pylori bacteria in the digestive tract. The irony is, if you have ulcers and take Aciphex alone, the Aciphex could make the symptoms worse. Clearly something changed after taking the antibiotics, and now your ally in heartburn control has become your enemy. It might be worth getting back to your physician on this one, since antibiotics can often be a "swinging door", killing some bacteria while making it easier for other bacteria to get through that otherwise wouldn't have.

Has anyone tried Zegerid? So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me. I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?).

of course, I immediately quit after the heartburn came back. I took the Aciphex again for about 9 days until I went to an appointment with a specialist, but the symptoms did not go away during that time, as I felt a mix of heartburn and esophagus pain. He ordered an endoscopy and I continued with a stronger prescription (one Nexium pill and one Zantac pill per day) until the endoscopy appointment 19 days later, but I was not sticking to the medication everyday.

I have not been one to have heartburn, so I thought I was having a heartattack. I was put on Aciphex. It has worked.

Five weeks ago I had 18 inches of my sigmoid colon removed by laparoscopically due to repeated bouts of diverticulitis. Four weeks post op I came down with a severe case of heartburn. Since I was still not eating "normal" foods I was totally surprised at the severity of heartburn. Prior to the resection I have never had GERD/Acid Reflux/hearburn. I called my surgeon who referred me back to my GI doctor.

Anyone here have bad reflux without heartburn? If so i like to know about your symptoms and if you can eat certain things people with acid reflux that get heartburn cant?

i'm 20 years old and I've been sick for 2 weeks, started out with nausea and vomiting, now cough and cold, but the past few mornings i've been waking up with bad heartburn. can someone please help me figure out what this is..

ve decided to try to handle my acid reflux by eating more easy to digest foods, staying off fried foods and adding lots more green vegetables and celery to my diet to alkalize my body (as well as taking Aciphex). I usually have yogurt and a green drink in the morning. I added whey protein to the mix today and now my heartburn is back. Whey is supposed to be super easy to digest. Has anyone else had problems with whey protein?

I was told not to mix Heartburn med with the synthroid. To wait 4 hour after taking the synthroid to take any acid reducers. What about pain relievers? I must have slept wrong last night. I can't move my neck and shoulder without severe pain. Do I have to wait 4 hours to take anything?

It started with heartburn about a year ago . The heartburn got frequent and severe enough to seek medical attention . They put me on aciphex and did a gastoscopy , finding just an irritated stomach lining . Ever since then I have had nothing but tons of epigastric pain and into my back . They switched me to protonix 40mg twice a day but I have minimal relief . Also had my gallbladder removed about 4 yrs ago . Any ideas ? Please Help !!!

ve tried so many remedies for heartburn (including Aciphex, Nexium, Zantac, Betaine HCL, baking soda, Pepto Bismol) that don't work. I'm curious if it isn't heartburn at all. Are there any other diseases/conditions that can cause extreme burning/gripping/tight sensations in that area? Thanks a lot in advance for any responses.

is the Prednisone,Zithromax, Acyclovir [for cold sores] and Clindamycin ones causing me to have this Acid Reflux? Will Aciphex cure or need surgery.....

Stupidly I had chicken parm, bruchetta and ziti last night, finishing it off with apple pie and ice cream. While it was yummy in the tummy, it wasn't for long. I woke up around midnight with the worst heartburn. I didn't have anything but TUMS and I ended up taking around 12 of those over the course of the night and still suffered! I know we're not supposed to take antiacids like tums because of their reaction with Ribavirin, but I had to take something.

I was recently diagnosed with a lazy gallbladder. My doctor's suggested taking it out, although I don't (yet) have stones. (Gallbladder issues run in my family.) I was also diagnosed with GERD and LPRD. I've been treating it with PPI's and while most of the heartburn and stomach pain is gone, the pain in the throat and the clicking have gotten worse.

ve had chest pain, difficulty breathing, incredible stomach bloating/distention (even after just drinking a glass of water), burping, reflux, and heartburn. I started taking 25 mgs. of synthroid on Sept. 4th, and right away I've had relieve from a lot of my symptoms, including indigestion & heartburn. Probably is the placebo effect. Either way I'm still symptom free except for the heartburn, that's actually worse than before taking synthroid. I am having it all day. Therefore, I'm not sure if the synthroid is the cause or if it may be caused from me drinking my morning coffee without taking the protonix.

You are right that you just want to die, the pain is so bad. Mine is accompanied by heartburn also, sometimes a few days before I will get an attack. They have done practically every test on me also, but what is an HIDA scan? I have had extensive blood work done and many colonoscopys, only one showing anything and that was ischemic colitis, but the next one I had they said it was no longer there. I do take aciphex once a day, which does help I suppose, but I still have some heartburn.

I was diagnosed with GERD because I have heartburn and I often regurgitate. However, for the past month I have felt like something is stuck in my throat and I am getting nausea every single night. Which, incidentally, stopped when I stopped taking the aciphex. Shortly after taking the aciphex I started experiencing symptoms of GERD. I still have the GERD to this day - some days its worse than others. I connect a straight line between the taking of aciphex and the development of GERD. I have had this ongoing sensation of wanting to cough combined with an irritative feeling in my throat for about four months. Occasionally the irritated feeling locates below my throat in my windpipe, with some discomfort. Feelings vary in intensity day to day from very mild to rather strong. I do not have any problems with my breathing, or any pain or heartburn, but get occasional "queezy" feelings in my stomach that last for 15-20 minutes.

have found out that I have Gastritis, which I am currently taking Aciphex for treatment. Seems The Aciphex has helped w/ the heartburn and related symtoms. Except this RIB Pain is Constant and have had 2 horrible attacks where I thought my Ribcage on R/side was going to crack. I Lay on the heating pad for about 45 minutes and it subsides or until I can get in a comfortable position. But yet I still experience sharp stabbing pains and sometimes I feel a fluttering right below the ribcage.

It worked for a while, about 6 months, and now does not work at all. I have been prescribed 2 Aciphex and 2 Zantac tablets a day. This is more medication than what I was taking before the surgery. Has anyone had a similiar experience with this surgery? Does anyone know any other solutions to this problem? I would like to add that I have had my gall bladder removed. This was done prior to the Nissan. I now experience a lot of indigestiion, heart burn, and gas and bloating.

I am a 48 year old woman who was diagnosed with GERD two or three years ago via endoscopy. I was placed on Aciphex. I have not been good about following directions for acid reflux (I am a heavy coffee drinker and beer drinker) and have not religiously taken the medication. About a month ago I begin having the lump in my throat back (that's what made me go to doc in first place) and difficulty swallowing.

In addition, belching, dry cough, heartburn especially at night and difficulty breathing. I went to the doctor and he diagnosed me with GERD. I have been taking 2000mg of vitamin c everyday for several months. Could have this contributed to the high acidity level in my stomach leading to GERD?

Since then I am taking Acid suppressants such as Nexium and Aciphex as prescribed by my doctor. I also underwent Endoscopy and Biopsy, Abdominal Ultrasound, X-Ray and Blood test . All the tests came normal except they found H-Pilory infection and I took antibiotics and subsequent Stool test for H-Pilory showed negative. I am still having all the above discomforts which is going on for 5 months. I normally eat very healthy and I am following a strict diet since this problem started.
