Common Questions and Answers about Acne cyst neck

acne

My acne problems now center occasionaly around the area of the jaw line and on both sides of the neck. Is there any reason for acne to show up in these areas? stress? I don't lean or push anything (i.e. phone)in these areas. Any suggestion to get rid of these last problems is greatly appreciated.
I am looking for help in regards to my 13 year old daughter. She has severe cystic acne for the past 7 months. The cystic acne was just beginning late last year in 2013. The oral antibiotics were of no further help so we started Accutane in Dec 2013. She had the terrible initial flare but it has not stopped!! She started out on Accutane 30mg twice a day and then bumped up to 40mg twice a day. Then dropped to 40mg once a day. She weighs about 155lbs.
I got what looks like a cyst on the back of my neck about a year and a half ago and i get what looks like cyst acne on my face and neck and my girlfriend just told me she has a cyst on her armpit it looks like the same thing is this anything serious
Sometimes it's nearly as bad as it used to be and it is very uncomfortable. It's also frustrating as after nearly 7 years of trying to rid the acne it's returned! The doctor is looking to refer me back to the dermatoligist, only I am worried that they will be unwilling to provide treatment as for a lot of the time it probably isn't as bad.
It is not severe acne but it was starting to break out on my neck, which has never happened before. I have been on the Minocycline and washing with Lever 2000 for about 5 weeks, little improvement. Yesterday I started developing a large lump (pencil eraser size) in the middle of the front part of my neck. It is very sore and was wondering if this was just acne and what I could do to stop the pain and redness/swelling? Thanks so much~ KARA.
) It's normal, try to get a facial cleanser with an exfoliating factor to it, it will diminish the dead skin cells that can irritate acne more. Ever since I bought an St. Ive's apricot scrub at Wal-Mart, my acne has decreased, not gone away, but lessened some. Keep the questions coming, it's the only way you'll find out.
A LOT.... I went from having perfectly clear skin to almost rash like bumps on my forehead, and painful cyst like zits on my chin line... even my neck has started to break out.... I have topical solution from the dermatologist but it doesn't seem to be helping. Does anyone know of a way to treat acne that is brought on my medication?
Hi, I have a small, pea size bump located on my neck and was wondering if it is a epidermoid cyst? It doesn't hurt or anything like that and I do have acne prone skin.

