activella

429647 tn?1249753429 m on Activella which is a lowdose combination HRT pill (bio Estrogen but nonbio Progesterone)and feeling good on that. If you plan on starting HRT, consider starting on the lowest possible dose and see if that relieves your symptoms. When you change dose it can take a few months to even out and it is easier to work your way up than down in dose. There are pros and cons for HRT. Did you have your cancer tested for estrogen receptors? That can be a big factor in making a decision.
Avatar f tn Menopause is not fair. You sound a lot like me. I went on HRT because I was so anxious all the time, wasn't sleeping, kind of depressed and had hot flashes. The HRT helped with the hot flashes and I don't have mood swings very much anymore but the anxiety and depressed feelings are still there. My gynecologist put me on the generic for Zoloft 25mg but I only take half that. I have only been on it for about a week but I am still anxious, shaky, and don't sleep. I have Ativan .
778736 tn?1235756590 I was put on a hormone replacement because I was suffering about 3 months ago (Activella) which saved me. Since January I work out 3/4 times a week, practically a vegan with an occasional chicken or fish. Now it's 2 months into this and I again teater on 138-142. What is going on????? I'm doing everything right but not loosing that extra 10 lbs that I don't want.
1936550 tn?1348360208 My wife is using this birth control pills that are called ACTIVELLA shes been using them for a wile now and they really work. But i would recommend you to ask your doctor, only a doctor would tell you whats best for you.
Avatar n tn Sorry I am too new at the hrt thing myself. I have just been relying on my doctor to tell me what is best for me.
Avatar f tn My oncologist has made it very clear that I am not a canidate for HRT even though I have had a bilateral mastectomy and the cancer I had was not hormone dependent. They only thing she may consider is an estrogen ring which only releases a small amount of estrogen which absorbs locally. Very little is actually released into the bloodstream. This would only be used if other non-hormonal lubricants did not work. This will not do much for other menopausal symptoms.
Avatar m tn I stopped HRT in late Nov. after 12 years (I was on a very low dose) and am now struggling with sleep. I can fall asleep just fine but wake up every 45 min- 1 hour all night long. Even sleeping pills like Lunesta and Halcion don't get me through the whole night, I am awake by 2 or 3 am and then off and on for the rest of the night. I did not have any problems with sleep while on HRT but each time I've tried to go off, I have trouble with sleep.
Avatar f tn I would do alot of research - there are some good message boards on HRT and what is available. Bioidenticals are identical to what your body would be making and that's what I'm on now and anxiety is gone, no more heart palps, and no more off and on hot flashes - which I rarely got but I sometimes did. Please don't go estrogen dominant. American Dr.'s are so far behind the times when it comes to our hormones.
Avatar f tn That seems to work great, no more real low moments but the last week I have noticed ( been off hrt now for 16 months ) that I am experiencing alot of vaginal dryness, cotton mouth, breast tenderness and the dreaded hot flashes. I do not know what to do. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn My Dr. put me on an hrt FEMHRT. I started my period again Monday is this normal or not. My Dr. told me to continue taking them.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi guys, just a question about HRT.............. anyone out there on it, and does it affect your MS drugs, and did it help?? I was prescribed Climara .05 in a patch once a week, and I'm scared to try it. I was just wondering if anyone out there has tried these drugs and what was your take on them. Any feedback would be appreciated.... Thxs..
Avatar f tn I had a FULL hysterectomy 6 weeks ago. I was put on HRT. I stopped taking it without doctor knowing about 2 weeks ago because of the horrible headaches. I feel fine without it and definitely don't have the headaches. I'm 42, my sex drive is fine and I have a had a couple of hot flashes but nothing crazy. What happens if I stay off of the HRT?
Avatar f tn The gyn took me off the HRT and told me to take Progesterone 10mg for 10 days then restart on half the dose of HRT. The HRT at least helped with the hot flashes and mood swings, however, did nothing for the anxiety. I started Zoloft 12.5mg five days ago and now the anxiety is worse. Don't know if it's from the Zoloft or from not having taken the HRT for a few days. This is such a miserable time in my life. I just don't know how much more I can take.
1663554 tn?1302898976 It often takes some trial and error to get the right hrt or combo hrt for ones body, I was lucky just needed estrogen used a patch ( these are nice, easy to use and you know your getting correct dose) I used Vivelle dot , its rather popular many find it is all they need. Remember one very important thing. any medication you start you can also stop, Its a good idea to see a new branch of specialts called Nurse practioners that practice in a gynos office and advice on hrt as their specialty.
Avatar m tn There is estrogen-only HRT and combined (estrogen plus progestin or progesterone) HRT. Women who have a uterus who take HRT must take progestin or progesterone if they take estrogen in order to protect their uterine lining from the proliferative effects of estrogen. Estrogen is not associated with an increased risk of any type of cancer (except endometrial/uterine).
Avatar n tn t know if you watched Oprah today, but her show was all about HRT. I guess Dr. Northrop is an expert on HRT and she was suppose to do a webcast earlier tonight on Oprah's website - I missed it because I had fallen asleep on the couch! I could kick myself for that! It really would have been informative.
Avatar f tn As for your idea to think about HRT or hormone replacement therapy. Please do some research about HRT before you decide to use it, google the topic etc. You will find HRT has a possible link with breast cancer. You don't need HRT. There are other alternatives. You say osteoporosis runs in your family. Even so you don't have to take HRT. A family member took HRT for almost 20 years plus actually. Her genecologist put her on it. Five years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if calcium supplement can hinder the absorption of hrt..also when is the best time to take hrt..
566073 tn?1219434819 t want to give you any false hopes because it was a gynocologist (not an oncologist) who told me at the time that there are several types of treatments for tumour amongst which are HRT, chemo and radio therapies. He also said that HRT would have been the best option for my mum's age if her tests (biopsy) reveal that her tumour is non-cancerous.
1321741 tn?1304530624 I had a complete hysterectomy when I was 28 and immediately began HRT. I'm now 59 and still using HRT. My mother is 82 and is still using HRT. I think how long you take the meds is between you and your doctor and the risk factors you may or may not have.
Avatar f tn I see a BC tomorrow afternoon to go over records, What kind of Biopsy is the most accurate Core Needle??? Should I be testing lymph nodes as well at this time???? I menpausal and am on HRT, should I stop taking it or wait for the MD to give his advice???
