Avatar m tn You may need treatment for as long as you are prone to acne. Antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline may need to be taken long term, and most patients can do this without serious side effects. Bert is right. Differin is a topical syntheitc retinoid which is really effective and generally well tolerated. Have you discussed Accutane (oral Isotretinoin) with your doctor? This is considered the "gold star" treatment for acne.

Avatar m tn Hello, Fusidic acid and minocycline are both antibiotics which are used for the treatment of acne. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar f tn I never knew why my chin of all places since I never had problems with acne before. I use this clean and clear wash I got from Walmart with benzoyl peroxide in it. It'll dry out your face but I haven't broken out since! I also had backne (god that was terrible and a first).
4526747 tn?1356283415 m 37 weeks with a little girl, and because of all the hormones I have been getting a little bit of acne. I was wondering if anyone knew some good, safe products I could use. I have no idea because I never had acne until about 3 months into my pregnancy.
2170635 tn?1357911686 Eczema is best defeated by changing your soaps to hypoallergenic.... Including laundry soap. To me it honestly sounds like normal baby acne just a little extreme. Make a list of what you've tried and call your doctor. My son often needed a steroidal creme as an infant to kick things like this.
9062363 tn?1402521075 Acne attacked my face this pregnancy I'm having my second boy and he better come out gorgeous because he stole all my beauty haha. What helps me is using all natural products. In the morning when I shower I have this walnut scrub that I got from an all natural soap store or you can go online to etsy.com and look up soaps and at night I use apple cider vinegar to remove my make up NOT EYE MAKE UP it will burn then I use an oatmeal soap bar to wash my face and its gone down so much.
Avatar m tn I am a 22 y.o. male; 1 sexual partner lifetime, female, (for 2.5 years), we last had intercourse 6 mos. before the epididymitis flared up. Problem started while I was taking minocycline for acne. Went in to student health. NP RXed 10 days doxycycline, 100 mg PO BID, sent me to ER. Had an ultrasound, confirmed it was epididymitis plus a hydrocele. They gave me a shot of ceftriaxone and told me to continue with the doxycycline.
Avatar f tn This preggy chick needs to stay out of walmart! Is it just me or is walmart just a meeting place for every idiot in town??
Avatar f tn ll get scarring because of the type of acne (cystic acne is apparently more prone to scarring). Is there any way to minimize the scarring? What do you ladies use to cover up? when does it go away?

Avatar n tn Hi Sir, I used to get pimples around my face, back and chest however I had undergone a treatment and the problem subsided eventually however the moment I left the treatment I again started getting pimples or some kind of infection. I am again undergoing a treatment and the doctor says that this is a normal concern....I got some reports done and everything is fine.. Please let me know how long will this continue? will I be ever able to get rid of this medication?
Avatar n tn Hello, two days ago I got a few small bumps on my upper back. Today there are plenty more, and they have white heads like acne, but im certain that it's not acne. I think it has to be a reaction to something but I am not sure what. I eat different things, and workout at the gym a lot and sweat. Any clue what may have caused this and what I can do to make it go away? I have taken benadryla few times, but that has not helped.
Avatar f tn t even think it was baby acne anymore! but it turned out it was acne it was just so so bad they actually put neostatin(the diaper rash cream) on it, sorry I know that's not spelled right. we even went and got aveno but it didn't work for brody but u can try it for ur baby! it took about 4 months to get better but he still breaks out some.he has really sensitive skin!
Avatar f tn Yeah I have never had a problem with acne til I was about 6 weeks pregnant and I still get some acne but since I've started washing my face in the morning and at night and not wearing make up it has gotten a lot better. I still get a blemish once in a while but not as bad as it was.
Avatar f tn Well toothpaste always dries up acne for me... But check with your doctor... I believe there was only one face scrub I found that was safe during pregnancy but it was nothing like the prescribed meds. You can't have anything with sacylic acid in it which is what usually dries up the acne.
Avatar n tn I found two articles in the medical literature about electrothermolysis, just uncontrolled pilot studies, but neither referred to acne treatment--one was about treating facial seborrhea, the other was about hair removal. So basically, I don't know. There are other acne treatments you might want to consider, such as laser treatments to minimize oil glands, They are safe and have shown modest effectiveness, though it's not always long lasting.
Avatar m tn I went to the dermatologist and wasn't able to see a doctor, instead I was seeing by an intern who didn't seem to know what she was doing but anyway, she prescribed me what my primary care physician had already put me on for 10days; SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 Tab Interpharm to treat my infected acne. She told me she's going to keep me on it for 8 months. Now, if this is an antibiotic, is it normal to be prescribed for that long? and for acne grade III?