Well it really is working. It does not get rid of the big cyst type acne but it is keeping his face clear of regular acne blemishes. Its important to use it everyday to keep the alkaline ph level but I really think the ACV is great.
No significant allergies to speak of. However, the acne is still there and bothersome as well as the itchy neck. Any ideas?? Could the two be related at all due to my hormones?? I am paranoid about having lymphoma since while i was scratching and feeling around my neck found an enlarged lymph node (which is moveable and soft) am seeing my internist next week. No other symptoms though than that. Is itching with lymphoma more generalized to the whole body or in one location like mine.
I have had cycle like symptoms with bad joint/spreading pain, fatigue, night sweats, acne, cysts on face and neck. I started with the joint pain going to physical therapists and they kept telling me I need to work out. But the issues were on my left hip, left leg, left heal. Since then, they moved to my hand, neck, jaw and eye. I began with my ob looking at the estrogen/progesterone and Thyroid. Nothing showed abnormal except for a low T3 which got me to an Endo doc.
As I'm writing this I have a hard golf ball sized cyst on my neck that's slightly above and to the side of my adam's apple. I also have a few (3 or 4) smaller but still hard and visible cysts on the back of my neck just at the base of my hair line and one small one on my upper back. Again, the ones on the front of my neck tend to grow very large in size.
I have had 7 cyst one under my neck at 8 my mom had no idea what it was and it grew and turned purple it got as big as half a lemon, was surgically removed. At 17 I got one under my ear and also had it surgically removed still little size if small marble. At 18 I got two next to each other on thigh my private area was scared but since I worked in a health food store and the owner always said that doctors always want to cut and that that was wrong that natural products are enough...
I am a 27 y/o female and have had abnormal hair growth on my stomach and chin area the past few years. Also I have suffered from many pimples/acne on my face and other areas Are these related to some hormonal imbalance and what can be done about them?? One other thing is that for around 5 or so years now I have had large pimple like growths under my arms that eventually burst containing a puss like substance and blood. After they have healed they leave scarring.
The chances of this being cancerous at your age are really small. It's probably an acne cyst. These take months to go away, even after antibiotic therapy, especially if you play with or squeeze them. I suggest you forget about this for 3 months and leave it alone. If it gets bigger or persists at three months, show it to the doctor again. But I doubt any treatment will be needed. Best. Dr.
I am a relatively healthy 25 year old female. I have had acne since I was maybe 12 or 13. Extremely sensitive skin- adverse reactions to salicylic acid and anything higher than a 2% benzoyl peroxide. Have tried differin, retin-a, duac, also natural solutions such as tea tree oil, lemon, honey, coconut, eggs, yogurt, witch hazel. Also have tried systems such as proactiv and muriad to no avail.
My 12 year old daughter found a small lump at the back of her neck today (right side just above the hair line). I am concerned about this and would like to seek your medical overview about this matter. Thank you.
i was looking for my pimple like symtoms explaination online and the closest thing is that it is a macule-red spots left by a healed acne lesion which is flat, red ot pink with well defined border and the other one is cyst- think lumps beneth surface of skin formed by secretion deep within hair follicles i found that the home remedy is to use sulphur and i was wondering how would you apply the suphur to it they are only at the back of neck and upper back.. help!
I have no pain in the nodes themselves but have developed pain in the neck which seems like a stiff neck, and pain exists with any pressure from straining or lifting, also movement related pain in neck, chest and spine in the same region. No signs of infection at all, but do have extreme fatigue, back pain, some weight loss, among other varied symptoms. My Primary Dr said since no other enlarged nodes were found in other regions, he is not concerned about lymphoma.
I spent the last week in the hospital and doctors found all teswt (CT, MRA, MRI and bloodwork) to be normal. I have neck pain, vision and hearing problems, dizziness, numbness and tigling in the left side. I went to my PC and he said they did see a cyst in my sinus cavity. I knew it was there because of prior scans, but was told it was not a big deal. He said I sould see an ENT. I did last year and was told to use nose sprays to dry it up which did not work.
What happens is I'll first feel a bump or two on my face or neck. They're under-the-skin, non-itchy, painless, skin-colored bumps that swell when I touch (or, guilty, pick!) them and also begin to spread to a cluster. I don't think they're pimples - from what I know, cysts are painful and movable, which these are neither of. They also never come to the surface and I don't think they're puss filled.

If the pimple like thing does not hurt and if you have more of these on the body, neck, face etc, then it could be acne (especially if you are a teenager). The other possibility is an in-growing hair. It can also be a hair follicle (root) infection called folliculitis. Initially it will not pain. A pimple like swelling can also be a blocked sebaceous gland or a hair follicle cyst. If it is not troubling you then please leave it as it is.
I've have a pimple like knot on my neck for 2 years. It never forms a white head its a hard knot a little smaller than a pea. My wife squeeses it about once a month and the fluid smells. It never has went away for the past two years. What is it?
more info. please..... where is the cyst? how big/small is the cyst? how do you know it is indeed a cyst? unless you place a HOT cloth on it (often) to draw out the pus, there is nothing you can do at home.
I can remember getting one or two cysts along my jaw line or down my neck once or twice a year. I would go see the doctor and he would inject them, and they would go away. Things have gotten a lot worse. Over the last several months I will have 3-6 cysts at once. They pop up, last for a week or two and them calm back down to a smooth scar tissue. However, these cysts tend to come back in the same places. These scars have pretty much ruined my beard.
I have been dealing with acne since I have been 13 years old and am now almost 30. A few years ago I developed a cyst on forehead which lasted for about a year (on and off); it was treated with injections by a dermatologist which basically dried it up. I really haven't had any problems with cyst since then, the only problems I have had is with acne (white heads, black heads and zits).
