acne

Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis (in December 2007) and have recently be suffering with acne on my face (chin/ mouth area). I have been given Acuatim cream to use twice a day, and have been told that I should take oral antibiotics if the cream doesn`t work. Every acne antibiotic I review on the neet suggests that they can cause coltis (pseudomembranous?), so I am concernd as to what oral medication I can take? Any other colitis sufferers out there taking oral acne treatment?
Avatar n tn What products can I buy to treat my sons acne and would he just need a cream or cleanser as well. He was prescribed Erythromycin by his GP but this hasnt helped.
Avatar n tn thank you so much for responding. i was given this monocyline Hcl 100mg with cream which has this oleanolic acid formula.is this cream for acne scars or acne?or for both?i have been using both tablet and cream for 20 days.i didn't see much of the change in fadeness of scars or maybe it takes time.please let me know what is this cream exactly for.
Avatar m tn The best way to treat this is with a course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline to kill acne-causing bacteria. In addition use a topical retinoid cream called Differin (adapalene) which is very good at clearing up the redness and soreness. Use a bland, soap-free cleanser to minimise irritation. I recommend Effaclar or Physiological Cleansing Gel by La Roche-Posay. Find a more sympathetic doctor. If untreated, acne can cause physical and psychological scars.
Avatar n tn Hi, You seem to be having acne on the face. The acne is term which is used generally by doctors and patients. However, the development of the acne takes place by infection of a oil gland on the face. the oil glands on the face occur in a "T" shape and they get infected by the common skin bacteria causing acne. The treatment for acne includes maintaining face hygiene, preventing dust accumulation, treatment of dandruff, as well as using drugs to help the acne heal.
Avatar m tn ve read various reviews on using hydrocortisone cream for the face with people stating it thins out your skin and worsens acne symptoms. I feel the Clindamycin is acceptable, but I am wondering if it is safe to use the hydrocortisone cream or if I should substitute it with desonide OR just skip those two ointments altogether? I don't mind using Differin by itself if it comes down to it.
Avatar f tn isotretinoin also known as Accutane, can be prescribed by a doctor, or contraceptive pills with cyproterone for females with virilization or drospirenone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acne_vulgaris#Treatments Let us know about how you are doing and what your doctor advises. Avatar f tn Anyone having issues with acne during pregnancy? I already had acne but now it has tripled. I get pimples out of no where. I ready benzoyl peroxide isn't good to use but that's what I'm using. What products are ladies using?
Avatar n tn I suggest you apply some aloe vera to your acne to soothe it. I also suggest that you stay away from physical scrubs as they can make acne worse by spreading bacteria as well as further irritating the affected skin. There is a cream out there called, Effaclar Duo, it works very well, without drying the skin out.
Avatar f tn I regularly see a dermatologist for my acne and am currently taking my second course of accutane (I am in my second week on 40mg of Amnesteem). When I saw my dermatologist 2 weeks ago to get my accutane prescription I asked her about the dryness around my nose that had been there nearly a month and would not go away despite my cetaphyl and aquafor moisturizing attempts.
Avatar f tn all over my face cheeks and chest...Is there anything can I do to remove it or reduce it other than medications or acne cream because my doctor did not advise me to apply any acne cream during this trimister..but it bothers me alot..
Avatar f tn I have never had acne my whole Life! Now that im pregnant iv had horrible acne. It started from the very beginning, and im 17 weeks!! What do can I do?
Avatar n tn You may wish to repost this in the Dermatology Forum as this is not acne. The best over-the-counter cream I have found for hands is Elizabeth Arden 8 hour hand cream. If it does not improve, your doctor can prescribe a steroid cream. Vitamins A,C and E are good for skin as is zinc.
Avatar m tn Bactoban is an antibiotic cream, but I do not know if that would be the right cream for you. As you have red areas and postules, it may be an allergy of some sort, or Rosacea. Rosex is a metronizadole cream helped my Rosacea. I was getting sore red skin with spots. Importantly, the skin complaint need to be identified as to exactly what it is. I can see you suffer from acne, but sometimes you can get a diiffernt skin complaint as well.
1670004 tn?1333864841 is it a cream?? If so i used a cream through my 1st trimester when my acne was bad.
Avatar n tn azelaic acid 20% cream; salicylic acid 1–2% cream or gel; alpha hydroxy acid preparation; trichloroacetic acid 10–20% peel. You can visit a Dermatologist as to which treatment is suitable for you. Keep me informed if you have any queries. Bye.
Avatar f tn No cortisone cream is for like itchy irritated skin. It helps sooth and heal it. My I do use apricot scrub for my acne it helps. And put a good lotion on after. If you have acne all over your body you could buy a bar soap that has benzoyl peroxide in it. And wash you body with it. It kind of dries your skin out so you want to make sure you have some good lotion.
