Aciphex joint pain

Common Questions and Answers about Aciphex joint pain

aciphex

Avatar n tn My husband is taking Aciphex for reflux, yet he continues to have stomach pain, not hearburn. He has recently had an upper GI and nothing was found. Nothing he takes orally helps the pain. What should he do if the specialist can't find his problem.
Avatar n tn Hello all I am so overwhelmed with GERD! Currently I am on Nexium twice a day plus Maalox and still have symtpoms. My throat and nose are burning. My stomach is upset and can't seem to eat anything! I have been reflux problems for about 4 years now and it has NEVER been this bad. Sometimes food seems to be stuck in my throat/chest. On top of all theses symptoms I am extremely tired and have joint pain.
Avatar f tn under my rib cage is hurting, tender to touch, feels hard and the pain is radiating towards my back.. with sharp intermittent pains in the lower back and flank... severe nausea, but no vomiting... yet... freaking me out! help!
Avatar f tn My husband was originally on Aciphex, but placed on Nexium after our insurance stopped covering aciphex and he was miserable. Aciphex has always worked so much better for him. Finally, after a year of misery he's back on aciphex and so much happier. I hope it works as well for you.
Avatar f tn In the past two weeks I have had something going on that I'm not quite sure what it is. It starts with a swirling in my sternum area which turns into a twisting type cramping. This leads to headaches, dizziness, fevers that go up and down and acid (I'm on 20 mg aciphex - 2 x daily) that races up my throat due to vomiting that causes my throat to swell. It is something that comes and goes.
Avatar n tn Hello. I was diagnosed with GERD several months ago, and lived with almost daily pain (no meds were really working) until about 2 months ago, when I started Nexium. I was blissfully almost with any symptoms for about 6 weeks, even if I ate common reflux triggers, but now I'm experiencing pain again. Can Nexium just stop working like that? I should add that my diagnosis came after basic blood tests, an endoscopy, an ultrasound to check my gallbladder and a CT scan of my abdomen.
Avatar m tn Which, incidentally, stopped when I stopped taking the aciphex. Shortly after taking the aciphex I started experiencing symptoms of GERD. I still have the GERD to this day - some days its worse than others. I connect a straight line between the taking of aciphex and the development of GERD. Is this a reasonable conclusion? or is there some other more likely explanation?
Avatar n tn Once the bacteria has been eradicated the stomach is still producing extra acid therefore one should continue taking acid reducing medication for some time. I made a hugh mistake and stopped use of the PPI(in my case Aciphex) immeidately after taking the last antibiotic for H. Pylori. I am now back on Aciphex and my Water Brash symptoms have diminshed greatly.
Avatar n tn One of the most common varieties of harmless chest pain is chest wall pain. One kind of chest wall pain is costochondritis. It consists of pain and tenderness in and around the cartilage that connects your ribs to your breastbone (sternum). Often, placing pressure over a few points along the margin of the sternum results in considerable tenderness limited to those small areas.
Avatar f tn pylori bacteria in the digestive tract. The irony is, if you have ulcers and take Aciphex alone, the Aciphex could make the symptoms worse. Clearly something changed after taking the antibiotics, and now your ally in heartburn control has become your enemy. It might be worth getting back to your physician on this one, since antibiotics can often be a "swinging door", killing some bacteria while making it easier for other bacteria to get through that otherwise wouldn't have.
Avatar n tn Since then I am taking Acid suppressants such as Nexium and Aciphex as prescribed by my doctor. I also underwent Endoscopy and Biopsy, Abdominal Ultrasound, X-Ray and Blood test . All the tests came normal except they found H-Pilory infection and I took antibiotics and subsequent Stool test for H-Pilory showed negative. I am still having all the above discomforts which is going on for 5 months. I normally eat very healthy and I am following a strict diet since this problem started.
Avatar n tn Has anyone tried Zegerid? So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me. I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?).
Avatar f tn Before she even went to the hospital she was being seen by a GI dr in California that ran some exams on her one being an endoscopy and got the same result as from the hospital, but this Dr from california put her on Aciphex which in my opinion made her even worse. The Dr. in Arizona Aciphex should be working. My wife has been taking Aciphex for 1yr and a half and it was not doing anything for her, if anything her condition was getting worse.
