Actonel and heart problems

Common Questions and Answers about Actonel and heart problems

actonel

Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
Avatar n tn Every doctor seems to think it is allergies. I have also recently been to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. Shows chronic sinus problems but no current infection and no need for surgery at the present time. I also do the sinus rinse and have veramyst spray. Ear, nose, and throat specialist said to keep doing what I am doing and contact him in 2 months. I also have GERD and am currently taking Nexium since last May 2007.

Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn He wants me to see a rheumatologist but an available appointment will be months away. I am 75 and have been on Vytorin for at least 5 years as well as Actonel. My bone scan last year was good for someone my age. What should I do while waiting to see an arthritis doctor? How serious could this be?

Avatar f tn I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar n tn I have MVP and after every possible heart and lung test, learned I also have a PFO. My MVP is mild with mild regurgitation. My symptoms are severe. I get out of breath easily but all my pulmonary tests are normal. I have chest pains, dizzyness, out of breath very easily, a pounding heart when I lay down. My latest symptoms are burning sensation on my arms and my arms and legs turn purple and get white dots. I've been to two primaries, three cardiologists and three pulmonary guys.
Avatar n tn m 40 years old and recently found out that I also have osteo penia in one of the vertabrae in my lower back and my doctor wants me to take Actonel...however, those bone density medications can really exacerbate the reflux problems.
Avatar f tn t believe that at my age , this is a huge problem for me. I am taking Paxil and for the last 10 years I was taking Actonel, until my doctor suggested I stop because of medical reports showing after long use, it stops working. I know the 2 problems are not linked, but still remain a concern. Is there a medication to stop me from my late night binges. This is when I eat the most. It seems there would be an appetite supressant that would be helpful.
Avatar n tn I was just wondering has anyone had problems flying and heart being worst once in the air? And you know the whole pressure changing?
Avatar f tn However, in 7th grade I began having problems exercising and being active. If I accelerated my heart rate to a certain, seemingly mild, point I would get horrible chest pains accompanied by dizziness, shortness of breath and sometimes nausea. My doctor said it was anxiety and prescribed an albuterol inhaler for before I exercise, and it worked well enough for a while.
Avatar f tn I have been recently diagnosed with MS. I have a lesion in the posterior aspect of the left medulla, among others. The medulla, that's a scary spot, isn't it? I have a 13 yr history of irregular heartbeart, and abnormal heart rate. Over the years, I've had all the tests, and my heart has been deemed structurally sound. No one knew what the problem was, and unfortunately sometimes didn't believe me. Is this my answer?
Avatar m tn I have had a racing heart since before surgery, which lately has been diagnosed as a heart attack due to arrhythmia and enlarged heart. Should I be going to get a c-spine MRI to rule out damage or scar tissue? Anyone experienced heart issues post-op?
Avatar f tn i am a student at the university of leeds. I study product design and for my final project i am designing a pill dispenser. would anyone feel comfortable answering a questionnaire i have designed towards people who take regular medication?
Avatar n tn ) test of my heart and also EKG, and said it was all right. Basically everyone said it was stress and anxiety related. I accepted that explanation, but I can't stop thinking that there is something else wrong with me. Although my symptoms really do point to anxiety, what worries me the most is that for the past month, my "heart" chest pains are getting stronger. Usually they would start late at night when I would lie down to sleep, and did not appear when I was active.
