Aciphex er 50mg

Common Questions and Answers about Aciphex er 50mg

aciphex

Avatar f tn My husband was originally on Aciphex, but placed on Nexium after our insurance stopped covering aciphex and he was miserable. Aciphex has always worked so much better for him. Finally, after a year of misery he's back on aciphex and so much happier. I hope it works as well for you.
Avatar f tn In the past two weeks I have had something going on that I'm not quite sure what it is. It starts with a swirling in my sternum area which turns into a twisting type cramping. This leads to headaches, dizziness, fevers that go up and down and acid (I'm on 20 mg aciphex - 2 x daily) that races up my throat due to vomiting that causes my throat to swell. It is something that comes and goes.
Avatar f tn I also noticed my heart beating faster than usual when this happened. I let the Er doctor know about what had happened two days before. They did ekg, x-ray, full blood work. Everything was normal. They told me I could be suffering from Gerd. I went home with an aciphex prescription. A week after that my chest pain was gone, but not the lightheaded feeling. I got a severe allergic reaction that landed me back in the Er.
Avatar m tn Which, incidentally, stopped when I stopped taking the aciphex. Shortly after taking the aciphex I started experiencing symptoms of GERD. I still have the GERD to this day - some days its worse than others. I connect a straight line between the taking of aciphex and the development of GERD. Is this a reasonable conclusion? or is there some other more likely explanation?
Avatar f tn pylori bacteria in the digestive tract. The irony is, if you have ulcers and take Aciphex alone, the Aciphex could make the symptoms worse. Clearly something changed after taking the antibiotics, and now your ally in heartburn control has become your enemy. It might be worth getting back to your physician on this one, since antibiotics can often be a "swinging door", killing some bacteria while making it easier for other bacteria to get through that otherwise wouldn't have.
1264863 tn?1391118193 Anyone taken Opana ER? My doctor wants to switch me from Oxy to Opana ER and I am very nervous about it. Any advice is helpful.
Avatar n tn Since then I am taking Acid suppressants such as Nexium and Aciphex as prescribed by my doctor. I also underwent Endoscopy and Biopsy, Abdominal Ultrasound, X-Ray and Blood test . All the tests came normal except they found H-Pilory infection and I took antibiotics and subsequent Stool test for H-Pilory showed negative. I am still having all the above discomforts which is going on for 5 months. I normally eat very healthy and I am following a strict diet since this problem started.
2080183 tn?1362802073 Been very dehydrated but force myself to drink even though I know I will throw it all back up. I was at the ER and they thought I had kidney stones or a kidney infection but all tests came back negative. I don't have a gallbladder so it's not thy either. I've had a endoscopy done and came to find severe esophogitis mild gastritis and a mild hyanial hernia. My GI dr put me in aciphex but it's not doing any thing yet.
Avatar n tn Has anyone tried Zegerid? So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me. I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?).
198506 tn?1251156915 I was diagnosed with silent reflux on 2/6/08 and prescribed Aciphex. The ENT diagnosed the reflux through an endoscopy I think it's called...he threaded a fiber optic camera through my nostril and down my throat. He said my throat was swollen and red and that I had vocal cord nodules. I had no symptoms of GERD and went to the ENT because I had a near constant feeling of throat contriction. A previous Barrium swallow showed no GERD.
Avatar m tn told no I am not fine, one area no concern, other area metaplasia, was I still taking the Aciphex. I have gone back on the Aciphex but am terrified after reading on websites that I did the wrong thing. Endoscopy only done originally because I had still unexplained/diagnosis following three days of diarrhea, cramping, dehydration. On antibiotiic, H pylori ruled out. History of GERD, hiatal hernia. Control symptoms with diet, OTC Gaviscon.
Avatar n tn I t is always burining senstation and pain on right or left side if walk to talk for long time Recently I admite to ER and they have run many tests and said I did not have any any heart attack and pain is related to GERD( i have gerd for long time and tak medication aciphex). asked me to see family physician. Avatar n tn I have been on Aciphex 20 since 2007, with instant results. After changing Health Ins. , I am told by the current insurer that they won't cover Aciphex. I must go thru a step program, starting with Nexium, which my Doctor dosed at 40 mg instead of 20 mg, saying Nexium didn't come in 20 and the 40mg of Nexium is comparable to the 20 mg Aciphex . Questions: (1) Is the above true? (2) Are the side effects the same, and (3) What's the difference between the two.
Avatar f tn I've taken Aciphex for over 10 years for extreme GERD. Since all the new studues came out about it being so bad long term, I decided to try and get off it. I'm down from 20mg a day to 20mg every 3-4 days. I've weaned over the last 2 months, had horrible rebound and can't get passed this stage. I have bad stomach pains, diarrhea, nausea. I'm supplementing with Tums currently. Any helpful advice is appreciated. I'm ready to give up.

