Pepto-Bismol can help in gastritis or gastric ulcus; it covers the mucosa and protect it this way a liitle. I guess your doctor examined your kidneys today, so you can tell about the findings.

The GE did an endoscopy and said I had GERD and gastritis. He prescribed Aciphex, and did blood work and sent for a biopsy -- neither turned up anything unexpected. I told him about the blood and my colon cancer fear; he didn't suspect colon cancer and said blood was probably a hemorrhoid -- which we could follow up on it after adressing the GERD and gastritis.
Now, acidy feeling is gone and appetitie is fine. The problem is abdominal discomfort/cramping.

have found out that I have Gastritis, which I am currently taking Aciphex for treatment. Seems The Aciphex has helped w/ the heartburn and related symtoms. Except this RIB Pain is Constant and have had 2 horrible attacks where I thought my Ribcage on R/side was going to crack. I Lay on the heating pad for about 45 minutes and it subsides or until I can get in a comfortable position. But yet I still experience sharp stabbing pains and sometimes I feel a fluttering right below the ribcage.
I tried aciphex, which worked great for about 6 months, then stopped working. I switched to taking tums multiple times a day, which worked for a couple months and then stopped. I tried Kapidex which also worked perfectly for about 3 months and then completely stopped working. Zantac worked for about a month and is now subsiding. My doctor has added carafate, but the pains are still not gone. They usually come when I haven't eaten for a while and let myself get hungry at all.

The heartburn got frequent and severe enough to seek medical attention . They put me on aciphex and did a gastoscopy , finding just an irritated stomach lining . Ever since then I have had nothing but tons of epigastric pain and into my back . They switched me to protonix 40mg twice a day but I have minimal relief . Also had my gallbladder removed about 4 yrs ago . Any ideas ? Please Help !!!

ve had problems with abdominal pain, fatigue, cramping, diarrhea, on and off for 15 years, often it will get really bad for 4-8 weeks, then get to be less of a problem. There are other times that I get constipated, especially without enough fiber.
Had a colonoscopy recently, results showed I have a severely spastic redundant sigmoid and descending colon. My doc took some biopsies and the results came back, just said "negative".
I am a 24yr old female who has been experiencing severe epigastric pain for the last 4months. It started with some very uncomfortable pain right in the middle of my chest, between my breasts on the sternum. I went to my family doctor who thought two things...GERD or gallstones since i have a family history. I had an ultrasound sound which in deed some a gallstone. So in July, I had my gallbladder taken out only to feel worse.
Are you taking any beta-blockers or calcium-channel blockers for your MVP or medication for your GERD? I take atenolol for the MVP and aciphex for the GERD. Do you have arrythmias as well? I know the tachicardia can be scary and frustrating. I would let your Dr know about the pain etc. It's always good to keep them informed. Wish I could help you more I just wanted to let you know you're not alone!!!
Which, incidentally, stopped when I stopped taking the aciphex. Shortly after taking the aciphex I started experiencing symptoms of GERD. I still have the GERD to this day - some days its worse than others. I connect a straight line between the taking of aciphex and the development of GERD. Is this a reasonable conclusion? or is there some other more likely explanation?
The only thing the test found was some gastritis. He put me on Aciphex for my gastritis, which i guess helps a little. He also put me on Duotabs? it helps with stomach cramps i guess? but i'm not sure if it helps or not.. any advice on that as well? anyway, A few days later i had some nuclear medicine, including the HIDA scan. That was painful, as i'm sure a lot of you can understand. My ejection fraction was at 17%, and I was officially diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia.
Two or three years ago I was diagnosed with GERD via an endoscopy. I was put on Aciphex. I am also a heavy drinker. I have not taken the Aciphex on a regular basis because up until a month or so ago I have not had any symptoms. I am now having difficulty swallowing or at least feel like I have a lump in my throat - the constant clearing of throat, cough. I am now terrified that I have Barretts or cancer.
