Aciphex chest pain

Common Questions and Answers about Aciphex chest pain

aciphex

Avatar n tn One of the most common varieties of harmless chest pain is chest wall pain. One kind of chest wall pain is costochondritis. It consists of pain and tenderness in and around the cartilage that connects your ribs to your breastbone (sternum). Often, placing pressure over a few points along the margin of the sternum results in considerable tenderness limited to those small areas.
Avatar f tn In the past two weeks I have had something going on that I'm not quite sure what it is. It starts with a swirling in my sternum area which turns into a twisting type cramping. This leads to headaches, dizziness, fevers that go up and down and acid (I'm on 20 mg aciphex - 2 x daily) that races up my throat due to vomiting that causes my throat to swell. It is something that comes and goes.
Avatar f tn I am a 24yr old female who has been experiencing severe epigastric pain for the last 4months. It started with some very uncomfortable pain right in the middle of my chest, between my breasts on the sternum. I went to my family doctor who thought two things...GERD or gallstones since i have a family history. I had an ultrasound sound which in deed some a gallstone. So in July, I had my gallbladder taken out only to feel worse.
Avatar n tn After I eat, (it doesn't matter what) I get pain (6 on a scale of 10) under my right ribcage, and it radiates up under my right arm. My stomach, on teh right side as well but more generalized, will also hurt. The pain only occurs if I bend over (like when you garden or pull weeds) for awhile after I eat. It is consistent pain, and will sometimes be followed by gas but not always. It will eventually alleviate itself. What is this?
Avatar n tn Does Hital Hernia and GERD can cause lower chest pain after excertion like walk. I do have symptoms even on rest , like belnching , little pain around chest, not like throibbing sort.
Avatar n tn My husband is taking Aciphex for reflux, yet he continues to have stomach pain, not hearburn. He has recently had an upper GI and nothing was found. Nothing he takes orally helps the pain. What should he do if the specialist can't find his problem.
Avatar n tn I started have acid reflux approximately 3 years ago. I would get a pain in the center of my chest between the breastbone (gastris) and it could burn all around the center of my chest and sometimes at the base of my throat. I have alot of inflammation in my lungs. At that time I was coughing up blood in the morning also with my mucus. I started with Nexxium (not all of them are designed for each individual, I could not take aciphex).
Avatar m tn even when I did it was bad... slight burning to severe burning feeling on the left hand side of my mid upper chest area. I went back again to see the doctor who told me the coughing, wheezing [which now both had stopped... nearly completely] from the sinus infection is proobably the causes of it. He now prescribed AdipHex.... am I having some GERD like symptoms or the Hiatia Hernia? As this tends to be more severe in the dinner time than morning. Please advise..
Avatar f tn I have been having chest pain since tuesday and i have been to the hospital 4 times with in this week. each doctor say something different. one said gastroesphageal reflux , another said costochonritis , another said carpal tunnel and a pinch nerve in the neck ,and then one said it have something to do with my mucsles and reflux . so my question is what is really going on with me .To me it sound like a stroke , heart attack , or angina .

