I have mild, maybe slightly moderate acne. I get keloids on other parts of my body, but thankfully not my face. I still get abnormal facial scarring though.

I am a college student and my current medical insurance does not cover the cost of keloid removals, it is considered cosmetic surgery. I don't think anyone can truely imagine how it feels to walk around in a society so uptight about outward apperances, to understand how uncomfortable and embarrassing it is to live with these keloids. I feel like damage goods! I can't wear earrings, or tie my hair back, because I don't want them to be front and center when people look at me.

I do not know if there would be a difference in cost for adult, but TOTAL, the surgery cost $5400.00. We have a $3500 deductible and ended up paying about $3200.00. It was VERY costly, BUT worth it in my mind. Our other option was to let him do it when he was older. He now says his penis is "normal" and that is what we wanted. Ask about the option to have it done under local anethesia instead of surgery... would be much cheaper...
