Avatar f tn ve been looking for articles regarding the use of accutane in patients with keloid/hypertrophic scarring, but all I can seem to find are horror stories of people taking accutane and going and having laser treatment/dermabrasion resulting in keloid formation. I would never do that to my skin during such a delicate time! I just want to know what to expect of my keloid prone skin *while taking* accutane. I can't find anything on the subject! My question is...
Avatar n tn It is said that laser can destroy oil glands. Please look into research about the DHT hormone responsible for acne (roaccutane blocks this). I'd say your dose was too low to stop acne but would have little effect on an existing cyst. There are natural DHT blockers. One is called Saw Palmetto. Laser treatment can resurface the skin & get rid of scars. However it would take multiple treatments. A surgeon could also perform Dermabrasion (not to be confused with microdermabrasion).

(MRSA probably) I got 3 boils on the area. Went to a doct, was prescibed antiobiotics and all went away. The only problem is that I have 3 purplish scars left that just won't go away no matter what I do. They are a little unflattened, and dark purple.
