Actonel and dental problems

Common Questions and Answers about Actonel and dental problems

actonel

Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

Avatar n tn Every doctor seems to think it is allergies. I have also recently been to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. Shows chronic sinus problems but no current infection and no need for surgery at the present time. I also do the sinus rinse and have veramyst spray. Ear, nose, and throat specialist said to keep doing what I am doing and contact him in 2 months. I also have GERD and am currently taking Nexium since last May 2007.
874521 tn?1424116797 I've had no issues in over two years, only two minor cavities which came from eating my favorite taffy candy. I've heard that opiates can decrease the production of saliva and that's what can potentially lead to dental problems. I brush, floss and drink fluoridated water so I haven't had many problems. However dental issues can be related to genetics and diet as well, so it'd be hard to tell what it came from unless everything else remained the same.
Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn they are both linked to dental problems...especially sojourns! so add those to my dental anxiety and im surprised my teeth are as good as they are!
5792451 tn?1390934690 I have a hard protrusion that feels like bone (about the size of a dried pea) on the corner of my lower jaw. The exact term is "the angle of the mandible". I noticed it back when all of my Lyme symptoms started and I've had several CT scans and X-rays and none of my doctors have ever been concerned about it. My jaw and neck have been really sore again the past few days so I made an appointment with a dentist.
Avatar n tn I was shocked as I have had weak gums from a young age so have always brushed, flossed and used mouthwash and have never experienced the slightest discomfort with regards to my teeth. The dentist offered to do 2 fillings that day and I agreed, better to get them done early. Two weeks after my initial visit I was at a routine check up with my orthodontist. While there he commented on how healthy my teeth were.
Avatar n tn I tagged this question on to my last post, but I would really like an answer, so I will try again. Does poor dental problems (tooth decay) heighten the chance of HIV infection via oral sex?
Avatar f tn I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain. Avatar n tn I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar f tn However, had similar problems with dentists when i lived in Michigan since some of my dental problems originated there after my wisdom teeth were reomoved and started to get the TMJ syndrome. Also had 1 filling between 2 molars done by a dentist due to 1 decay between 2 teeth. After that had to do 1 crown to remove that bad filling.
988694 tn?1332359479 Then I started to do more research and found this awkward article about dental malocclusion and hypothyroidism and how related they are. Actually people with severe malocclusion had almost the same symptoms of a hypothyroid person. Call me crazy but after I started my treatment for my bite, to loosen up first, I became tired again, sleeping terrible and having acne again.

Avatar f tn Yes. Dental problems while on tx. I usually have teeth cleaned every 3 mos anyway because of periodontal disease, and while on tx, the hygienist noticed my gums were very inflamed. My careful dental care usually keeps the inflammation down, but it was challenging during tx. In fact, I looked up all the drugs I was taking while on tx, and every one of them included "dry mouth" as a side effect!!! Gums stayed itchy, uncomfortable, and the gum recession increased.
Avatar n tn what are some of the common dental implant problems? This discussion is related to dental implant and systemic disease.
Avatar m tn Occlusion does play a significant role in the pathogenesis of TMD, although this is not fully supported by dental and medical commuinities. However, in my personal experience over hundred cases, occlusal therapy, such as occlusal appliance is extremely effective for relieving TMD associated symptoms, with long-term effect. Occlusal appliance therapy is very conservative and effective, there is no irreversible change of existing dentition.
Avatar f tn Things still have not settled and whilst there was some improvement the teeth either side of the extraction are now aching and ache for some time after eating or drinking. The extraction site still throbs but I expect that is nornal and will settle. The pain and throbbing goes round to my chin but it is only the teeth either side of the1st(?) molar that are sensitive to touch. I sometimes get pins and needles along that side in particular near my chin.
Avatar n tn I was unable to chew on the temporary crown for the entire time because it hurt and felt like I was chewing on tin foil. There is hot and cold sensitivity but my teeth are sensitive anyway. The real problem is that I can't chew without discomfort. My dentist saw me twice and said that the tooth should 'settle down' and that my nerve was 'irritated.' She placed my permanent on with temporary cement a couple of days ago but there was no change..I still can't chew.
Avatar m tn m convinced this issue is related to my dental work and would like to know what next step I need to seek and if anyone else has experienced these problems, and if they ever went away. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I am 30 years old. for the past 5 years i am having severe dental problems like shaking teeth. Some of them are removed by dentist and some treatment was given for others. still i am having the same problem like my gums were gone below the teeth and I am having pain in taking too cold and too hot foods. I was told by my dentist that a severe bone loss was found in my case that too horizontal bone loss and the reasons are not specific.
Avatar n tn As for the Dental problems, most dentists LOVE blaming cavities on oral hygiene. Not many dentists or dental Unversities will blame dental problems on a autoimmune diseases because Health Insurance would have to pay for bridges, dental inplants, crowns, root cannals, periodontal cleanings and so on. The Dental companies, such as, 3M and Nobel Biocare are far more shady and greedier than the pharmaceutical companies.