Avatar m tn I was dx a few months back. Take advair twice a day (was taking singulair too, but it gave me a headache) & take aciphex daily for gerd. the aciphex has helped w/ the coughing some, but i still cough a good bit...sometimes to the point of dizziness. If I laugh, I cough. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn under my rib cage is hurting, tender to touch, feels hard and the pain is radiating towards my back.. with sharp intermittent pains in the lower back and flank... severe nausea, but no vomiting... yet... freaking me out! help!
Avatar m tn My wife has started having some pretty intense (6 on a 10 scale) pains in her upper chest. Pain also radiates into her neck and chin. No pain when laying down, only when up and on the move. She's had all heart testing done with nothing showing, chest and cardia CT scans, with notheing. Went to gastroenterologist, got scoped, and found very little that would cause the pain. Test results for h-pilori still out, but she was treated for this previously.
Avatar m tn He could not find anything wrong and also did chest x-ray. He said i could have acid reflux which causes dry cough and sometimes hard to breath. I currently take Aciphex for that and it works but still have bad dry cough. Could it be possibly cough variant asthma?
Avatar n tn These completely fixed every single symptom I have except the severe chest pain. I have a high pain thresh hold. As a boxer/martial artist/powerlifter, I deal in pain daily and it doesn't phase me one bit. But this pain is enough to make me want to cry after suffering from it for several hours. I can't get rid of it. I don't regurgitate acid. I don't have a brash in the back of my throat.
Avatar f tn I have been having pain under my left rib cage and in the middle of my chest, where my sternum is. Dr prescribed Aciphex about 2 weeks ago. I haven't felt relief yet. It doesn't get better or worse with food. Had an Upper GI & Small Bowel series done on Thursday, all clear. After the barium test, I had severe pain in RLQ, thinking appendicitis but the pain didn't stay. Could it have been an allergic reaction to the barium? I had an ultrasound on Friday, pelvis and abdomen...
Avatar m tn Been on prilosec, nexium aciphex, etc., ever since. My GP ordered an upper GI. All normal except MASSIVE GERD. He doubled my nexium to 2 a day. Also had a chest xray which was normal. He ordered abdominal blood work - all normal (gall bladder, liver, pancreas, etc) Still couldn't shake the intermittent nausea....Had an endoscopy - showed gerd, slight irritation of esophagus, small hiatal hernia and stomach blisters and nodules which were removed and benign.
Avatar f tn Since August of 2010 I've had chest pain, difficulty breathing, incredible stomach bloating/distention (even after just drinking a glass of water), burping, reflux, and heartburn. My main concern is the bloating and difficulty breathing. I can barely function on a day to day basis. I eat little bites all day long because I can't eat a full meal or I start hyperventilating. I have had an EGD which showed a polyp (was removed) and some mild esophagitis. I don't have H.
Avatar f tn For over four weeks now, I have been having almost constant nausea. It's an odd feeling because it's in my stomach, but I can also feel it in my chest and throat. If I cough, my gag reflex goes crazy. I've only thrown up twice, and both times it was from coughing. When I first eat, I feel good for a while, but then the feeling comes again. About 3 1/2 years ago, I was having problems with anemia (from heavy menstrual flow due to fibroids) and acid reflux.
Avatar f tn Biliary spasms can actually cause a pain that feels very much like reflux/chest pain right under your breast bone. Gall bladder removal actually makes these spasms worse. It doesn't hurt to try something like Levsin, Donnatal or Bentyl to help with spasms. They can also help reflux. Just something to keep in mind if all else fails. Good luck!
Avatar f tn My husband was originally on Aciphex, but placed on Nexium after our insurance stopped covering aciphex and he was miserable. Aciphex has always worked so much better for him. Finally, after a year of misery he's back on aciphex and so much happier. I hope it works as well for you.
Avatar m tn along with increased belching, gurgling stomach and lots of undigested vegetables in my stool. I was on aciphex for years because of gerd but was switched to dexilant for gastritis. I have had the belching and gurgling for about 4 months and the upper stomach pain for almost 2 months. i am very regular with my bowel movements (once a day) so i dont see how it could be ibs.
Avatar n tn Hello. I was diagnosed with GERD several months ago, and lived with almost daily pain (no meds were really working) until about 2 months ago, when I started Nexium. I was blissfully almost with any symptoms for about 6 weeks, even if I ate common reflux triggers, but now I'm experiencing pain again. Can Nexium just stop working like that? I should add that my diagnosis came after basic blood tests, an endoscopy, an ultrasound to check my gallbladder and a CT scan of my abdomen.
Avatar n tn I wake up gasping for air sometimes and my heart will start to race for about a minute or two and then slow down. Last Tuesday I was at a work convention and began to feel a pain in my chest near my left nipple. It was sharp feeling and lasted a second or two. I had a few more throughout the morning, so I went back to my hotel room to rest. It happened again while resting. Over the last week, I have experieced more of the same.
Avatar m tn Which, incidentally, stopped when I stopped taking the aciphex. Shortly after taking the aciphex I started experiencing symptoms of GERD. I still have the GERD to this day - some days its worse than others. I connect a straight line between the taking of aciphex and the development of GERD. Is this a reasonable conclusion? or is there some other more likely explanation?
