Avatar n tn Hello, Do not use any alpha hydroxy acid products (those containing glycolic or lactic acid), salicylic acid products, retinoids (Retin A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac) and other topical acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide for 72 hours after the treatment. Also any scarubbing or acne soaps should be avoided for atleast 1 week after the miscrodermabrasion procedure.
Avatar f tn I tested the product 2 nights ago starting with 30% glycolic acid. First I used Cetaphil to cleanse my face, Second, I used pre treatment pad(offered by glytone) Contains alcohol. Third, I made sure my face was completely dried and started to use the 30% glycolic peel pad. I started from the right side of my face(went around eyes& mouth) and alternated to the left side of my face.

Avatar f tn You need to go to a dermatologist who can prescribe to you facial peels with aha, salicylic acid or glycolic acid in them. Creams containing these (and more) ingredients also work very well in lightening and treating acne. maybe a combination of peels and creams/gels. Microdermabrasion also works very well in smoothing the surface of the skin. There is so much new medical tech out there for scars etc., that you shouldn't have to live with them anymore.
773889 tn?1235450567 Now the line has become a back circle and its on the middle of my nose. Retin A, Azelaic Acid and Glycolic acid are the safest medications because my dermatologist strongly advised me to avoid products with hydroqunone. My dermatologist recently advised me to increase the glycolic acid strength and apply as following. I also feel this is the most effective way. At night. Azelaic Acid 20% cream ( wait 20 mins) Retin A 0.05 ( wait 20 mins) Glycolic Acid 15% cream Moisturizer.

Avatar f tn it might seem like a minor issue but my skin is so important to me and since i’m only 16 i don’t want my skin to be bad as i grow up. ive thought about ‘The Ordinarys’ glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid and niacinamide with zinc but they target for acne, fine lines or blemishes and i don’t suffer with any of those . ive also heard they’re not fresh for melanin and since i’m mixed i don’t want to effect my skin complexion.
Avatar f tn Products with glycolic acid can help like facial wash, moisturizer, and facial wipes can be used together. (Just use them separately first until you adjust). Various products are available at Sephora. Just check the ingredient list to avoid the non pregnancy safe substances like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and retinol.
Avatar f tn My dermatologist gave me a glycolic acid peel, the pimple seemed to dry up and there was a scab on top of the area where it was located. Now the scab is gone, but the area is still hyperpigmented and there's a small, hard bump under the skin where the pimple was. Is this a keloid or just the pimple that isn't completely gone? Or is it something else?
Avatar f tn My primary care physician does not know what it is and her recommended treatment did not work. (Acne alcohol pads and pure aloe vera gel) ANY IDEAS?!
Avatar m tn cleanser, toner and moisturizer, containing glycolic acid. Next day right after application the skin between the lower lip and a chin as well as around the nose became red, scratchy, and there was a sense of burning. Esthetician suggested to continue usage saying that the skin should adjust to the acid. After a week the peeling skin was gone but the redness remained. Also small red bumps started to appear around the cheeks and forehead.
Avatar m tn Okay, before I did this 30% glycolic acid peel I did a little research on it. Now, when I was researching people said, that there should be a little bit of redness, drying, scabbing, and peeling of the skin. The symptoms that is. So when I first applied it , it didn't really bother my skin as bad as I thought it was. There was little bit of a tingling not really harsh or lenient. I give it about a 4 out of 10 on a level of, I guess burning or a stinging sensation.
Avatar m tn Other treatment options include shaving in a different direction, tweezing, exfoliating with facial scrubs, sponges, towels or creams containing acid and ibuprofen or other NSAIDs. Topical application of dilute glycolic acid and salicylic prepared solutions are also helpful. You can consult a dermatologist and discuss these treatment options with him.
