Avatar n tn Is it normal to have breakouts every day? I'm 31 weeks today and I have had acne all over my chest, shoulders arms and lower jaw. Also is there a safe way to treat while pregnant? I'm so aggravated with the itchy skin and scarring left from the old bumps. It's not cute at all.
Avatar n tn It would be unusual to have acne vulgaris solely on the arms. I think you may have been mis-diagnosed and subsequently given the wrong type of ointment. See a doctor where you live now for re-evaluation and advice.
Avatar n tn I just got back from the Derm today and he reviewed my skin and he said that my acne redness is scarring.. Now i thought scarring is indentions in the skin? Is it not and that acne redness will fade with time because according to my derm he said that my acne redness is scarring and that the redness wont go away and that theres nothing that can be done about it. He said that i'll have to live with it for the rest of my life and that the only possible treatment for this is laser.
Avatar n tn It worked a treat but 9months after I had finished treatment the acne returned. Over the years I have been on 3 treatments of Roacutane for about 18months each with the same result about 9 months later. At the age of 23 I went to a new dermatologist who suggested trialing a 4th treatment of Roacutane, I refused not knowing the permanent damage it might have on my body especially considered I'd like to have children one day and Roacutane causes birth deformities.
Avatar f tn t know how this effects people with abnormal scarring. These studies seem to be based on people with no unusual scarring, just the general population of accutane recipients. I've posted my question in the "ask a doctor" forum hoping for a more detailed response regarding the use of accutane in those with abnormal scarring who do not have what would be considered "severe" acne.
Avatar n tn Significance Red bumps on your cheeks may signal acne, sometimes referred to as pimples or zits, and can result in scarring if left untreated. Acne also forms on the neck, chest, shoulders or back -- the areas of your body with the most oil glands. Acne bumps often heal slowly and new bumps typically appear as the older ones vanish, according to MayoClinic.com.
Avatar n tn You are probably talking about Hidradenitis suppurativa, which presents as recurrent boil-like pus-like discharge abscesses resulting in difficult-to-heal open wounds and scarring. It commonly occurs on apocrine sweat gland-bearing skin such as in the groin, the underarms and under the breasts. Avatar n tn is it possible to get any laster treatment or or pulsed light or dermabrasion or anything on my penis to help with the scarring? A pamphlet for Palomar pulsed light says it can be performed anywhere on the body except around the eyes.
Avatar f tn I've had the same spontaneous scarring since I was 23; I am now 30. Random divots, pockmarks, slight wrinkles. I had the little dots/pore-like lines connecting for a time, but it stopped. No real help is out there; most dermatologists or docs just brush it off as general acne scarring of just "aging." I've recently had very long, deep indentations at where nasolabial folds would form come out, out of nowhere. Not sure if any of you have Googled....
Avatar n tn Hi, a couple of months ago, as the title of this post sugests ive started to get some acne mainly on my upper back and now also on my shoulders too. Cant believe it how it looks now and how it used to look (i was clear, and even used to make fun of my sister's acne on her back!). Damn puberty... =p What's the best product (cream or natural) that would get rid of these marks and acne effectively?

Avatar f tn ll get scarring because of the type of acne (cystic acne is apparently more prone to scarring). Is there any way to minimize the scarring? What do you ladies use to cover up? when does it go away?
Avatar f tn Piercing with a needle is fine as long as you do it a certain way I found a website similar to this topic on how to pop a pimple on the lip area a proven method by dr.
Avatar f tn t just the acne, but mainly the resulting scars that made me decide to seek the help of a professional. I get keloids on most of my body, but not on my face. I do have abnormal/excessive scarring on my face, but I wouldn't compare it to the keloids on my body. The facial scars are generally quite flat, but brightly pigmented (the color of inflamed acne, unfortunately). They do not seem to improve much at all with time.
Avatar n tn Also, what are the risks of additional scarring? I am getting the procedure done on bumps on my nose. Here is my story: I plan to undergo electrocauterization on my nose soon. I have a few bumps on my nose, roughly 1 large one, 2 medium size ones, and 3 small size ones. At first, I believed this bumps were hypertrophic acne scars. I thought this because the bumps appear exactly on the same location where I had pimples.
Avatar f tn For a couple of months now I have been getting spots on my neck, I don't think its acne however, I am not sure, it is really embaressing as its clearly visible on the skin leaving scars.
Avatar m tn If the acne scars are fairly new, then aloe vera applied during your nighttime facial regimen will help reduce the acne scarring redness of the spots over a few weeks. At age 21, this should be a good treatment. For quicker results (and little more expensive), salicylic acid peels and microdermabrasion treatments done by an aesthetician or a dermatologist will also help reducing scar tissue by removing the top layer(s) of skin - there's a noticeable difference after 2-3 treatments.
Avatar f tn Hi, Acne scarring results when the visible remnants of acne are left on the skin after the acne itself subsides. The best way of treating acne scars is to start early. There are some treatments available for this condition. By using topical treatments prescribed by your dermatologists, such as biological acne scarring treatment where in the old, damaged tissues and scars are replaced by new cells.
5714021 tn?1568665171 Normally, this would be good news to any average person, but to me, it just meant there was no explanation for what I had going on. The scarring would happen every week, meaning every week when I looked in the mirror, I would notice a new dent or some damage of a sort. You can imagine how depressed I became due to all this, esp since I am someone who cares about his looks and appearance a lot. It's been tough as hell for me on this journey, but it doesn't end there.
Avatar n tn I have large [10 pence size] x 10 and smaller spots x 80 some with yellow heads on back of legs, arms, buttocks, torso, breasts, back I am very lethargic and cold, at first [7 days ago] itchy but more tingly and shivery now, can you help ? Foliculitis has been mentioned but my problem areas are not hairy parts of my body.
Avatar m tn I use an oil free non comedogenic foundation, every morning and night I've been taking Doxycycline for somewhere around 6 months now. I've also been using a topical Adapalene 0.1% Cream for about the same amount of time. I've noticed no improvement in my acne. Keeps appearing everywhere, and I've moved to having to add the Adapalene cream on my arms as well. I've only noticed an improvement on my arms. And now I have this boil on my chin. Great.
Avatar n tn Daughter wants to get a chemical peel for some acne scarring on her facial cheeks. She has been on antibiotics (too harsh on stomach), antibiotic topical cream, retin-A, you name it over the years. We even paid out of pocket for dermabrasion treatments several years ago. She is currently on the form of the Pill as well to help with the acne. There is some scarring, but not severe. She is a young woman and frustrated and wants a solution to this situation.
Avatar n tn For the past 6 months she has had a lot of small bumps on her arms that almost look like tiny white-heads. I had her using anti-acne wash on it until our doctor said it was eczema and prescribed a stronger prescription cream to treat it. My daughter has developed a habit of picking at and scratching these pimple-like bumps, although she said they really dont itch. She is getting scarred from this. Our doctor now says she needs to be treated for scabies.
Avatar m tn Hi, This could be keratosis pilaris, a very common condition in which there are numerous rough follicular spots, which may be skin coloured, red or brown on the outer aspect of the upper arms. It is most prevalent during the teenage years and persist into adult life. It has a tendency to be more severe during the winter months or other times of low humidity when skin dries out. This is genetic in origin and no cure is available.
584681 tn?1218264788 t shave in the area. I have the same thing mostly on outside of thighs and tiny on outside of arms. (My baby is 7 mos old. I am still nursing.) I say the dermatologist and she was no help. "don't scrub, b/c it could make it drier," Don't pick," like I did, "because you make it worse." I think it is hormonal, paired with sensitive skin and have been told it will go away.