Avatar f tn The heartburn got frequent and severe enough to seek medical attention . They put me on aciphex and did a gastoscopy , finding just an irritated stomach lining . Ever since then I have had nothing but tons of epigastric pain and into my back . They switched me to protonix 40mg twice a day but I have minimal relief . Also had my gallbladder removed about 4 yrs ago . Any ideas ? Please Help !!!
Avatar m tn told no I am not fine, one area no concern, other area metaplasia, was I still taking the Aciphex. I have gone back on the Aciphex but am terrified after reading on websites that I did the wrong thing. Endoscopy only done originally because I had still unexplained/diagnosis following three days of diarrhea, cramping, dehydration. On antibiotiic, H pylori ruled out. History of GERD, hiatal hernia. Control symptoms with diet, OTC Gaviscon.
Avatar n tn I have been on Aciphex 20 since 2007, with instant results. After changing Health Ins. , I am told by the current insurer that they won't cover Aciphex. I must go thru a step program, starting with Nexium, which my Doctor dosed at 40 mg instead of 20 mg, saying Nexium didn't come in 20 and the 40mg of Nexium is comparable to the 20 mg Aciphex . Questions: (1) Is the above true? (2) Are the side effects the same, and (3) What's the difference between the two.
Avatar f tn I've taken Aciphex for over 10 years for extreme GERD. Since all the new studues came out about it being so bad long term, I decided to try and get off it. I'm down from 20mg a day to 20mg every 3-4 days. I've weaned over the last 2 months, had horrible rebound and can't get passed this stage. I have bad stomach pains, diarrhea, nausea. I'm supplementing with Tums currently. Any helpful advice is appreciated. I'm ready to give up.
Avatar f tn have found out that I have Gastritis, which I am currently taking Aciphex for treatment. Seems The Aciphex has helped w/ the heartburn and related symtoms. Except this RIB Pain is Constant and have had 2 horrible attacks where I thought my Ribcage on R/side was going to crack. I Lay on the heating pad for about 45 minutes and it subsides or until I can get in a comfortable position. But yet I still experience sharp stabbing pains and sometimes I feel a fluttering right below the ribcage.
Avatar f tn I have for the past 10 years been on Aciphex 20mg for to much acid in my stomache, I was at 4 times the normal amount but now I have about 7 times to normal amount I have been taking 2 aciphex pills in the am and 1 in the evening. When I had my last scope I also had alot of irritation and alot of stomache polyps. I have latlely been having alot of diarreha about 2 hours after I eat and I'm generally not feeling well.
Avatar n tn t afford AciPhex, the discomfort is constant, the pain occurs frequently enough that I have trouble falling asleep, etc. I just figure if there's a surgical procedure {maybe performed like an esophagogastroduodenoscopy PLUS}, THAT might be more sensible than the rest of my life on AciPhex or whatever the next new drug is .........................
Avatar m tn Who has had an endoscophy prior, during or post treatment? What was the reason for the endoscophy -- normal pre-tx procedure, suspected cirrhosis, GERD, etc. Also, for those that had the procedure, did anyone get a diagnosis of Barrett's Esophagus? If so, were PPI's (Nexium, Aciphex, etc) recommended? ---------- In my case I had an endoscophy during treatment for signficant GERD (chronic reflux). It showed a short form of Barrett's. Same with endoscophy post treatment..
193988 tn?1215023883 hi, yes its quite natural to experience refluxwithout pain, its basically acid thats been neutralised in the stomach before coming back up the oesaphagus.
Avatar n tn Ten years ago my gall bladder (and a large stone) was removed. Since then, however, at least twice a year I have an excruciating attack of the same symptoms that had manifested prior to the operation. (The first began just 6 weeks after the operation, and I'd hardly eaten a thing.) I made radical changes to my diet, avoiding fatty and junk foods, and when I stick to that I have no problem.
Avatar f tn In Feb. 09 I had an endoscopy for pain while swallowing. I was diagnosed with mild esophagitis caused by GERD. I was put on Aciphex. I was also diagnosed with hiatal hernia during endoscopy. I already knew I had one because an upper GI series 6 years ago detected it. Even so, the doctor who performed the endoscopy, sent me to get another more current upper GI series.
Avatar m tn had mylanta and prilosec and the situation got improved.. doctor recommended aciphex and currently i am on that.. situation seems to get better but at times, the condition that I have something stuck in throat and a little difficulty to swallow flares up. Got a sore throat a couple of days back. but now it is better. feeling weak and has muscle pains occasionally.. any ideas? should i expect improvement only after a while? currently i am on the 15th day of taking aciphex...
Avatar n tn He recommended I go back on Aciphex or another PPI and to take Benadryl. This seems to make sense. I asked my GI about my hypersalivation problem but he did not know what the cause could be. After the Endoscopy and the H. Pylori visit, the GI doesn't wanted to be bothered. Anyone else have a similar experience?
