Avatar m tn Hello, Fusidic acid and minocycline are both antibiotics which are used for the treatment of acne. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.

Avatar m tn ve read various reviews on using hydrocortisone cream for the face with people stating it thins out your skin and worsens acne symptoms. I feel the Clindamycin is acceptable, but I am wondering if it is safe to use the hydrocortisone cream or if I should substitute it with desonide OR just skip those two ointments altogether? I don't mind using Differin by itself if it comes down to it.

Avatar m tn A couple years ago I was put on a cream that noticeably decreased and practically eradicated the acne I had. The cream contained adapelene, however, it was eventually taken off my insurance and became far too expensive. I used this cream in the winter, and as such I never had to worry about the risk of sun exposure with it. Recently I was told that Differin became over the counter, and worked well for acne. I didn't really know what was in it at the time, but it worked phenomenally!
