You must follow the directions on the prescription or the OTC package. I don't know that medication, but you must follow the directions on the package or the directions your doctor gave you. If he said to just take it but didn't say anything more and this is OTC, follow the directions on the package. If he had other directions, call his office and get clarification of the directions over the phone.

I've taken Aciphex for over 10 years for extreme GERD. Since all the new studues came out about it being so bad long term, I decided to try and get off it. I'm down from 20mg a day to 20mg every 3-4 days. I've weaned over the last 2 months, had horrible rebound and can't get passed this stage. I have bad stomach pains, diarrhea, nausea. I'm supplementing with Tums currently. Any helpful advice is appreciated. I'm ready to give up.

I'm 16 I started my cycle at 13 I've been on the pill to help with my severe cramps and around January 2012 I had a break through period that should have not been there I went to the ob gyn and they said I was still developing and it should be fine, but it never fixed itself from then to now I've been on depo which didn't work, estradiol, and the implanon, which all have not worked. I just saw your post. I take 50 mcg's of synthroid every other day and I feel like a million bucks after doing so. I did it on my own because I felt and looked like **** when taking it everyday. I skip the medicine entirely every other day. It's a mistake to take two different doses every other day. Just stick with one dose every other day and give your body a total rest from the medicine every other day. I don't know why it works but it works.

i have a 2 yr old little girl who has been having loose stools every other day for the past few months. the frequency is normal (1-3 x's)per day but its starting to worry me. She is not weak or anything, infact she is full of energy but im starting to get a little worried.

Over the last ten days I have suddenly developed severe symptoms of GERD. I have been vomitting acid and food all day every day. I have been attempting to control this by monitoring my food and taking OTC meds. I have been unable to control this. I am even throwing up water and bread! I was diagnosed with GERD because I have heartburn and I often regurgitate. However, for the past month I have felt like something is stuck in my throat and I am getting nausea every single night. My husband was originally on Aciphex, but placed on Nexium after our insurance stopped covering aciphex and he was miserable. Aciphex has always worked so much better for him. Finally, after a year of misery he's back on aciphex and so much happier. I hope it works as well for you.

I have for the past 10 years been on Aciphex 20mg for to much acid in my stomache, I was at 4 times the normal amount but now I have about 7 times to normal amount I have been taking 2 aciphex pills in the am and 1 in the evening. When I had my last scope I also had alot of irritation and alot of stomache polyps. I have latlely been having alot of diarreha about 2 hours after I eat and I'm generally not feeling well.

my husband almost took me to the hospital due to possible dehydration. By Sunday I felt weak but better and continued to get better every day even though I still felt somewhat weak. Then Friday morning it hit again, but this time it hit hard and I spent all day Friday and Saturday vomiting til it was just bile. On Sunday I went to the ER and was re-hydrated. They took test after test and called it gastritis period. No how do I avoid this or what causes it, just gastritis.

t noticed much with the mouth but i will now be paying close attention. I have taken Prilosec, Nexium, Aciphex, and Prevacid up to twice a day at the max dosage. I recently had an eye exam but the doc just said i had dry eye and would need glasses when I hit my 50's. Not real helpful.

Clearly something changed after taking the antibiotics, and now your ally in heartburn control has become your enemy. It might be worth getting back to your physician on this one, since antibiotics can often be a "swinging door", killing some bacteria while making it easier for other bacteria to get through that otherwise wouldn't have.

She recommended 20mg of Losec daily for one month and then to attempt to taper off the medication by taking it every other day when I started to feel better (she recommended trying after 1 month). After a week on the medication I felt great, had no symptoms and decided to taper off. The first day off was fine, but the next day was terrible and my reflux returned. Since then I decided to go back on the medication daily and will try again in a month or so to taper off (lesson learned!).

Had an endoscopy - showed gerd, slight irritation of esophagus, small hiatal hernia and stomach blisters and nodules which were removed and benign. Gastro changed me to aciphex once a day and reglan at night. This was 4 days ago....eating a little better but still have some bouts with nausea....will it take time for the new meds to work? Or could something else be going on to cause this....*by the wayk, i also had an ultra sound of abdominal area - all normal.

Entecavir is very expensive in Philippines. Can I take it every other day? Or Can I split it to half?

Anyone know whether it is okay to take levothyroxine every other day? I am prescribed 75 mg for hypothyroidism, but due to insurance I decided to take levothyroxine every other day and 6 months later my blood test showed that my thyroid levels were...normal. How can this be?? In fact, I really have not felt any side effects from this decreased dosage.

I have variable pain day to day. Almost like clock work it is low one day, moderate or high the next, low, moderate until after I haven't injured myself for a while then it startst to level off. I did notice that when I took either Tylenol or Celebrex on the bad day it started to break the cycle. Any suggestions or has anyone seen this?

Is it safe to take every other day. I find that it does help my depression when I take it this way but I am not sure if it is going to cause more problems by taking it this way. Thanks in advance.

Dr says to give aciphex more time to heal damage from reflux(suspected). If pain persists then he'll do a scoping . Every time I get these pains I am shot for hours and sometimes the day. It is getting frustrating.

Has anyone tried Zegerid? So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me. I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?).

I was dx a few months back. Take advair twice a day (was taking singulair too, but it gave me a headache) & take aciphex daily for gerd. the aciphex has helped w/ the coughing some, but i still cough a good bit...sometimes to the point of dizziness. If I laugh, I cough. Any suggestions?

I was diagnosed with silent reflux on 2/6/08 and prescribed Aciphex. The ENT diagnosed the reflux through an endoscopy I think it's called...he threaded a fiber optic camera through my nostril and down my throat. He said my throat was swollen and red and that I had vocal cord nodules. I had no symptoms of GERD and went to the ENT because I had a near constant feeling of throat contriction. A previous Barrium swallow showed no GERD.

told no I am not fine, one area no concern, other area metaplasia, was I still taking the Aciphex. I have gone back on the Aciphex but am terrified after reading on websites that I did the wrong thing. Endoscopy only done originally because I had still unexplained/diagnosis following three days of diarrhea, cramping, dehydration. On antibiotiic, H pylori ruled out. History of GERD, hiatal hernia. Control symptoms with diet, OTC Gaviscon.

However, I had to give up my proton pump inhibitor completely (Dexilant changed from Aciphex changed from Prevacid). In addition, I was told that I must take Zantac OTC (150 x twice a day is ok) no closer than 10 hours before dosing with the study drugs and no sooner than 2 hours afterwards. This is according to protocol. I have heard before that some drugs interfere with the actions of other drugs. There is also another question you may ask your docs and yourself.

I pretty much spit frothy saliva every few minutes all day and all night. It is getting really bothersome.

i do have a history of ulcers and ibs and barrets esophagus. i do take aciphex and reglan. it happens every night about 2 or 3 in the morning. i feel fine during the day. consulted doctor. he felt that it may be associated with the bronchitis that i had a month ago. finished with antibiotics and no change. phenergan and zofran do not stop it either. please help!!
