Aciphex h pylori

Common Questions and Answers about Aciphex h pylori

aciphex

Avatar n tn I stopped taking Acihpex about a month ago because I concluded the two week Triple Therapy for H. Pylori(I am now negative for H. Pylori). Also, I have not had heartburn for over two months. I have suffered from Hypersalivation for about three months. I went to a ENT today and he did a VideoStroboscope on my throat. He feels my saliva is rather bubbly and the cause is possibly related to acid reflux. He recommended I go back on Aciphex or another PPI and to take Benadryl.
Avatar f tn This is an interesting dilemma, because Amoxicillin and Aciphex are sometimes used together to treat certain types of recurrent stomach ulcers associated with the H. pylori bacteria in the digestive tract. The irony is, if you have ulcers and take Aciphex alone, the Aciphex could make the symptoms worse. Clearly something changed after taking the antibiotics, and now your ally in heartburn control has become your enemy.
Avatar n tn Pylori but after the bacteria was eradicated I developed Water Brash(saliva bubbling up in your mouth). The GI said the H. Pylori thrives in an acid environment. The presence of the H. Pylori bacteria in your stomach causes the production of more acid. Once the bacteria has been eradicated the stomach is still producing extra acid therefore one should continue taking acid reducing medication for some time.
Avatar f tn Since August of 2010 I've had chest pain, difficulty breathing, incredible stomach bloating/distention (even after just drinking a glass of water), burping, reflux, and heartburn. My main concern is the bloating and difficulty breathing. I can barely function on a day to day basis. I eat little bites all day long because I can't eat a full meal or I start hyperventilating. I have had an EGD which showed a polyp (was removed) and some mild esophagitis. I don't have H.
Avatar m tn Endoscopy only done originally because I had still unexplained/diagnosis following three days of diarrhea, cramping, dehydration. On antibiotiic, H pylori ruled out. History of GERD, hiatal hernia. Control symptoms with diet, OTC Gaviscon. I wish gastroenterologist Physicians Assistant had told me what the inflammation was, reason for Aciphex. Nothing I can do now - - I should have ASKED if o.k. to discontinue. Can you give me facts about what I have done with discontinuing.
Avatar m tn chest xrays (normal), ekg, cbc, liver and pancreas enzyme blood tests (all normal), upper gi series (showed some thickening of rugal folds), upper endoscopy with biopsy (mild gastritis and gerd, negative on celiac and h pylori), gallbladder ultrasound (normal), ct scan of abdomen and pelvis with contrast (normal), and colonoscopy (normal). I am scheduled to have a hida scan with cck this week.

Avatar n tn Described symptoms are definitevely GERD. Now, the bitter taste in the mouth suggests gallbladder disorder with biliary reflux. If the gallblader itself is OK, it still may be biliary ducts (biliary dyskinesia or sphincter of Oddi dysfunction). There are gross differences in diagnosis of stomach condition. Hiatal hernia may come and go, as hernia can slips up and down, so " now you can see it now you don't".

1711242 tn?1308266891 Had a few questions about my symptoms, I've had acid refulx since i was 17 now im 27, never really took it serious till it started affecting my breathing.. then started having digestive issues with it like burning at first then severe stomach pain from taking antibiotics it rip my stomach to pieces, everything i ate i felt so much pain no matter what it was... i don't have H pylori. i was diagnosed with acid reflux gastritis and hital hernia..
Avatar n tn - is this burping? Burping is from the gas, produced by bacteria (usually H. pylori). H. pylori is the most common cause of gastritis, and ulcer, as it was probably in your case. Omeprazole, you're taking blocks secretion of acid, but does nothing to H. pylori. I believe that mild H. pylori infection could be unrecognised on endoscopy. So, I recommend breath test for H. pylori (but NOT blood test, which can't distinguish between old and new infection). To continue...if H.

Avatar n tn My GI explained to me because the H. Pylori bacteria was eradicated by antibiotics and Aciphex my stomach is now in a hyper acidic state and this is causing the water brash. Has anyone heard of this as a reason for water brash. I have read water brash is caused because of "minor" acid reflux. This means a small of acid backs up into the esophagus and the salivary glands as a defensive measure produces excess saliva and in some cases the sinuses produce mucos?
Avatar n tn All the tests came normal except they found H-Pilory infection and I took antibiotics and subsequent Stool test for H-Pilory showed negative. I am still having all the above discomforts which is going on for 5 months. I normally eat very healthy and I am following a strict diet since this problem started. My Gastorentologist asked me to continue to take Aciphex.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if you've had a blood test for h. pylori. My doctor rubber-stamped me with GERD. The blood test for h. pylori came back neg. but I still had the symptoms ie. painfull stomach and small intestine, and acid reflux. Now I am on antiboitics and feel much better. Could be you have the same thing. I don't think anyone should suffer with gerd.
1969859 tn?1325813286 does n e body have h pylori seems like i am the only one who has it i herd it can cause chest pains n e one know if its true??
Avatar n tn If you've have black tarry stools and anemia and positive for H. Pylori, should you always be treated with antibiotics or are there are other treatment options?. Are there any situations where antibiotics are not used but you are positive of H. pylori? Avatar m tn Hello Everyone, I am 38 years old, I have been suffering from the IBS for few years now, but I was able to manage the symptoms so far, until last year when I started feeling heartburn, after consulting with an internist I was diagnosed positive for H Pylori(UBT Test), the doctor advised to treat it using triple therapy(Pantazol 40mg, Ospamox 1000mg, Avalox 400mg) for seven days, I managed to take it only for 4 days, then I agreed with the doctor to stop it because I was having very strong side e
Avatar f tn Today I finished my 2 week treatment for h pylori. But I'm still having some stomac pain as well alot of stomach gurgling. Does that mean that I still have h pylori and the antibiotics didn't work?
Avatar m tn Could it be the case that might just have some form of Irritable bowel syndrome rather than h pylori, its only that initial occassion when my vomit was darkish that suggests that its h pylori, and maybe it could have been something else other then blood in my vomit. Would i be seeing tarry stools or vomit more often in other words if it was h pyleri!!
Avatar f tn There are various combinations, the idea being to simultaneously attack three different methods of replication, because the cells mutate. There is more than one variety of H. Pylori. The bacteria exists on raw chicken sometimes and you can get reinfected. Wash and cook chicken thoroughly and sterilize all cutting boards. There are arguments pro and con administering acid reducing medications. The "pro" is that they inhibit replication.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with H-Pylori a month ago. I took Biaxin, Amoxicillin and now Carafate, I feel no relief at all. How long does this last?
Avatar f tn I had h pylori a few years back which caused severe indigestion, the h pylori was eradicated with antibiotics and I started feeling better, anyway, today while I was on a train some old guy sneezed in to my hand it was so gross!
