778736 tn?1235756590 My colesterol was fairly high too (was 276 and now with a statin an good diet is down to 190). I lost a lot of weight within 2 years by eating right and excercising and came down to 127 and maintained it up til a few months ago. Last year I started skipping my period and was still working out but slowly gaining weight again. I started since September going into the 130's and now am teatering on 138-142.
Avatar n tn I am losing my mind here. I am 57 and have been in menopause for about 4 years and am on hormones (Activella. which is perfect for me. ) So i think. Some background.... From 12 when I first got my period to 33 I had perfect periods. No cramps. No excessive bleeding. Then one period my life changed. For the next 20 years I had life-altering cramps and hemorrage type bleeding. Anaprox alleviated the cramps and I lived on it.
1936550 tn?1348360208 My wife is using this birth control pills that are called ACTIVELLA shes been using them for a wile now and they really work. But i would recommend you to ask your doctor, only a doctor would tell you whats best for you.
Avatar f tn i would say about 6 months of not smoking and i couldnt take it, i still felt lousy. so i started again and about two or three days later felt amazingly wonderful !! my 20 pounds i had gained in the past 6 months was off in a matter of a month. i had all my energy back and life was fine. so i went to my physical this year and told my dr. who was upset i didnt go last year to the specialist that i would go. she gave me the papers for the tests and i had the bloodwork done.
Avatar m tn Ok I will do that when I see my gyn in May. The only time I break out is when I get stressed out. I will want her to order the best test that would be able to see the difference between hsv1 and hsv2 which one would that be? I have never had any sores or blisters on my bottom ever just on my thumbs. My bf now my fiance is going to get tested after I get retested. We both show no symptoms at all. I'm going through menaupause bad that is all and now taking activella. If I'm positive 1.
517871 tn?1252289824 I just recalled there was a really large post bout smoking and thyroids and/or thyroid meds ... maybe do a search and plug in "smoking thyroid" and see if it comes up .. about 2 weeks ago maybe?
Avatar f tn Hello. I have chronic pain due to many issues and when I quit smoking, my pain levels decreased dramatically so from my perspective, I have to say Yes!
Avatar f tn I have a close family member who is Bipolar and stopped smoking. She had to quit smoking cold-turkey because she became pregnant. SHe said that it was fairly easy for her but i could tell the mood swings did become a bit stronger. She said the hardest part was just focusing on the goal, No Smoking. I hope this inspires you to stop smoking! Good Luck!!!
Avatar f tn s better than smoking. Try to eat small snacks and healthy ones when u can. Go for walks also! Good luck and congrats!
Avatar f tn I smoked for 10 years before I got pregnant and I quit cold turkey as soon as I found out. My doctor told me I did the right thing and now I'm 26 weeks and baby and I are perfectly fine. Your body will not go into shock. Continuing to smoke will do much more harm to the baby than quitting cold turkey ever could. And no you can continue having sex however you want unless your doctor says otherwise.
Avatar f tn I have been smoking this for 1 week ,and after 2 days of smoking I have begun feeling anxiety, restlesness, insomnia, lak of apetite, and those symptoms agravated to the point of having bizzare thoughts, the fear that I am going crazy, extreme anxiety(with mild derealization sensations) an allergie on my neck and three sleepless nights,so after 7 days of smoking it I stopped. Before this I have had 2 rough years with a lot of personal dissapoiments, bad sleep at night , stress at work, worring .
Avatar f tn I was smoking about 10 cigarettes a day and I just found out that I'm pregnant. I'm only about 4 weeks in. Since then I have cut back to almost no cigarettes. Today I have only had 4 drags off one and it was stupid I won't be smoking again. I've been having cramps for a week. This is my second pregnancy but I am soooo worried about miscarriage. How can I keep myself from worrying so much??
1541754 tn?1294331420 Worse, the club that I work at just went non-smoking at the start of the year and its driving me totally crazy thinking about needing cigarettes all the time - making it hard to remember peoples names or orders and just generally do my job. I dont exactly want to try and deal with quitting smoking right now, thats too much to deal with, but I dont want to mess up my ADD treatment. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
2037415 tn?1332166326 m 6 weeks and also still smoking and also hiding it from everybody probably smoking 5 a day and I feel horrible but now I'm scared if I stop ill stress the baby and miscarry
Avatar m tn To improve lung function practice breathing exercises and quit smoking. Lung function tests could further help in evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Smoking cigs lowers your supply of breast milk and the nicotine does goes through your breast milk i took a breast feeding class and that's what she said. I quit when I found out I was pregnant and I figured I might as well not start back up BC I don't want to have to go though quitting again it was easier to quit BC I was pregnant.
Avatar f tn Hey. Don't feel bad. Just don't do it anymore. I had a girls night and found out the next day I was expecting. I'm 5 weeks. I drank all month and didn't know until the end of September that I was expecting.
Avatar f tn Yes. And smoking around your baby in general is bad. Having it on your skin and breath is bad and sets him up to do it when he's older. You made it this lomg without smoking. Don't go back there, ypu don't wanna do that for the rest of your life do you?
1554665 tn?1294354952 One of the other girls at the doctors office where I was was outside smoking at the same time I was, and she mentioned how chain smoking can sometimes be related to being bipolar. I figure Ive been chain smoking pretty much since I was in middle school, and have been smoking two to three packs a day or more ever since high school, so maybe they are related? idk? Anyone else have experience with this?
Avatar f tn If you're wanting to stay clean and keep your baby, you're going to have to make some serious changes. Even if you tell the ob all of this and it works out good, you just said "the baby's dad is smoking in front of you all the time" so in a few weeks it won't just be YOU. He will also be doing it infront of your baby. So there is another reason for CS to step in.
Avatar f tn I breast fed while I smoked and my 2 year old is as healthy as it gets and im currently 19 weeks and will breastfeed my other little girl as well don't let ppl judge you either. Breastfeeding is so good for baby.
Avatar f tn I had the same problem then I would stress about it and feel guilty about smoking and turn around and smoke even more. I finally talked to my doctor about it and she said the same thing these ladies are saying. That if the stress is to much then continue to smoke but just cut back as much as possible. Don't get me wrong I still feel guilty but am not stressing as much. It's so nice to know I'm not the only one going through this.
Avatar m tn so how comes we are also advised not to smoke either? Right i know Smoking causes lung cancer and other forms of cancer but how is it directly as bad as acohol to the liver? Right i lied: I have one more question for the vets here: I was told my v/load from my liver biopsy showed 1,337,000U/L when i originally found out i had HBV.... Went onto Interferon and unfotunately did not find out what my VL was when i stopped a year later... I am now on combo treatment :- adevori + Lumuvudine....
Avatar n tn I have read everything on smoking and constipation on the web. From taking stool softners, to laxatives, to Vitamin C, to just waiting it out. I'm trying not to take anything because they say your digestive system goes back to "normal" in a few days to a few weeks. My question is what are you to do if you do not go for those weeks, at all? Everything I have read never discusses this problem. As of right now, I have quit smoking.