When I had my last scope I also had alot of irritation and alot of stomache polyps. I have latlely been having alot of diarreha about 2 hours after I eat and I'm generally not feeling well.
Avatar m tn I have been on Zoloft 25mg (taking half of a 50mg pill) for 6 days as of yesterday. My doctor told me to up the dose to a whole pill (50mg) daily after a week of being at 25mg. I did that last night (I take them at night) and got woken up by the worst panic attack I've ever experienced (shortness of breath, felt like my brain was closing in on me, trembling, could barely walk normal). It was so bad, I called a triage nurse at a local hospital ER at 4:15am to make sure I wasn't dying.
Avatar f tn When reported bleeding to PCP, told call insurance for GI Dr. Insurance company sent me to ER. ER did CT w/ contrast. Found I have hyperemia of rectal sigmoid colon. I still had to push for Colonoscopy. Still bleeding after 5 days of 50mg prednisone. Preliminary diagnosis proctocolitis. I'm concerned, what is going on?
Avatar f tn well I am going to see my GI doc monday.. I have GERD and was taking AcipHex but had to stop when I found out I was pregnant.. so I am hoping it is just severe GERD related to that.. however, my lower back (flank, both sides) )is hurting more this morning, where the kidneys are.??? I am just wondering if the 2 can be related.. took pepto bismol last night and that seemed to help the stomach pain a little, but not completely... thanks for input!
Avatar m tn had mylanta and prilosec and the situation got improved.. doctor recommended aciphex and currently i am on that.. situation seems to get better but at times, the condition that I have something stuck in throat and a little difficulty to swallow flares up. Got a sore throat a couple of days back. but now it is better. feeling weak and has muscle pains occasionally.. any ideas? should i expect improvement only after a while? currently i am on the 15th day of taking aciphex...
Avatar n tn He recommended I go back on Aciphex or another PPI and to take Benadryl. This seems to make sense. I asked my GI about my hypersalivation problem but he did not know what the cause could be. After the Endoscopy and the H. Pylori visit, the GI doesn't wanted to be bothered. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Avatar n tn My husband is taking Aciphex for reflux, yet he continues to have stomach pain, not hearburn. He has recently had an upper GI and nothing was found. Nothing he takes orally helps the pain. What should he do if the specialist can't find his problem.
Avatar n tn when I was first diagnosed with Barretts I was taking aciphex. Two years later when I went for a re-check endoscopy the gastrointerologist suggested that I go on nexium. He said he thought it worked better than aciphex. Well about 8 weeks into the nexium I was getting great pains, I thought my desease was getting worse. I went back to the Dr. and asked to be put back on the aciphex. I beleive those pains were a side effect of the nexium.
Avatar m tn I was dx a few months back. Take advair twice a day (was taking singulair too, but it gave me a headache) & take aciphex daily for gerd. the aciphex has helped w/ the coughing some, but i still cough a good bit...sometimes to the point of dizziness. If I laugh, I cough. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn Been on prilosec, nexium aciphex, etc., ever since. My GP ordered an upper GI. All normal except MASSIVE GERD. He doubled my nexium to 2 a day. Also had a chest xray which was normal. He ordered abdominal blood work - all normal (gall bladder, liver, pancreas, etc) Still couldn't shake the intermittent nausea....Had an endoscopy - showed gerd, slight irritation of esophagus, small hiatal hernia and stomach blisters and nodules which were removed and benign.
