth moist at night (the toothguards are actually whitening trays made for me in a dental office). It is also possible and good to swish with peroxide before bedtime.
2080404 tn?1643113754 Ugh I can't seem to win. My tooth finally healed, gods it was so sore. Now another tooth feels infected. The gum is all inflamed and the tooth is cracked. Hurts like hell but I've been taking OTC pain medicine and keeping an eye on it. No swelling, thankfully. Just pain. Now my other tooth is hurting cuz I had to chew on that side earlier in the day. How am I supposed to eat anything if I have a tooth on either side acting up??
Avatar n tn That might give your pocket book a chance to catch up too! In the meantime, take good care of those teeth and gums. There is some data that suggests that poor dentition could be related to preterm delivery. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I feel original symptoms were due to emotional problems and depression not being treated, my doc is not interested in.helping cus of budget cuts, I'm.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had teeth problems or work done while preggos? My first born i had two cavaties, which i got fixed after she born. For this one, all 4 of my wisdom teeth are coming out and hurt. The dentist wants to remove them. Advise? Experience??
Avatar m tn The specialist I am seeing has developed a treatment plan that includes grinding down some of my back teeth to relieve the malocclusion, then adjusting my bite with Invisalign braces to move my lower front teeth forward. He says these teeth are crowded and have grown too long altering my bite and stressing my jaw muscles.
Avatar n tn dental work - there are blackbox warnings about osteonecrosis of the jaw (bone death) The mother of a woman that I worked with took Fosamax for a few months and her teeth began to loosen - an oral surgeon had to pull teeth from a quadrant of her mouth and add some sort of bone replacement. The oral surgeon who did my root canal 2 years ago told me (reluctantly) agreed that the bone drugs are becoming controversial.
713126 tn?1229543236 I was wanting to know if there is any relation to thyroid cancer or problems and problems with your teeth. I have thyroid cancer and today I had a piece of my tooth (3rd one from the very back on the bottom) to break off. I have had all kinds of things to go wrong with me having thyroid problems anyways like my hair coming out, etc.
Avatar n tn I had surgery for periodontal disease performed in September 2006. I live overseas, and this surgery was done by a dentist whom I assumed I could trust and who told me that before any work could be done on my teeth, (I had to have a previous tooth extraction due to a failed root canal by another overseas dentist, which would have necessitated a bridge instead of an implant, because there was no bone left in the gum area of the missing tooth)I absolutely had to have surgery.
