Common Questions and Answers about Acne treatment sensitive skin

acne

Avatar n tn How old are you? What is your skin type? Oily? Dry? Sensitive? Is it flaky? Most acne sufferers have more sensitive skin than they think and they treat and treat and treat and rarely see any good results. Overwashing and scrubbing and medicating is the last thing the skin needs. The key is to getting the it balanced. If you are red, your skin is probably very irritated and needs a break from any cleansers or treatments. Wash in the morning with a very mild cleanser (no harsh chemicals!
Avatar f tn I have uneven patches on my face; some parts are dark brown then the others. I also have acne scars on my face as well. What's a good cream for this? By the way, I have very sensitive skin. If a product doesn't match up to my skin properly, my skin turns red. Write back ASAP. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I need some advice on how to deal with my 13 year old daughter's skin. A year or so ago she was getting a lot of pimples. We purchased a regular acne care cleanser and she began using it once a day. It made her skin very dry and flaky, so we switched to a "sensitive skin" acne cleanser. We assumed that the BP in most acne cleansers was just drying her sking too much. She began using the sensitive skin acne cleanser twice a day. She does NOT use a moisturizer.

Avatar m tn My skin is also sensitive but I think it may be more sensitive now due to over washing. Can your nerves become more sensitive in your face from over washing and putting moisturizer on it?
313193 tn?1194192298 Another skin product that I found very useful was Neutrogena (for sensitive skin) - not sure if you have it in the UK, but it workes wonders for me when I have acne. I use the stuff that has little microbeads in it - it helps get the dirt/oil out of the poors. It literally feels like hand lotion with sand in it. Your skin could be very sensitive and thus by using a more powerful solution it will just harm your skin.
15642279 tn?1441935921 So for the past few months I've had acne. Its all over my upper back, chest, breasts and under my breasts. I have extremely sensitive skin and I've tried everything and it doesn't let up! I'm frustrated because it's hard to feel good about myself when I'm emberassed! What have you guys tried that have been the best considering acne treating medications or cleansers or anything! I'm desperate, I wanna be able to look down and not see a bunch of acne for once!
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 25 year old female who has been struggling with acne and itchy skin for 5 years now. I've been to several dermatologists that debate the diagnosis of Rosacea or just sensitive skin. I've been on all types of topicals and antibiotics with no relief from the itch. My face itches and feels tight practically everyday and seems to come and go in bursts of intensity. Some days it feels completely normal and then instantly becomes itchy and tight feeling.
Avatar f tn Third trimester is the worst! I wash face 2-3 x a day. Use a sulfer mask twice a week. Also clinique acne solution soft spot treatment works well. My bf scrubs my back for me once a day w face wash too.
Avatar f tn I will probably wait about a year before doing anything drastic to improve my skin after the accutane, since I know my skin is very sensitive and will probably take longer than most to recover from such a harsh treatment as accutane sounds. I'd rather be safe than sorry with how I scar.
Avatar f tn just started treatment 5 days ago (it already feels like forever). I have many symptoms, but the latest and greatest is my skin is so sensitive!! I have a rash on my torso, but it's not so much itchy as incredibly sensitive. Trying to dress for work everyday is awful, does anyone have any good tips on managing this?? Is everyone else working through their treatment?
Avatar f tn I turn quite pink when i eat anything processed, could this be very sensitive skin or a food intolerance or anything like that? I've had problems with my stomach and some other signs of celiac for a while.. would this make me turn pinkish-red when i eat?
Avatar f tn Then she put on the exfoliator (IDK what it was called but I know it had salicidic and lactic acid in it) It started burning SO SO badly. I have very sensitive skin and I know this skin therapist has done this treatment on some of my friends who are sensitive without these results. She removed it immediately and the stinging sensation stopped within a few minutes. but the redness continues.
Avatar n tn If persistant post-acne scars remain consider microdermabrasion or a chemical skin peel. I live in Bristol, United Kingdom and go to Fuss Salon in The Galleries Shopping Centre. Eloise.
Avatar m tn local treatment with azelaic acid, salicylic acid, topical retinoids, benzoyl peroxide. Mild papulo-pustular (inflammatory) acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids, topical antibiotics (such as erythromycin). Moderate inflammatory acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids combined with oral antibiotics (tetracyclines). Isotretinoin is an option.
583092 tn?1218128207 If it is an allergic reaction it only happens on the places where I really do not use he acne treatment? My skin has become really dry in those places that were itchy, so I wanted to know if it was eczema or not and if the acne treatment could be the cause.
Avatar f tn It does make skin more sensitive to sun. How sensitive probably depends on how well it's doing what it's supposed to do, which is cause part of your skin protection to peel off so you have less acne. It's a tradeoff. If you believe this tradeoff is worth it, then use sunscreen. How this will affect Vitamin D absorption I don't know, you might want to find out if you need to supplement with it.
Avatar n tn Mine does on and of to.at the beginning of this preg I had acne like a teen all over again.and my skin has been super sensitive, I've been using dove body wash or aveeno sensitive face wash and coconut oil for moisturizer. That's all I found to work without making it super dry and itchy.
Avatar n tn At this point, I would advise that you have a baseline consult with a dermatologist first prior to applying anything on the face. Some topical antibiotics and anti acne medications such as tretinoin may cause some skin reactions given direct heat or sun exposure. Are you taking any of these medications?
1044846 tn?1253522908 Just what it sounds like, but here's the kicker; I don't smoke, I don't share drinks, food, utensils, makeup, or lip balm, and I haven't kissed anyone outside of my family in 6+ months or had Sexual contact in almost a year (it's been a busy, boring, funeral-filled year. D: ). they're tiny, in a very small group, and on my bottom lip. They almost feel like dry-skin bumps, but I've never HAD bumps on my lips before. One of them may look like it has a blackhead. Is it.
Avatar f tn ( please help?
Avatar f tn Everything Ive tried didnt work so I just used Dove soap (the kind for sensitive skin w/ no dyes or scent and is soap free) and used this amazing hand thingy that fits over your hand like a mitt and one side has bamboo and the other is VERY soft. I used the bamboo side for my face and did it before bedtime and when I got up in the morning. It helped some but gradually the acne stopped on its own.
